Ika-nineTEEN na Nobela

Last teen ko na to kaya I’ll open up a little about something that I was deprived of, Love life, this somehow has an impact on our teen lives.  After our afternoon sessions with DJ Noemi, ay Mam Noemi pala, na dinaig pa si Papa Jack, many things surged my mind. First, Bakit wala akong love life? Second, bakit wala akong love life? Third, BAKIT WALA? I’m an NBSB pero hindi ako bato, I admire many but I’m a downright stupid and a hopeless romantic na may huge admiration sa isa. Pero sabi nga ni Fidel sa 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, “ganun naman talaga diba kung sino ang gusto natin yun ang imposibleng mapasaatin”. I’d like to share my thoughts about this just how Mam Noemi enlightened our class about right love at the wrong time. I think she’s right that such love doesn’t exist.  If you love someone at the wrong time hence it’s wrong. I believe that just because you like someone, it doesn’t mean that you have to be with him and all in good time things will go on its course. Sabi nga ni mam, “magmahal sa tamang panahon at sa tamang pagkakataon ayusin muna ang sarili.” I just turned 19. I’m striving hard in my studies for my aspirations in life and I have a long long way to go. Besides, I always have my family, friends, and God with me. I’m thankful for all those people. I love them all. They’re the best! Kaya haay love life it is not our time, yet.  

P.S. HAHAba last na here’s mah fav quote abt love, “When you lose your phone or your keys 9 out of 10 you’ll find it when you stop looking. That’s the same basic principle in love. Focus on improving yourself and let love run its course.”

Out of Tune

It was the music that stole my heart. I sing with different colors. Red is the ephemeral sound i heard from the strings that were strummed in perfection. The music lingers in my soul, it keeps playing on my mind. It is gratifying as I’m delivered in cloud-nine. Symphony was tuneful and incredulous from an angel’s voice, a euphony that’s so good to hear.Until it ceased. Rueful as the melody comes to its end. Blue is the ephemeral music I heard from the last strum. The melody was all evanescent.You’re the music who broke the harmony. The strings were broken, my beat was stolen and i lost my rhythm. I will find the right track.

A Great Loser

What a failure. You failed. Yes, you failed. Gosh you failed again. Guess what, you’re a failure because you failed. I FAILED!

Well, I don’t really fail, like it is really an epic fail, but it seems like I failed. This is how my mind annoys me whenever I did not succeed at doing something, setting aside the fact that I exerted a huge effort and really prepared for it. I fail on try-outs, student duties, love life?, helping others, being a responsible citizen, I fail myself. And If I fail myself even more i might fail my family and i would never want that to happen.These are the times when a motivation, a simple source of inspiration is highly needed. Moreover, everyone experienced failing at something. Ei. That is the essence of life, to fail repeatedly, reflect shortly and learn from it. I know this sounds too mainstream but at least it is true.  

How do I, a great loser, deal with this? I’m 18 now; thus, I should be able to handle failures and life’s adversities with grace. I let myself feel sad. I mourn less, and cry if I feel like it, reflect, and move forward. I keep on giving myself a pat on the back. Face the music; we are all going to lose at some point or shall I say several times. Let us not dwell on our tragedies. We can’t win it all. All-time winners hardly grow and learn. Do not treat loss as a failure for it is not the end. It is not a game over and a K.O. in life. Furthermore, It is like a mother who has a power to enlighten us whenever we are down and friend who manages to bring a smile on our faces. Loss is created for us to strive, aspire harder, and gather our unrealized dreams.

I’m great, this I know. I’m a loser, this I know. I admit I’m one of those great losers and this helped me to be comfortable, accept my own skin, and lose unashamedly. HEY! I’m a great loser and that is not bad.

Lesson Unlearned

I’m still stuck in the past, it stings. There are scars I’m still mending. Unexpectedly, you emerged like a shooting star, for a while you surpassed the light of the others. You brightened the night for a moment. Everything was quick. I was right. I’ve seen this before. You gave me sweet temporary moments that kept me lost in reverie. It’s probably those small talks, late night conversations, the laughs I hear from you from afar, the simple joy of having someone to talk to, one who understands you, and the one who also suffers but still manage to smile. All these made me face these foolish and childish things I restrained myself from. The moments aren’t like a good place you want to keep on visiting every summer. I’m tired but I kept thinking about it. I keep on shattering and mending. I’m tired but still I want to think about it. I never expected a quiet life and you came striking like a lightning. You left me in the middle of the road alone in the storm you brought. I’m still asleep. I was never astir. It was my mistake I have to accept.

