The Journal of Hematology Oncology Pharmacy is an independent, peer-reviewed journal founded in 2011 to provide hematology and oncology pharmacy practitioners and other healthcare professionals with highquality peer-reviewed information relevant to hematologic and oncologic conditions to help them optimize drug therapy for patients.
A heads-up for those starting - or are scheduled to start - FOLFIRI for Pancreatic cancer. Covers both 5-FU and Irinotecan. Started today, so far so good, but was given atropine to counteract rapid-onset runny nose and watery eyes. Nurse explained that virtually everyone has these issues, and the pharmacy order had it included. Atropine has anti-diarrheal properties and is mentioned here as well.
To those beginning this regimen, good luck, and feel free to message me if you have any questions. I’ll answer them as best I can.
An experimental immuno-oncology treatment, Tb535H, will move into early phase clinical trials for patients with advanced solid tumors.

Bruce Lee as Cancer Warrior?
I was watching this the other day and a strange thought came to me. It may seem like a stretch, or maybe not. I’ve seen this movie many times, but my thinking began to shift to the idea of Bruce Lee’s character being a cancer patient, and the endless onslaught of people trying to get to him represent cancer itself. The series of styles and weapons through which he progresses represent the approaches a patient might have to take when one is not successful, or stops working. So, his hand-to-hand is enough to manage the continuous onslaught, until the cancer changes up and comes in with weapons of it own. a counter-measure approach is taken. The move from the big stick to the smaller sticks represented to me the rapid changes in chemotherapy approaches, with the guys in the prison cell representing a little help offered by the immune system. Although a great deal of progress is made, he is ultimately stonewalled and can only sit and await the next step.
Again, this may seem like a huge stretch, and would love to hear supporting (or opposing) views. If you have seen this film before, you are aware of the content. If you HAVE NOT seen this, please be advised that, as this is an extended fight scene, it’s violent (although not graphically) so be aware of that going in. Thanks for watching!
