she should know better than to let someone get under her skin and yet her patience was waning just like any chances of a decent mood were, “i was till you got here” she muttered, closing her book - she had a feeling she wasn’t going to be able to concentrate anymore –
“it was a joke” blunt as she eyed the girl carefully, “clearly you don’t have a sense of humour as everything is literal to you, don’t you have O.W.Ls to be studying for or would you rather waste time on my apparent embarassement?”
“You assumed I was judging you, but it probably would have been the same for whoever passed by. You were looking to defend yourself.” Jamie felt too comfortable with making the assumption, which was really more of a truth she’d learned in all her years of observing the students.
“You didn’t laugh.” She put bluntly, monotonously to the older student. When met with mentions of OWLS, she barely gave a shrug. “Seems I’ve got time for both, multitasking you see.”
