Kim Namwoon would have been destined to become a mechanical engineer if only, 1) he had bothered to try in school, and 2) he’d had the chance without the apocalypse/being headshot/etc.
In a normal world, I imagine he graduates high school, immediately enters military service, shortly after becomes disillusioned with it but tries to make the most of it, and eventually finds himself working at an auto shop. He makes the most incredible cosplays and suits on the side that eventually gain him a lot of traction online, especially when a cosplay he makes off of pro-gamer Yoo Joonghyuk’s current main go viral.
One thing leads to the other, and eventually he finds himself working under Yoo Joonghyuk at his new company to develop video games, co-led with the badass writer Han Sooyoung and that weirdo editor and manager Kim Dokja.
And of course the incredibly perfect and talented Lee Jihye, Yoo Joonghyuk’s gaming apprentice along with the girl who might be her best friend, might be her high school sweetheart, who does the graphics and works on character design with him. Han Donghoon doesn’t talk much, but they send anime memes back and forth and no one can deny that he’s a genius at coding and tech. Lee Hyunsung and Jung Heewon are brought in as stunt doubles for references when animating character movements and coming up with designs.
Lee Gilyoung and Shin Yoosung are theoretically beta testers, but Kim Namwoon is pretty sure that Kim Dokja just didn’t want to pay for babysitters. The manager claims they’re not related, but KNW doesn’t believe him.
