❝ I know that you spent the entire evening out; I was with you, you twat. Doesn’t mean you have an excuse for lagging behind. The day doesn’t stop just because you’re a lightweight with a hangover. ❞
Though really, Sirius was surprised that he was faring so well. He could only recall bits and pieces of the evening before: a rush of friends, a slurred countdown, a roar and a kiss as the New Year came rolling in. It had been brilliant, but it had left him groaning in bed this morning. The last thing he had wanted to do was pull back the curtains and face the day, yet here he was, in the middle of Diagon Alley, rushing about with all of the other people trying to make the most of their self-proclaimed new beginnings.
“Has anyone ever told you, what a fucking imbecile you are? Pretending as if your fucking head isn’t about to explode... Or on the other hand, if it isn’t then I demand to know as to why that is? Are you going soft on me mate? Or is your alcoholic ass becoming accustomed to getting fucked up?”
His voice was croaky as James grumbled out. His feet just barely not tripping over stray rubble on the broken pavement. The sheer length of the conversation made James want to find a bed, his or otherwise really, to just c r a s h. Why he had agreed to be dragged to Diagon Alley of all places, the day after the new year--- James didn’t know. Or perhaps it was just S i r i u s who always had a way about him that made James obey his command.... even when he had puked in the shower not even three hours prior.
