Jason grew up constantly being abandoned. His mom gave him up with no problem, his sister never found him, his father doesn't talk to him, Lupa left him with the Romans. No parents, lowest cohort. No close friends. He had to watch Annabeth grow frustrated over Percy being missing, and wonder if any of the Romans were that anxious to find him. He never saw the Romans search for him that way. He attached to Leo and Piper quickly and grew into them for months. He even meets Thalia. Jason's used to abandonment though. He spent the entire prophecy thinking about how he'd rather be the one to die over Leo. Then Leo dies, and Jason goes crazy trying to find him. He was abandoned yet again, by his best friend. Then Piper breaks up with him and leaves him at boarding school. Thalia never visits. The Romans don't care about him anymore and Jason's never been fully accepted by the Greeks. Jason's used to abandonment. He finds out Leo's alive but can't see him. Piper can barely talk to him. Mellie doesn't like him anymore, and his protector, Hedge, doesn't do any protecting. Jason's used to abandonment. His friends and homes send him away by himself. He doesn't fit in. Jason's used to abandonment.
