Buck & Eddie 9-1-1, S07E09
9-1-1: Music City Heat — Nashville Arrivals & Reconnections (Buddie & Tarlos Crossover Adventure)
When Los Angeles (118) firefighters Buck and Eddie travel to Nashville alongside Austin (126) paramedic T.K. Strand and Texas Ranger Carlos Reyes, a weekend off-shift with Station 113 quickly evolves from a wild night on Broadway into an intimate, life-changing crossover.
The Night Out on Broadway: After an energetic night at the honky-tonks with Station 113’s Lieutenant Ryan, Roxie, and Blue, the four visiting men head up to Suite 1204 on Floor 12 of The Grand Hyatt. Tarlos proposes setting aside shift stress and first-responder protocol for a night of total freedom.
Crossing the Boundary Line: Buck and Eddie officially cross the boundary line of their long-standing friendship, giving in to years of unspoken feelings with encouragement from T.K. and Carlos.
The Master Bedroom Rotations: The four first responders move to the master suite and engage in a series of partner rotations:
Buck & T.K.: T.K. breaks through Buck's initial hesitation with fluid confidence and playful banter.
Eddie & Carlos: A grounded, intense pairing driven by mutual respect and authority.
Carlos & Buck: Carlos offers Buck a steadying, reassuring presence to let go of his usual heavy burdens.
T.K. & Eddie: A high-energy, fiery dynamic that catches Eddie delightfully off guard.
The Morning After: Sunday morning brings a relaxed afterglow. Over a hotel breakfast—where under-table hand grazes, knee contact, and elbow bumps keep the connection alive—the four reflect on the night. Meanwhile, Station 113 crew members settle into their own quiet Sunday routines (Ryan making breakfast for Sam and baby Millie, Roxie enjoying lattes with Elena, and Blue making pancakes for Taylor).
Airport Departure & Future LA Plans: At Nashville International Airport, Tarlos and Buddie share warm goodbye hugs and kisses before boarding their separate flights back to Austin and Los Angeles. They commit to a future reunion in LA, complete with a organized playdate where Eddie's teenage son, Christopher, can babysit T.K. and Carlos's adopted toddler brother, Jonah, alongside Buck's fostered biological son, Theo.
Buddie & Tarlos in Nashville
The high-energy neon lights on Broadway begin to soften into a warm amber glow as the midnight hour hits. The honky-tonk crowd thins out, leaving behind empty glasses, scattered ice, and the lingering bass of country rock.
Season 10 opening: It’s set up in Buck’s household. Theo is skipping around the house, with a bread in his hand.
Buck is yelling for him to eat his breakfast from the kitchen.
Suddenly it goes very quiet. Buck becomes antsy so he rushes to the living room.
“You shouldn’t run around while eating, you know?”
“Why? Running is fun!”
“You can get hurt, Theo. Then, I’ll be sad. Buck will be sad too.”
“Chris?”
“Yes, he will definitely cry.”
Theo throws his head back, bumping into his chest, as he laughs at the picture of three of them crying.
Buck shakes his head fondly. Eddie smiles up at him.
“Come on, let’s go eat in the kitchen. I think I smell pancakes.”
Theo shrieks, “Eddie loves pancakes!”
Eddie scoops Theo up, walking towards Buck.
Buck has that grateful glint in his eyes, “Thank you, Eddie.”
Eddie shifts Theo to another hip, as a hand climbs up to Buck’s cheek, “You owe me lasagna and snickerdoodles.” Then, he plants a quick kiss on Buck’s cheek.
“Me too!” Theo screams making both of them flinch.
Buck smothers kisses on Theo’s face.
“Since when are you guys dating?”
That’s Chris.
Eddie blinks. Suddenly feeling confused. He looks at Buck who’s still have the same fond smile.
Buck chuckles, too calm compared to Eddie’s impending panic, and he raises his hand.
There’s a gold ring. On his ring finger. Buck takes Eddie’s left hand. There’s a gold ring on his finger too.
Buck kisses Eddie’s ring finger, lovingly, and says, “Married. He’s my husband.”
Eddie wakes up with a gasp, and a very warm feeling in his chest. His eyes water – multiple emotions hitting him all at once.
He raises his left hand. Empty. No ring.
Then, 9-1-1 opening title card.
Boom.
You might be lousy at keeping secrets, kiddo, but I'm not.

Jonah’s Lizard & Race Car Birthday Party
The loft was practically vibrating with chatter, laughter, and the high-octane soundtrack of a dozen five-year-olds’ dreams. Green and orange balloons clustered near the ceiling, checkered racing flags draped over the railings, and an oversized lizard wearing goggles smiled down from the banner hanging off the exposed ductwork.
At the center of it all stood Jonah, beaming as he clutched a miniature die-cast race car in each hand.
"Alright, birthday boy, let's see some speed!" Paul called out from the living room floor, where he and Mateo had mapped out a massive, multi-lane track using painters' tape. Mateo was currently crouched on all fours, making loud engine-revving noises as he launched a green sports car down the hall.
