This week at JBWC was all about banned books. Kathleen Delaney, archivist at Canisius College, talked to students about books that have been banned, as well as why they were banned. Later, students discussed why or why not some books should be banned, and gave examples of banned books that meant a lot to them. Students read passages from their beloved banned books, and one student even shared an insightful comic he created on the topic.

We are so grateful for our visit from Celes Tisdale this Tuesday who taught us about "The Writer's Impulse" and who gave us a captivating look into Black History through black poets. One of our favorite quotes, though, was "[To be a writer] you must experience as much as you can. Legally."
