Wow, it’s been a little while since I’ve posted on here. I’ve just been so incredibly busy with the family and farm! Today, I headed to the great city of Philadelphia! Unlike New York City, that has been taken up with Leisler's Rebellion, Philadelphia has been doing quite well. As the center of trade, it felt very nice heading over there to sell some of my crops. Overall, it was a very successful mission, and everything that I headed out there for was required. On my way there, I happened to stop by a tavern. I met so many lovely travelers, and farmers like myself. Gossip and politics were all spread around, which I must say were quite interesting. I don’t hear much about those things, being stuck on the farm most of the time, so some of these discussions were news to me! Leisler’s Rebellion was a very big topic, and you didn’t hear this from me, but I heard that Jacob Leisler is actually winning this revolt! This was honestly quite shocking news to me, as he is up against the Governor himself. 

In other news, now that I’m back home, I am obligated to let you know how this household is doing. We are doing better than ever over here! Edward is growing perfectly, and Betty began the practice of medicine. Women, over here, are allowed to do so. Seeing Betty up and at work has made me happy, as she seems to love what she is doing. One day, she is going to become a midwife herself, after all of the help she received in her own labor. All of this while she is raising Edward is quite amazing! Perhaps I have underestimated women in the past. Overall, everything around here has been going perfectly. I’ll update in the future, but for now, all is happy, well, and I hope to be back on tumblr soon!

Happiest day to everyone! It’s been a little while, but I am extremely pleased to announce that with the help of a dear midwife, Betty had a beautiful baby boy! Currently, I am absolutely ecstatic with this news! Both my wife and son are as healthy and as happy as they could be, and I cannot wait for this crazy journey we will all be on. We’ve decided to name him Edward, after my own grandfather. It feels so nice to finally announce that I’m a proud family man, and father! 

Today I must finish up construction on our small farm home. I have been making a bit of a room extension myself, as all of us in the middle colonies do. With a new member of the family, we need all of the space we can get. Like most other colonists, our home is simply made out of wood. We sadly cannot afford brick, but wood is an extremely good supplement after all! Perhaps one day we will be able to afford such luxuries, with dear Edward taking over the family next in line. Sometimes, I think that life would be much easier in the New England area. For it seems like they have it all. Good business, family-life, and a plethora of opportunities! However, I have heard rumors of some witches residing up there, so it is most definitely best to stay in the wonderful state of Pennsylvania. 

In farm news, I will be planting double the batch of wheat this year! All of you guys in the comments were so lovely to help me make that decision, and I’m excited for what the season will bring. The more money I can trade in for the next few years, the better. Perhaps I will also plant some rye and corn, just for the extra wealth! 

Oh dear! I almost forgot to mention that I’ve gotten two cows for the farm! Livestock around here is very popular, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on some. Now, I think I’ve gotten you all caught up on the past few days here at the Rowe residence! I hope to see you back on here soon!

Happy Sunday, my dearest followers! Today, as you should know, is the holy day of the week! Betty and I spent the day together at our Quaker meeting, where we met up with friends and such. I must say, Sunday is my very favorite day! Don’t get me wrong, I love working on my farm, but meeting up with my fellow Quakers is always a pleasant time away from the crops. Sometimes, being stuck up on the farm can be quite lonely for Betty and myself. Sunday’s are often the one day we get to go out and mingle with others! Now, I must be going back to my chats. Well wishes to you all!

Best morning to you all! Today, I have the grandest news to share with you! Betty and I are expecting our first child! I, myself, could not possibly be more elated by this news. Our extra income from our crops has come into great use over here. Even though having children in these times can be a complete massacre, I’m 100% confident that Betty can do it. If anyone can, Betty can! 

In other news, the farm has been doing quite well, I must say. I might be heading to Philadelphia soon, to get myself some good trading deals. As we all know, it is the center of all trade over here! Soon enough, I must start planting my new batch of wheat, I’m thinking of doubling up the wheat from last season, with the new family and all. Let me know what you all think in the comments! Here in the great state of Pennsylvania, us farmers have to work basically nonstop in order to keep things running. However, religious freedom is most definitely worth it! My life here has been better than it ever was back in England. I’m so glad to be able to give my future daughter/son a life in this free colony, where he/she can be whoever they want to be! Here, we are the most ethnically diverse colonies, and oh boy am I excited to raise my child in this area. Perhaps, if he’s a boy, he can take over the family farm! Or even go into the abundant sawmill industry here! There are so many choices, and things you can be in these colonies. In the comments, everyone should let me know what you think I should name my future son / daughter. I’m ecstatic to look at everyone’s opinions, and I will see you back on tumblr very soon!

Good afternoon! This morning was quite the exciting one, as per usual. I’ve been working very hard on the farm, as seen in the photo taken by Betty! The crops have been looking ravishing lately, and I am sure our traders will love this stash even more than the last one. Summer is approaching fast upon us, meaning days and work get hotter by the second. However, do not fret my loyal followers! Summer happens to be my favorite season, and my family has been lucky enough to have supplies of water ready at hand. Unlike the southern colonies, our temperature is still somewhat bearable during the summer, ha! With this wonderful batch of crops, we will most definitely have some extra income this year! Who knows what we will do with that extra cash! Perhaps an expansion of the farm, or maybe even a new family member on the way?

Hello to my dearest friends and strangers! Welcome to my newly acquitted blog, where I will be sharing my favorite adventures with you all. My name is Mr. James Rowe, but you can call me James, of course. I live in the lovely state of Pennsylvania, along with my most beautiful wife, Betty Rowe. Now, you may be asking how I got my hands on such a wonderful lady in these times, but with my romantic aura that was simply easy. 

Anyways, I immigrated here from England not too long ago. As a Quaker, I did not have much of a choice, however the colonies have always intrigued me! The religious freedom here is beyond one's expectation, the middle colonies especially. I own a small wheat farm, in which I work on to the most of my ability. Luckily, I do have quite the preference for bread myself! In my free-time, I spend as much time with my wife, and our neighbors as possible. We may live a small life, but we do make the best out of it! So, that’s a bit about me! Seeing the spunky, charming, and handsome man that I am, I hope you drop a follow, and appreciate my dashing posts.
