"Everything.. I miss my mum and my dog the most though,"
âYes I suppose thatâs one way to look at it,â
âI miss... I miss home...â
âWell then, thatâs something we have in common! Perhaps we can exchange lists?â
âAh... I can understand that mate, I believe my father felt the same way... probably why he left... my mum oves me still I think but... she just couldnât handle my anxiety anymore, you know?â
âI ah.. I suppose,â
âThat is actually one of my favorite books! I mean, I probably have said that about five or six books but Iâm still just as serious.â
âThe feeling is mutual love, I think I have a hundred favorite books,â
âOh really? Well perhaps we should just keep this our little secret hm?â he teased, âIâm sorry to hear that mate, it must be brutal having something on top of ADHD, as if that wasnât hard enough by itâs self,â
âSo you think this is all a dream?â he asked curiously
âO-Oh Iâm fine really, the impact really wasnât that bad, Iâm fine, um.. why were you running? Just ... out of curiosity...â
âIs there ever a time when you just... donât do something then?â
âSo then that's why you don't often see those false prophets who end up poisoning the kool-aid in places like this hm? Then suppose this princess gains a small following, would that mean by process of logic that she deserves to be let out to roam free?"
âBut isn't reality, in a way, all a matter of perspective? I mean think about religion for example, some people spend their entire lives devoted to something that they cannot see, they cannot hear, but they BELIEVE rather blindly that it's there and they devote everything they have about themselves to this entity, but then others spend their entire lives trying to DEBUNK these people- they care so much about being scientific about EVERYTHING that they devote their lives to doing nothing but proving a point, what's the difference between someone believing in .. a castle, that they're a princess and the people around them are their helpers, and someone believing that God spoke to them in the middle of the night and told them to spend the rest of their lives devoted to spreading messages from whatever God it is that they believe in? If it isn't hurting anyone, why try to convince them otherwise? And don't take this the wrong way, I'm a spiritual person, I'm not classically 'religious' but I believe in a God and a Goddess and plenty of other things, wich just makes me wonder further, why is it ok by society's standard to put one spiritual entity in a box that you can call 'religion' and have people accept it, and another in a box called 'fantasy' and be called crazy? I believe in faeries, there's nothing wrong with that, but there's no more or less proof in faeries than there is in God, yet if I tell someone I believe in faeries they'll stare at me as if I belong in-... well... the fact that I'm in a mental hospital not withstanding- but if I said I believe in God they'd barely bat an eye, all of it collects back to one simple thing: You cannot see it, or hear it, and believing in it is ENTIRELY subjective, so why is there such a difference?"
âExactly, itâs like telling someone thereâs no Santa, I mean she isnât hurting anyone, even if she is a little brash, do you really have to just shut down her castle? Everyone needs imagination to survive mate, I make up stories in my head to distract myself from reality, my cousin still pretends sometimes that sheâs gong to get a letter from Hogwarts and sheâs thirty, somewhere along the line we, as adults, decide itâs time to slip the rug out from underneath our children, for years we raise them to be imaginative, to believe in Santa Claus and Hogwarts and castles and dragons and such.. and then one day we make the concious decision that it stops being cute and itâs time to splash cold water in their faces and force them to wake up, and then anyone over that magic age of... what is it? Eight? Nine? That still has an imagination.. theyâre treated like freaks, like crazy imbeciles or something, why do we do that? What triggers us, as adults, to say âitâs time to grow up? And then to define imagination as something that grown-ups arenât allowed to have?â
âWell... ah... the world has many .. different perspectives and insights...â
âSorry to bother you⌠Iâm just supposed to be cleaning in here right now. It shouldnât take me too long though if you want to stay.â Luna sputtered out quickly, setting down her cleaning supplies. âI mean the company would be nice.âÂ
âO-Oh um, donât worry about love, Iâm just here reading, I-I hope Iâm not in your way or anything,â
âI.. suppose thatâs one way to look at it...â
