a burning hill.
the line "look at that little cunt ascending" alone makes six seasons of peaky blinders worth it
Miu Miu Menswear - A/W 1999
So… there’s another one.
I’d recognise the paws and the little nose and chin (and the hairy legs) anywhere by now ok lol
the crate
peaky blinders 6.03 “gold” (dir. anthony byrne)
i love tragedy i love circular narratives i love ppl who cannot escape their fate & characters that have been dead since the beginning
who’s haunted clap if you’re haunted
peaky blinders (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022 // dir. otto bathurst, colm mccarthy, tim mielants, david caffrey, anthony byrne)
“what resembles the grave but isn’t”, anne boyer
Tommy erased a noose drawn on the door of the car that he entered through.
Peace at last.
‘I was angry with my friend: I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow.’
– A Poison Tree by William Blake // Peaky Blinders™ – S2 Ep.2 // S6 Ep.6
i wish they would release the original scripts for what the season was going to be before the movie deal honestly because i refuse to believe that was anything like the original ending. it wasn’t even an ending, nothing was resolved
TOMMY SHELBY — PEAKY BLINDERS S01E01 // S06E06
i'm going to assume it was intentional and praise the excellent combined meaning of the burning caravan: both the symbolic burning of tommy's life and the very literal, intentional destruction of romani property as a form of discrimination, ordered by a nazi
i think there's something very meaningful in a story that ends w/ dueling optimism and pessimism, specifically an optimism about the future of your main character and a pessimism about the future of the world.
tommy's very overtly found some form of inner peace, world war i is ending for him at long last, then he returns to his caravan to find it burned by the ideology that will lead to world war ii. a closing shot that's simultaneously uplifting and foreboding—he's riding free on a white horse in green hills, surrounded by flames and darkness.
Saw an Italian today
Dukes story about why he killed the man who denied his mother a hospital bed fits really well with the series long theme of what is violence exactly
all im saying is that polly had a lot of incredible lines that they’re could’ve called back to at the very end. but whatever