Summer and Blues

I’m freezing in the sun, I’m burning in the rain

How ironic it is to smile with the pain

(CHAR! haha)

(Every summer I only have few things to do; most of the time I listen to my playlist, overthink, and obsess about life’s problems and simple precious moments.) 

It’s a bittersweet feeling when you know you got to let a person go (parang mas angat yung bitter). Not because you’ve been together but because you know you’ll never be together, liking him won’t save the world, and especially he likes someone else. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean you have to be with him. If you really love someone you’ll be genuinely happy for them, you know what is the best for them regardless of how painful it can be.  (NAKAKABALIW NA TO) It’s bizarre how I manage to set aside my feelings. I know that my young life shouldn’t be spent trying to fall in love or worrying about a partner. (maturity na to diba?) 

Love is composed of 3 factors. First is Passion, the physical or sexual desire towards a person we like. Second is intimacy, it is when we feel open towards someone, share our thoughts with them, feel comfortable with that person;thus, having a mutual understanding. Last is Commitment, it is when a person decides to be with someone they like for the rest of their life through ups and downs. Having a simple crush is under passion, infatuation happens under both passion and intimacy, while love covers all three factors. Blessed are those who are happily in love and those who are out of love. Yung love makakapaghintay yan, kung hindi, hindi yan love. Besides there are plenty of ways on how to say I love you; like, “ok lang yan”, “pray ka lang”, “ingat ka”,”salamat”, “kaya mo yan”, etc.

This summer is extra special for I’ve done things I thought I couldn’t do for a friend and for myself na rin. 

I will do the things I like, I will go with the flow of life, and I’ll enjoy every second of it with my family and friends. 

Moreover, It’s time to organize little by little all the chaos and curiosity in our inner child’s mind for us to step higher and move on the next stage. There will be insurmountable problems we need to face and sacrifices we need to do, all for the magnified future ahead of us. BEHOLD!  These teenage years should be spent on creating a better version of ourselves, maturing continuously, as well as building friendships.

optimistically pessimistic

Warning: I’m sad and I just want to release all these cynical thoughts of mine. This composition might get gloomy pls. understand my emotional state. haha

 (I write so that the feelings I suppress will be expressed.) 

So far, today is the most wonderful day of my 2016! (ooopss April fools pala ngayon) The thing about being a teenager is that hormones are always imbalanced. I woke up wearing my positivity but things didn’t worked out according to plan and now i’m feeling unhappy. I’m a typical teen, I’m insecure, broke, always hungry, broken-hearted, curious, and most of the time pessimistic.

 If I’m going to be part of the movie Inside Out I’ll be the perfect character as Sadness. What makes me down most of the time is that honestly, just like Sadness, I also have a cynical view of the world. However, I love being positive and happy, like Joy, but I don’t know why a lot of things in this world make it hard for me to be optimistic. I’m a sensitive person and often insecure about myself. On the other side, I hate crying but once I let it all out and I sunk in my river of tears I felt relieved of the heavy weight of life’s problems. Crying is never the solution but it makes me feel better. I’m not afraid anymore to break down, it gives me opportunity to reform myself and become stronger.   Moreover, I’m always thinking about the what-ifs of life and I end up over analyzing things, so it makes me even more sad and pessimistic.

(It’s April 2 hah! and I failed to finish this yesterday) 

It’s April fools day yesterday and I thought of my life as a joke. Here’s why. I failed to eat breakfast and groggily, I went to school. Inside the jeepney, I looked for my phone in my bag; unfortunately, I left it while charging.The moment I took a step out of the vehicle I felt like I was about to collapse. I need to study for an oral exam (yung notes ko nasa phone arghh!), online exam, and finish some school work such as term papers and assignments which I also falied to do. Thanks to the chocolate bread and chocolate drink I bought my body was able to withstand my misfortunes. Chocolate is certainly an effective treat to cure grief. 

I thought yesterday will end as bad as I thought it will be but I’m wrong. You know what, the things that make one whole day complete are those misfortunes, bad, and undesirable experiences we face. Somehow, these catastrophes taught us how to be tough and be a fighter in life more than the good ones. But, just like the Yin-Yang symbol that represents opposite energies who cannot exist without each other; likewise, in life there cannot be joy without sadness and sadness without joy. It is all about our ability to balance contrasting energies. Yet, we must wear our tragedies as armors not shackles. Furthermore, my friends are there to help me knock down sadness. When I’m on the verge of giving up, God never fails to be there to rescue me. It’s like He already have the outline of what my day is going to be. God always gives unexpected blessings. Our lab examination was cancelled which is supposedly today; hence, I’m able to go back here in Batangas earlier than expected which means that I’ won’t be late for my lola’s birthday. (heto na ohh pinapalabas na ako at magbloblow na ng candle si lola!)
