15. If Snape had any free time, how do you think he would spend it?
I don't think he's really a guy who has "hobbies" or knows how to "relax," so I'd say: 1) sleeping, 2) smoking cigarettes at the kitchen table while staring into space, 3) inventing spells, 4) reading massive biographies of famous dark wizards, 5) collecting magical fungi, 6) writing nasty letters to magical research periodicals, and 7) lovingly curating his collection of Creepy Things in Jars.
17. Do you think Snape was unhappy even after joining the DEs?
Yeah. After he and Lily fell out I don't think he had another happy day in his life. He thought his big dream was to find people who appreciated his talents, but what he really wanted was for someone to like him for who he was, and the DEs don't offer that. So while he's a loyal DE he mostly just feels alone, and he's frustrated because he doesn't understand *why* it's not enough. Then once Lily is threatened the whole thing becomes a horror show anyway and he just wants out.
18. Your favourite physical feature of Snape?
His nose, of course. I also enjoy his deathly pallor and horrible hair. And his skinny stick legs. And his sparse, scraggly chest hair. Oh is that not canon?
21. What particular memory do you think Snape used to conjure his patronus?
I think he used the day he learned that the girl he wanted to be friends with wanted to be friends with him too.
41. Is there a side to Snape that he hasn't let anyone see? What do you headcanon this "secret personality" to be like?
I mean, I'm tempted to say we know his secret personality - the person he was around Lily. Happy, for one thing. Solicitous, affectionate, eager to give the person he loved whatever they wanted. Relaxed enough to babble about all the nerdy shit he was into. I think what's secret about Snape is just how susceptible he is to unmotivated kindness. If someone is nice to him, like sincerely, because he can tell - or really, if they demonstrate that they see him and accept what they see - he'll go all gooey. But that just...never happens.
