Good lord. Still packing and settlement is tomorrow. 😁 Lucky I've got muscles like @blairzz1 around. That old guy is a weapon.
Fantastic Friday afternoon beats...

I've been waiting for Modest Mouse to release a new album for 7 years... the first track sounds amazing. I can't wait...
I've been playing the Sketches album from Conner Youngblood this all week repeatedly. Such an insanely talented guy. He plays 30+ instruments on this album. This is the first track from the album called "Australia".

This is a pretty interesting study that demonstrates just how dominant our vision is on judging stuff, even when it shouldn't.
In this experiment, people were asked to pick a winner of a classical music competition from a 6 second clip of the performance. Some people got the audio only, others got the vision only (so no audio) and others got both audio and video.
Only those participants who watch the video without sound were able to judge the winners correctly with any statistical significance.
In other words, the judges were biased by how the musicians performed visually (or perhaps how they looked generally) when deciding who was the superior musician. Which of course should have had very little influence at all.
Of course I'm going to say it being his Dad and everything - but this kid is truly awesome.
Mum my brain is so cool. It can remember old times like old houses and places I have been.

This is a surprising account of how much Spotify is paying artists and details nicely the real state of the music industry and how Spotify is a bright spot in an otherwise miserable financial quagmire that is the music industry.
Sorry to keep banging on about Gem Club. His 3 albums were my constant companion on my recent Vegas trip. This soundtrack was in stark contrast to what was going on around me. This live session is amazing.
Had a big night? IV bags available in the foyer. (at MGM Grand Las Vegas)
If you like Bon Iver you might like Gem Club. It’s a lot more stripped back (and less autotune) but still amazing.
