Perhaps this might be an exaggeration on my intepretation of Obanai's fear of Women and how it slowly progressed to him able to get close and interact with them but kept his distance until he got to know them better to be comfortable. But idgaf, this is my headcanon and you can pry them off of my cold dead hands.
I feel like the first few years of his freedom, when he first met women or when they interacted with him, his first reaction had always been either freezing up in absolute terror, have a panic, feeling nausea and then vomitting. He genuinely couldn't be near women without either of those symptoms. It was one of the roughest moment of his life, he felt so weak and shameful for feeling such a strong emotion against women because he struggle to seperate all the women from his cult from other women, his mind couldn't help but perceived them in the same mould. But with the rengoku's persistance and kindness he slowly got better, mostly through exposure therapy especially from Ruka, Obanai had reacted strongly to her and Ruka kept her distance while never actually left his space. Through her gentle persistence, warmth and kindness, he had gotten better. He no longer want to vomit or be on the verge of a panic attack when he's near them.
It still doesn't erase his perception of women being in the same mould as his family but he had gained a little courage to stand up for himself to not be so weak. His main reaction is more channeling that fear to anger, he finds any kind of reason to "hate" women while in truth he was still so afraid of them and could barely accept the fact he struggle to see women as anything but a monolith.
He swore he had gotten better because he was able to interact with women such as Shinobu and show respect to bow his head to Amane, he still kept his distance and try to be polite but he definitely won't be too close to them beyond anything as profesionalism and respect as a fellow peer and leader, his hatred(fear) against women makes it hard for him to actually create a deep bond where they can understand each other on a deeper level.
With Mitsuri is a different case(This is also my take and try to expand more of their relationship progressing because the canon content was too short and rushed for my liking especially for someone like Obanai). With Shinobu and Amane it's easier for him to talk and tolerate them since for one Shinobu has a calmer nature and wouldn't be keen on talking with him longer as she notice he was trying to put some boundaries without words, and with Amane, they don't talk much beyond asking something basic or about the corps itself, it's easier that way. But with Mitsuri? That girl is a ball of pure energy he has never experience before and it made him so confused and terrified at the same time, while he did try his usual tactic, talk and be quick, Mitsuri didn't seem to get the memo and tried talking to him endlessly which he find irritating and the old bile reaction he tried so hard to grow out of was beginning to come back and he struggles to move, speak and just walk away.
He used to find her irritating because she wouldn't stop talking and he hated the noise, the constant reminder how his family often talk in those sickening sweet voice and again Obanai still struggles to seperate women from the women from the cult, but gradually the more Mitsuri talk the more cracks in Obanai's perception began to shatter itself. The same voice of mitsure that he heard as the same wavelength with his mother became a seperate voice that he actually enjoys, it sounded, so sickeningly sweet yet so pure and sweet, it boggles his mind and soul on how can a women be this pure, could a woman be this pure or is Mitsuri the only exception.
He was in denial for the longest time, but eventually Mitsuri broke through him and he fell for her HARD, because she was so sincere and so kind, a feeling he has never received from another women, it was a nice feeling and he wanted to savour that moment and return his gratitude towards mitsuri and so on so on
Wow this was long, sorry if it sound like i'm goinf back in circle, english is not my first language and frankly i'm bad at words but i hope my point gets accross of my short intepretation of Obanai's progress, denial and acceptance
I like to headcanon that snakes really love Obanai.
Something about him that just makes any aggressive or dangerous snakes became docile whenever Obanai is near by or approach them. It's like Obanai can never do wrong in their eyes and would become protective of the guy
Ps. Sorry for not uploading i got busy with college life lol
Obanai and Muichirou brothers trust!!!
Hey question if you're willing to answer
I was told Bakugou and Sanemi/Inosuke is similiar. I don't watch mha enough to know and because i don't really like bakugou.
So to you is it true are theh truly alike? (Haven't watch enough KNY and just rely on tumblr/Tiktok/Pinterest for knowledge)
(Also because for a fanfic :>)
Hey @jellymelting đź‘‹
I would personally say that they are not similar.
They are meant to be the same archetype essentially 'the asshole with a heart of gold'.
All of these characters are known for being loud and overly aggressive.
That's where the similarities end in my opinion.
