Giant harp in the park. Its Rose of Tralee time again. An out dated competition where the girls (roses) are interviewed and judged for 5 days. There's 2 nights on television where there's a live interview and most girls do a party piece. On the last night of the festival one will be crowned the rose of tralee . There's actually no tiara anymore as they took it away. Then the winning rose is put on a float and paraded through the town for the people to see, they stop at the bottom of Denny street where she's introduced to the crowd and then the fireworks display starts, we call it midnight madness. Great festivities for the town, as much as Im not a fan of the competition itself I'd be sad if it went away as there's always a great buzz around. People come from worldwide to see this. Its mad 😃 The winning rose then travels around the world for the year and visits all the rose centers, advertising our town, some charity work and being an ambassador for the Rose of Tralee festival itself.
