Bu Nad, my CP Bu Rina, me, and Bu Dewi at Pelepasan 2014.
So much banging batik!

// school friends.
santai-santai, sedang minum es buah sama dik Nia.
taking it easy, drinking es buah with Nia.
the past few months.
the kiddie files.
There have been so many fabulous jilbabs (hijabs) in my life lately! First two from my school's Pelepasan (8th grade graduation) a few weeks ago, the last two from my friends Dian and Lingga's wedding. Yeah, I'm always showing up to places where people look amazing and I'm basically wearing sweatpants. That's #peacecorpsreality for ya.
Nia and Shifa, the adorable faces of my English tutoring LES.
Top: 7th & 8th grade English Club students, showing off the question cards they've written to be sent to my World Wide Schools partner school in New Jersey. Super pumped!
Below: Throwback to my LES students making "I am thankful" hand-turkeys over Thanksgiving. They weren't exactly sure what they were making, but clearly it was fun regardless.
I may or may not have an obsession with my girl Nova. She recently turned six, but she acts like a 13-year-old and is just as smart as one.
Photos from the independence day parade, and my friend Dian's graduation from University in Jogjakarta.
On October 15th, my school had a celebration for Qorban, a Muslim holiday celebrating Abraham's sacrifice of livestock in place of his own son. Together, the students and teachers slaughtered 8 goats and portioned the meat out to the neighborhood. Bloodier photos will be emailed by request.
Desa chillin.
My school in Tulungagung, East Java. It's an MTsN (Islamic middle school). I feel lucky to among the first 5 volunteers to teach at middle schools in Indonesia - my students are so cute I can hardly stand it.
Last week was ID7's three month anniversary in Indonesia, and this week is our one month anniversary at site. Yes!
Don't you wish you looked like that on your high school graduation?
PCV visit May 26-29, we saw Ellen in Panggungrejo! :)
English Camp! May 11, 2013.
Welcome to the rose capital of Indonesia. <3