Both Sanemi and Inosuke have sympathetic and understandable reasons for being as they are - Bakugou does not.
Sanemi's mother was turned into a demon who slaughtered all his family, sans his little brother Genya, and prior to that, he also dealt with an abusive father. He's also shown to genuinely care for Genya, yet express this extremely poorly. It's easy and sympathetic to see how he has turned out the way he has. He's also called out by the narrative and Tanjiro (the MC) when he tries to blind Genya.
After Inosuke's mother was murdered by Douma, he was raised by boars - therefore he was raised without knowledge of the societal norms of humans so it is easy to understand why he's so brash and itching to fight all the time. He's also shown to genuinely care for his friends. Inosuke's violent and brash tendencies being shown to be slapstick in nature the majority of the time if it is towards his friends and deadly toward his foes - Inosuke is also called out when he goes too far.
Bakugou?
What's his 'sympathetic' reason for being as he is?
Canonically, Bakugou wasn't abused - he was spoilt rotten by all the adults around him and idolised by his peers. Bakugou fell into a river once and saw Izuku wanting to help him out as belittling him. Yet saw that misunderstanding as justification to abuse Izuku, his quirkless peer, for TEN years.
That's not sympathetic - that's plain cruel.
The MHA narrative also, unlike KNY's narrative with Inosuke and Sanemi, never calls out Bakugou.
Bakugou is instead lorded with unearned praises and power-ups at every turn. No one is allowed to hate Bakugou without the narrative turning on THEM.
Izuku (The MC!) isn't allowed to linger on his own backstory lest the audience remember that Bakugou is an asshole who abused Izuku for years and has not changed or been held accountable for what he has done!
Izuku is stuck calling Bakugou "Kacchan," rather than realising that this is his abuser who he has been stuck in a fear fueled, unhealthy 'fawn' trauma response with.
TLDR:
Sanemi, Inosuke and Bakugou are only similar on the very surface of what they are meant to be.
When you examine the characters, two are well written "assholes with a heart of gold" and enjoyable to read - the other is Bakugou.
Sanemi and Inosuke > Bakugou Katsuki
Anyone could tell me what's the difference between Izuku and Tanjiro in terms of personality
Many said Izuku has a better personality and writing, for me i kinda lean more to Tanjiro but i wanna know your thoughts
i remember I once thought that Izuku is capable of being cute and hot at different times while Tanjiro was only capable of cuteness but that's just my opinion 🤷
Well outside of being cute/hot, what is the difference in their personality

Obanai to the Kamaboko trio :
Also Obanai to Muichirou :
I love how he's softer to Muichirou than he is to Tanjiro and the rest. He's so baby in Obanai's eyes
Y'know i doubt he's overprotective and jealous if she talks to a fellow hashira's since he trust them with all his life.
And i doubt he'd be jealous with Muichirou if Mitsuri is loving towards him, he'd known the kid since he was like 11-13.
He favours Muichirou than the other kids and i live for that!!!
Y’know
Kinda wished Obanai’s fear and hatred of women should be explored more, don’t get me wrong. I love obamitsu like a lot, they’re one of the cutest couples i’ve ever seen. But the way Obanai’s falls in love with her at first sight doesn’t stick well enough with me to make them #1 ship.
I’d like it more through Mitsuri’s consistent kindness he showed and shower him, the kind of kindness he has never receive(excluding the Rengoku Family, i’m sure they took care of him well) from a woman and through Mitsuri he learns the true value of kindness and love which that later on is his turning point to letting his guard down to and opening his heart to give a woman a chance.
It is by her positivity he learns living longer doesn’t seem bad and that he is worth of loving
I don’t know man I just love when a character's fear is being explored more than to just brush it off. i don’t like romance all that much, i like it if it has chemistry and their dynamic is explored.
Considering Obanai’s backstory, it didn’t make sense to me. He just falls in love with her out of the bat, regardless of her purity. Trust isn’t easy to obtain especially to someone like Obanai.
Please all i want Obanai’s fear and hatred of Women to be explored and how Mitsuri manage to change that view by just consistently showered him with positivity and kindness
(P.s i am not good at conveying my words)
My two favorite Hashira together
Man wished there was more interaction about them
