imo we need to swap the phrase “no one will love you until you love yourself” with something to the effect of “if you dnt recognize your own value, you’re a lot more likely to put up with mistreatment that you dnt deserve”

it’s not rly a matter of self-love as much as it is being able to stand up for yrself when you need to, and even though the latter is part of that process, it’s still not the same thing

Hey there! Does anybody he know how to get rid of a hunchback? I have a small hunchback, from marching band while playing the sousaphone, that's a really bother for me. I know I shouldn't worry too much about it but I feel insecure about my looks because of it. I just wanted to know if there was some method or way to do this.

Being abused made me such a “good kid.”

I was

Always polite

Never acted without permission

Never spoke out of turn

Always did what I was told

And it’s shitty that I was considered mature and praised for those things, and all of those characteristics have translated into me being an immature, “bad adult.”

Now I

Have difficulty making a keeping friends

Can’t act without permission/am dependent on others for direction

Am terrible at communicating

Have no agency/personal compass

It’s a really difficult thing for people who were abused as children to grapple with. What made us good children make us bad adults.
