#thatsapromise the 10K is less than a month away and I will finish it. Even though, yes I felt my tailbone every step every stride, I still had to try to run at least a mile. Well I ran 2 and change at 23 minutes with plenty of walks in between. Not that bad for someone who was just in a car accident exactly a week ago. And every time I thought about the dull ache pulling my right lower back, Glute and hip... I saw my father trying to pull himself to sit up in bed, force down hospital food, move his leg side to side to offset the bed sores and even practice swallowing to clear his throat from holding pockets of food or water when he lost the involuntary ability to open & close his esophageal flap, forcing him to tune feedings strictly. I remember when he would call me from Poughkeepsie to tell me he loves me and to keep teaching yoga. He wanted his iPad to send me pictures of his mathematical tables, 15 by 15's he said, proof that he is still mentally sharp after arduous chemo and radiation warping his already cancer-ridden frail body. I laid in bed thinking about how this injury can paralyze me mentally and debilitating physically, I had to prove it to myself that this too won't hold me down. Out of all the things I've been through, I will see this through. #icanpromiseyouthat Laying in bed aimlessly is more painful than making an attempt to move. No I won't be a slave to any body... not even pain itself ... (at 24 Hour Fitness - Nanuet, NY)
