PINNED POST. Not that I have a bunch of followers, but I figured I'd create one now so I don't forget later.
ABOUT ME. [my bio] + I interact from @rinri
CURRENT OBSESSION. Sakamoto Days. Nagumo specifically. Please talk nerdy to me about this bish. Honestly, I'm happy to talk about any and all of the charas.
NOT AN IMAGINE BLOG. BUT feel free to send asks! Just note that there's no guarantee I'll write a scenario, as I'm a "busy" adult with AuDHD. But Nagumo / SakaDays is one of them lmaooo so you might just be in for a surprise! Also, I may not give you exactly what you want because I ultimately write what I want, when I want it lmao. If you're cool with that, ask away~!
HI JASMINE i ended up getting the kakuno!! i've been loving the experience writing with it, and I'm already itching to try out more ink cartridges in different colours!! thanks for pushing me <3
Whoot! That's amazing, Bitti! I haven't ordered one just yet - I'm on vacay in New York City! But I canNOT wait to have it in my hands.
Please do share what you end up drawing/writing! I bet it's beautiful~ Glad you took the plunge 🤩
I'd like to get back to it after catching up on all the fics I owe friends 🙈 if you have any specific themed ones you'd like to request, please throw 'em my way!
I haven’t been writing too much lately due to my non-existent work-life balance (work is busy as always, and my offline life consists of sleeping lmao and suffering through recovering from the latest age and/or genetics-related malady orz), so apologies for being MIA lately!
But I had some personal news to share~! I was recently named a finalist for a recognition highlighting female advocates and changemakers. It’s part of a black-tie gala celebrating trailblazing women breaking barriers and excelling in traditionally male-dominated industries (what a freaking mouthful).
For me, it’s not about the stage or the spotlight — it’s about the work that often goes unseen: the late nights, the unpaid labour, the speaking up when silence would be easier. Having that acknowledged feels like proof that my efforts matter, even when it’s invisible or slow-going.
Whether or not I win, I hope this is a reminder that your own efforts to push for change, however small they feel, are worth it. They add up!
Change doesn’t always look glamorous, but it’s always worth it. (It can’t hurt when you get to shop for a black-tie dress and actually feel glamorous too though 😉)
I made my long weekend extra long haha and finally caught up to the latest chapters!
Suffice to say, manga spoilers ahead! Anime-onlies, shoo!!!
I'm sure we've all that the noticed protective, kind-hearted people in this series don't live very long.
It makes sense that a retired assassin like Miya-baa would be badass. She's a healer, a wise figure, and now we know that she's a former assassin - but we didn't get much notice that we'd see her fight at all (other than her talking about how old Takamura could possibly be). After Lu returned from the margins, I worry that - if we get a noble sacrifice - it'll be from Granny Miya (idk it just wouldn't be as devastating the second time we lose a sage female figure).
On a positive note, it would be cool for her to unlock Lu's latent strength and skills without her having to resort to getting piss-drunk.
Like how Miya-baa elbowed Sakamoto's lower dan tian (never seen that in practice before tho lmao, but considering he's got thick skin, Miya probably wanted it to take). On that note, the lower dan tian seems to be the guts / solar plexus area.
The solar plexus is the energy centre and is directly linked to the self: self-esteem, sense of purpose, personal identity, individual will - and all that jazz. So it wasn't just Sakamoto's digestion and metabolism (although a healthy gut is always good to have haha) she wanted to unlock, but his confidence in himself and the ability to make decisions from a place of inner wisdom.
We do see him continue to struggle with that confidence in his chubby body.
Not to say he's free of (albeit sensible) anxiety in his skinny form, but he does manage to think of a "solution" later (although we'll see if that actually pans out).
Anywho, back to Lu! What is drunken fist martial arts but released inhibitions? Sometimes a very good massage and/or acupuncture session certainly has me feeling like I'm floating on air~
Normally, you want to do it gradually, because a forced release can result in damaging the meridians and the vessel, and possibly doing more harm than good. But in a tight pinch, it might be the edge they need against a trigger happy po-po.
I have a feeling that I'm overthinking it though. But who better to get TCM'ed than the OG Chinese femme herself? She's got that fine chynasty~ (fine china + dynasty - get it???)
