sorry for up and vanishing like that for so long-- unfortunately i had a car accident at the start of the month that really did a number on me. i’m alright, but the trauma worked my ptsd up something fierce.

then i had a con to do and a cosplay to throw together five days before the con so that was a load of work-- i’ve just been busy as a bee and had no time for gon.

but i’m back and i’ll try to reply to what i owe-- i understand if folks wanna drop threads or whatnot due to inactivity.

“I know where babies come from and I know what sex is. I also know that when you’re drunk, those facts seem to blurr.” Ging admitted in a gruff tone. “Look Gon you may have been a mistake but you aren’t a bad mistake. There are good and bad mistakes and the world needed you. If you hadn’t been born then the world would be more messed up than it is.. I never said you were bad; you’re not. You’re strong. You’re just like me, you’re stubborn and strong headed. But you’re better than me too, you’re more loyal and your methods make more sense. I know you’re pissed off and I can’t blame you. If I met someone like me I’d punch me in the face. Instead of screaming, should we just get drinks instead?”

The anger boils away at his words-- leaving the man there shaking. He hides his face in his hands, turning away to try and quell the intense rise of emotion he’d felt. That honest boy he once was had been buried. He felt nervous crying in front of the male now, when he once did so freely.

Perhaps because these tears were over himself and not someone else.

He remains silent as Ging speaks, deflating the air of tension between them by being direct as only a Freecss man could. Taking a moment to compose himself, he glanced up at the offer.

“You’re buying every round. You owe me at least twenty years of birthday presents. And my pay for working at the museum won’t cover the amount of liquor I’m gonna need.”

“Well maybe you should have thought about it before you had sex. You knew damn well where babies came from and you-- you just let it happen! Screw the consequences! Consequences aren’t for men like Ging Freecss! He’s a legend! HE’S THE GREATEST HUNTER EVER, ISN’T HE?” Someone’s a bit upset. He’s gonna shout too-- much as he’d like to fight he’s afraid of what might come of it. Terrified of his own strength.

“I JUST WANTED TO MEET MY DAD! I WANTED TO LEARN WHERE I CAME FROM. I WANTED TO FIND YOU-- I DIDN’T NEED TO MEET YOU! AT THE LEAST I COULD IMAGINE YOU LEFT ME FOR SOME SELFLESS REASON-- BUT YOU DIDN’T!”

“BUT I’M JUST ANOTHER MISTAKE IN YOUR LIFE. THROW IT ASIDE. IGNORE IT. MISTAKES DON’T MATTER, DO THEY? NOT TO GING FUCKING FREECSS. HE’S GOT ARTIFACTS TO UNCOVER AND RUINS TO FIND! CAN’T BOTHER WITH RESPONSIBILITY.” Gon was on the verge of letting it all out-- screaming and crying like some child over these feelings he’d harbored for years. He’d tried to maintain that youthful innocence of his but the time for childish whimsy was long gone. He lost it the moment he set out for revenge.

“Maybe he wouldn’t have died if someone hadn’t run off again! You really think you could have done better? Go on-- prove it. You’re an egotistical asshole who doesn’t care about anyone but himself!” Well someone was letting out a few years of pent-up aggression.

“So what if I was a mistake? Adults own up to theirs-- I was more mature at twelve than you’ve ever been a day in your life.” He was certainly getting irritated, fingers undoing the buttons on his suit jacket.
