This is what a £15.89 beer looks like. It's not even a pint. Heartbreaking though that may sound (and indeed is, although I didn't pay for it), its bloody lovely. (at Mikkeller & Friends Reykjavík)
Beautiful sentiment; lamentable signage. (at Gaukurinn)

Obligatory "I'm having a pint before I get on the plane and here's a photo of it" cliche. (at Edinburgh Airport)

#Homebrew update: I've been making my own beer for the last few years. Generally, if I can drink it without pulling a funny face I consider it a storming success. (Once I had to pour all 23L of hellstench down the toilet. Honestly, this hobby teaches you the finer points of emotional endurance.) However, this latest batch - a wheat beer - is bloody lovely. Even after just two weeks of bottling. I'd happily pay a fiver or more for this in a pub. #gettingthere #pissedforthenextmonth (at Edinburgh, United Kingdom)

My gran, a kindly but formidable woman worked all her life as a midwife. One day she heard the ward she was in charge of was about to admit a certain Mrs Jobbie, so she called together all the staff and told them in no uncertain terms that there would be serious trouble for anyone who laughed, smiled or joked about the unfortunately named woman.
Mrs Jobbie duly arrived, and my gran asked her if she had a name for her soon-to-be-arriving daughter.
“Donna” she replied.
My gran smiled and said something like “oh, very funny, that’s a good one”.
“Why is it funny?” enquired Mrs Jobbie, “I think it’s a lovely name”
“What, ‘Donna Jobbie’”? my gran asked.
“Yes, my mum was called Donna. I love it!”
My gran repeated, “Donna Jobbie? Donnnnnna Jobbie?”
“Yep.”
This went on for some time, eventually my gran said “well, I agree that Donna is a lovely name. I suppose my concern is that Donna Jobbie sounds ever-so slightly like 'Done a Jobby’”.
“Oh yes” replied the woman, “now you mention it I suppose it does”. She agreed it was actually quite funny, and decided to call the child Anita instead.
(OK, I made that very last bit up but the rest is true.)
Where I come from chubby means hardon, so this obviously had me chortling like a schoolboy.
Toothbrush News:
Had my old electric toothbrush for a couple years, it was generally great but it had a weird fault in that the brush would stutter annoyingly every once in a while. I recently bought a new toothbrush and incredibly, it seems to have exactly the same fault. Unbelievable, huh?
Also, I was excited about my new toothbrush when I bought it because it said "with timer!" on the box. Never had one like that before, I thought.
Oh.
Oh wait, hang on.
