You know what I hate the most about obx?? And yes a part from the JJ dying storyline.
The writers never complete a plot.
-Kie and Saraās relationship in kook year: them only mentioning ONCE and thenā¦they could have wrote little inside jokes giving us input in what could have happen (aside of what little explanation we got). Not ONCE
-Pope and Kieā storyline?? Why would you make them hook up if they wouldnāt have a repercussion? It was for the giggles?? Like you could have ended it in the kiss we got in season 1 and then Kiara wanting to be with Pope only because she was grieving and then realizing what she was doing but no letās make this a item so we donāt talk about it never again.
-The melted cross????? No saying about it in season 4?? How was Pope so chill lol even Cleo could have a line delivered there.
-How the fuck Kiara was in good terms with her parents?? The kicked her out- they welcomed her but putting her in some test of sort- failed- she was sent to kitty hawk- she returned but was not welcome - they appear at the ceremony - the meet at court and all is WELL??? Excuse you what the hell?? And she even told JJ that everything was better than going to live with her parents BEFORE the court thing and AFTER the ceremony IāMā¦
-Which brings me to Kieās PTSD of being kidnapped not ONCe But TWICE!!!!! Not even a little bit of a struggle?? (We could count her being locked in the hyper chamber but please DEVELOPED IT MORE)
-The obvious one: JJ discovering he is adopted and then being killed without knowing ANYTHING i want to cry please the consistent of this show is none. Like we didnāt even get an explanation of Lukeās background of why he was a piece of shit to JJ when he oh so seem so nice around him (This is purely bad writing because that man is evil and because it was so out of pocket that storyline they had to redeem him b u l l s h i t)
-Cleo life story???????? And thats my only observation. It seems they only put her in the show and as a part of the pogues so Pope could get the girl instead of building up a personality for her first.
Peterkinās murder, Shoupe and Plumb corruption, JJās arc, The first gold, LIMBREY and I could go on and on. So many plots that werenāt over. If you donāt close one then donāt add more!!
And donāt get me started at how fast everything happens: Sarahs and John Bās relationship + them sinking together (if you said months or even a years passed ok acceptable they know enough about each other but they were only for days lol), the first gold hunt and the cross being one month from the El Dorado? Those kids are seriously better than Sherlock Holmes lol, Jiara looking like a newly couple when 1) theyve been best friends since kindergarden (or third grade, another inconsistency) 2) it has been like 18 months
I donāt know if it is because they wanted a teen drama show like the oc meeting the groonies blah blah but those shows were 20ish chapter long if you have 10 episodes you will never have time to explore all the things you want. And yes is a critic to the awful writing they do in this show AND the fact that they only settle for 10eps because honestly a show that envolves a lot of main characters have to have a consistency. Like in the first season all the personalities shine but then a lot of them loose depth or turned a hell of dramatic also they stopped writing good relationships and not in the romantic kind: where was Kie and Johnās B relationship after season 1?? JJ and Sarahās?? Cleo and Kieās?? And I could go on and onā¦
I watched the show for the funs and the giggles but that stopped after seeing the mess of season 4 part 2 was and also may i say, Jiara fanfic writers captured all SO well and it is so funny and beautiful to read you all because you DEVELOP and DEEPEN so i think thats why i feel in love with this characters, aside loving Jiara as a pair in the first seasons: thanks to you all! So thank you!!
And here is my ranting lol I had to said something somewhere seeing as the people I know donāt give a fuck about this show (how lucky of them)

i could look past inconsistent plots if they had given us fun scenes here and there where the pogues felt like a family (like tbh the first episode of season four) but instead we got alligator attacks, boats blowing up, plane crashes and more bad parents that any group of friends should ever have