I'm guessing that - in the next chapters - we get another (or two) parallel fights introduced: the Kyoto siblings vs maybe the Sebas + JCC (what better excuse to infiltrate the JCC then as visiting students/alumni?), and that freaky mother figure who gives me Killua's mama and Machi from HxH vibes - vs the rest (can you imagine Amane though! Now that he knows his mother was ready to kill him... That conflict would be delish in the most painful way).
But I digress. I wasn't suprised to see them announcing we're at the final arc. It's felt that way for a while now - which sucks - but I still hope we get a satisfying ending.
(I'm not holding onto too much hope though. Newbie mangaka have wronged me too many times now with their quick wrap-ups lmao).

I was reading this post over on the Ao3 subreddit this evening and I think it brings up a lot of good points about how fandom, as a community, has been shifting in its treatment towards fanfic writers.
Fanfic is more popular than ever, which means there are more works "competing" for the readers' attention, who take on a passive approach that treats fanworks not as a means to talk to people with similar interests, but as content, as products. [...] Gift cultures thrive not on monetary exchanges, but on the expectation that the gifts freely given will be returned in an unspecified future through emotional and relational means. This used to set fandom apart, but it's slowly being absorbed into the mainstream way capitalism operates. Where does that leave us?
And it's demotivating to see the responses authors get when expressing their grievances with this state of affairs, or how they feel underappreciated. Being called entitled, told to write for themselves, or to promote their work as if writing and posting isn't enough. I write for myself, I post for the community. There are things I want to say about the source material and characters, and I do through storytelling. And I'm grateful about each of the comments I got, no matter how short. It's just that it doesn't feel like there's a community out there when no one talks back. Writers aren't just expected to write, but to do it for the "right reasons", and to also be as pleasant about it as possible, lest they'll be criticized by more people than the amount that's offering them support.
I've seen posts going around on tumblr that have approached this topic as well--that fanworks (particularly fanfic) should be created from the perspective of a perfect vessel that can pour, pour, pour out and never needs to be poured into. You should do it for the "right reasons" and not complain because "no one owes you interaction". But what is fandom if not interaction?
Writing fanfic is one of the most time-consuming labors of love that makes up a fandom. (That's not to say other fanworks aren't labors, time-consuming, or made with love. We're talking about fanfic). Your 300k+ enemies to lovers slowburn porn-with-plot fic that has reshaped the entire way you approach a specific pairing or media has been made with time, effort, for free, with the intention to be shared with you.
And in the state of current fandom, it has been made with the expectation to receive nothing back. Is that fair? Maybe. Silent readers exist and a kudos on Ao3 is at least an acknowledgment that some people read and enjoyed. But does it hurt to leave a comment? Even a heart emoji or an "I loved this, thank you for sharing!" is enough to at least start a dialogue, a conversation, form a connection.
That's not even to mention the isolation of fandom interactions to private Discords; time after time I've heard from fanfic authors who found out that there have been discord servers or twitter groupchats where their fanfic has been discussed, loved, and lauded at length--but never once was the author told this! Ao3 has comments for a reason. Many authors link their tumblr profiles or emails in their bio for people to reach out to them.
Read your work again. You see: does, goes, places, etc. Red, blue, ugly, smelly. Authors often take shortcuts when writing and while it gets the job done, it doesn't give the power that it should. Sometimes, the word count is sacrificed for the greater good.
He ran to get her
He lunged to steal her, or
He charged to catch her
Once you have that, maybe you're still not writing creative. You can use synonyms, it's the easiest path to do. Yet, you can rephrase for a more unique sentence. Walk =/ strut. Do =/ act.
It smelled of decaying bodies
Your smell soured of death's traces, or
The air soured of death's traces
Describing things doesn't need to be flat either. It's a struggle to describe certain things—hair, eyes, height, posture, rooms, walls, etc.
The room was extremely red
The room drowns her with fever-inducing red, or
Every surface imaginable bleeds my eyes with red
This can easily become an overbearing way to attempt to reach the word count. However, it does help in situations where the writing has been too flat for too long and the narrator needs to show that this thing holds significance.
I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.
Well - she got this email this morning:
The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.
Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).
Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

Never question whether a fic is too old to comment on.