Nearby, Owen stood near the kitchen island, looking like a proud grandfather—a title he’d happily claimed—as he watched Jonah race over to test the track. Next to him, Tommy laughed as her twin daughters, Evie and Isabella, debated the aerodynamic physics of rubber lizards versus toy hot rods with Marjan and Nancy.
Across the room, Judd had five-year-old Charlie perched on his shoulders so she could get a better view of the high-speed action. Grace was chatting warmly with Leigh Ann, who held little baby Liam wrapped snugly in a blanket, while Wyatt knelt down to help Charlie navigate the crowd of feet without dropping her own lizard balloon.
Over by the entryway, Carlos’s Texas Ranger partner, Sam Campbell, arrived with his family, setting a wrapped box on a table already overflowing with gifts. Carlos greeted Sam with a firm handshake and a warm smile before slipping back through the crowd toward the kitchen, where T.K. was carefully placing the final candles on a towering iguana-themed cake.
"Everyone's here, babe," Carlos said softly, coming up behind T.K. and resting a hand on his waist. "You pulled off the ultimate race day."
T.K. looked out over the crowded room. He saw his dad cheering alongside Mateo, Judd lifting Charlie high into the air, Tommy's girls laughing with Marjan, and Sam's family seamlessly blending into the chaos of the 126. Most of all, he saw Jonah—safe, adored, and surrounded by a giant, fiercely protective family.
"Yeah," T.K. whispered, smiling as he took Carlos's hand. "We really did."
Theo’s Spider-Man & Firefighter Birthday Party
The scent of Bobby’s famous homemade pasta salad and freshly baked garlic knots filled the loft, mingling with the crisp smell of rubber balloons and sweet buttercream frosting. Sunlight streamed through the high windows, illuminating the intricate web of cotton batting stretched across the ceiling.
Theo stood right in the middle of the living room rug in his brand-new Spider-Man suit, complete with a plastic fire helmet balanced precariously over his mop of curls. He stomped his light-up sneakers against the floor, watching the red lights flash with wide-eyed marvel.
"Look, Buck!" Theo shouted, pointing down at his feet. "I'm fast like a fire truck and sneaky like Spidey!"
Buck crouched down to Theo's eye level, his expression bursting with pride. "You're the fastest five-year-old in Los Angeles, buddy. But even superheroes need fuel before the big mission."
At the dining table, Bobby was setting down a massive platter of pizza next to the custom two-tiered cake. Athena stood beside him, adjusting the Spidey-themed napkins while keeping a sharp, affectionate eye on nineteen-year-old Harry. Harry and Christopher were already hovering near the food, deep in a debate about whether Spider-Man could outrun a fire engine.
"You two haven't stopped eating since you walked through the door," Athena teased, patting Harry’s back before turning to smile at Christopher. "Save some energy for the cake, or I’m putting you both on cleanup duty."
Over by the sofa, Chimney was snapping rapid-fire photos while Maddie held one-year-old Nash on her hip. Six-year-old Jee-Yun was busy decorating everyone within reach with superhero stickers. She darted over to Hen and Karen, carefully slapping a shining holographic Spider-Man emblem right onto Hen’s cheek.
"There! Now you have Spider-Sense, Auntie Hen," Jee-Yun declared proudly.
Hen laughed, leaning into Karen's shoulder as their children, Denny and Mara, sat on the floor building a sprawling rescue station out of foam blocks. "Well, with this Spider-Sense, I predict I'm taking the rest of Bobby's pasta salad home for my shift tomorrow," Hen joked.
Near the entrance, May and Ravi stood close, holding hands as they watched the chaotic joy unfold. Ravi had brought a pair of mini safety goggles, teasingly holding them up. "Working with the 118 teaches you to prepare for every disaster scenario—even a room full of sugar-rushed five-year-olds," he whispered to May, making her laugh and press her head against his shoulder.
Suddenly, the front door swung open and Albert burst through, clutching a tray of juice boxes and throwing his arms in the air. "Did somebody say high energy? I just survived a ten-hour flight from Korea, and I am officially ready for cake!"
A loud cheer went up from the room as Buck walked over to give his friend a tight, welcoming hug. Albert looked past Buck’s shoulder at Theo, who was currently demonstrating a dramatic superhero landing for Eddie.
"He looks so happy, Buck," Albert said softly, his smile turning gentle. "Really at home."
When it was time for the candles, the entire 118 family gathered around the main table. Chimney got the camera ready, Maddie bounced Nash, and Eddie placed a steadying hand on Christopher’s shoulder as they all surrounded the birthday boy. Buck stood directly behind Theo, his hands resting gently on the five-year-old's shoulders.
Together, the room erupted into a loud, warm chorus of "Happy Birthday." Theo looked around the circle—at his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends—his eyes sparkling in the candlelight. He took a huge breath, puffed out his cheeks, and blew out every single candle in one go.
The loft exploded with cheers and applause. As everyone reached for cake, Theo looked up at Buck, tugging on his sleeve.
"Is this my best birthday ever, Buck?" Theo asked softly.
Buck knelt down, brushing a stray curl from the boy's forehead, his voice full of steady warmth. "It’s the first of many, buddy. You're home."
