They had been at it for hours. The amount of foreplay going into this was absolutely insane, but Jared was so fucking riled up that he was going dizzy from how much he wanted her. The amount of heat building up could make just about anyone else pass out but here they were covered in sweat, sliding against each other, but never really connecting. Not in the way she so desperately wanted. It left the beta chuckling as his mouth suckled at her neck gently. She was certainly beginning to get demanding, and honestly? It fucking turned him on all the more as he moved to loom over her. “Do you, now?”

Leaning back on his knees, he gave his length a couple of slow tugs, nudging her legs apart with his knees while his free hand trailed along her slit, testing just how wet she was. All for him. “I think you might be right about that, baby girl.” He murmured before he lifted her hips, settling her on his thighs so he could properly line himself up to her dripping entrance. Teasing at first, he pushed the head in, little by little. Only rocking himself in an inch or two, driving her wild. He could tell he was getting to her, the way she tossed her head, the way she bit her lip, the frustrated moans that left her. “All the way inside?” He watched her nod before he gave her just that, every inch of him, throbbing and ready to take her. Jared had to admit, he kinda felt the same. Ever since they had finally caved into their feelings (in all the ways), he felt this urge to never have her leave his side. But of course, they both had other obligations. Other things to take care of beforehand. And he couldn’t just ask her to move in with him, she was caring for Annalisa. But still, he wanted her to stay with him. “So don’t leave anymore. Just stay.” He finally got out before he met her gaze. “Because I sleep like shit without you, too.”

She would, though. Jared knew that. He looked at her as she confessed what she thought was the truth and his heart broke a little. Moving closer, he took her face in his hands. “Listen to me. You are so fucking beautiful, you have no idea.” He murmured as he kissed her gently. “And someone better is going to know that. Someone is going to make you feel like you are infinite and you are Quinn but...” Shaking his head, tears dripped freely. “I’m no good for you. I’m no good at all....” He felt sobs wracking her and shut his eyes. “I’ve done so many bad, terrible things, and I just don’t deserve you.” Wrapping her up closer, he buried his face in her neck. “But I feel the same way. I don’t know what the fuck I’m supposed to do without you...” The tears were now a constant trail down his cheeks. “I thought I had a plan but I don’t. I have no idea what the fuck I’m doing. I don’t know how to make this right, I can’t make my fucking head stay on straight I’m so... I just need you to tell me this is okay..... Tell me I’m doing the right thing for both of us, please....”

Part of what Jared hated about being in the pack was that he could never have secrets. So he always did what he could to keep certain things out of his brain. And the only person he trusted them with was Lennon, or Angela. Two of the people closest to him, two of the people able to peel back the layers he built up to maintain a tough exterior. And yet, one day while running with Paul a private conversation came to light and Jared was furious. So furious, he didn’t talk to Lennon for about two weeks until she came knocking on his door. He’d almost ripped it off in his ire. “Messed up? That’s putting it kinda lightly, don’t you think?” He snarled, stepping forward. He must’ve looked angry enough because she scrambled back from him, and for the first time looked mildly afraid.

“I trust you. I trust you with things I don’t trust with anyone else, Sam, Cami, Paul. Things I’m afraid to say to them and you just go and tell Paul the one thing I needed you to keep quiet.” His jaw clenched and released, over and over again. “You are my family, Len. And sometimes we don’t like our family, we get to be angry, but I still love you. Right now, though? I need you to back the hell off. You fucked me on this one. You got everyone up my ass worried. I’m the beta. My place is to care for the pack, and look after Sam. I am no one’s burden.” He paused then before he sighed, and moved close, slowly. Wrapping his arms around her shoulders, he kissed the top of her head. “I love you, Len, but you gotta let me be mad for a lil.”

At her confirmation that was all Jared needed.  His lips covered hers again, but this time, he lifted her up in his arms and carried her to the closet place he could manage with eyes shut without banging her into everything and sat on the couch with her in his lap. His house didn’t feel like home right now. It had been taken care of but it was still so empty feeling, so he focused on the moment right in front of him, hands all over every inch of her he could manage. He pulled away to pull his shirt up and off before hands framed her face again, pulling her down to meet him as he lost himself in everything she was.

Steady hands made their way to them hem of her shirt and he broke the kiss again to look at her. “Can I?” He knows the answers going to be yes, but he doesn’t stop himself from asking. It’s not in his nature. She’s kept herself so well guarded from everyone that it’s only right to ask before he starts shedding layers.

Len I can barely keep my head on straight these days.” He offered as they walked over to the counter. His eyes lit up at the sight of the perfectly made little gems and he hummed. “I might take the whole pan.” He murmured, wagging his brows before he really thought on how to answer. “You know, I.... I feel like I can’t make up for not being a better imprint earlier. I didn’t want her to have to settle for me, but she’s never seen it like that and I just...” He canted his head and blinked a few times. “I’m always getting her hurt somehow. Not accepting the imprint, accepting it and then... poofing away. She’s always getting the tail end of my decisions.” He looked over at Len and shrugged. “I like to think there’s gonna be fewer bad days now, but how do I promise that?”

               nodding her head , angela allowed him to have a few moments to himself. it was a large change , something that angela was holding back from many of her peers , thankful that jared was able to understand due to his own circumstances. it had been an accident , an accident that was not supposed to happen , but she was adapting & adapting very well according to the cullen family. ‘‘ maybe a bit more emotional , but i’m doing good. i’m managing better than most , ’’ she said with a small smile before it faded , shaking her head. ‘‘ you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for , jar. ’’

Jared hated to admit it but he felt the want of tears to well up as he looked at her. Sure, he didn’t have anything to be sorry for but that didn’t make it any less so. He was supposed to protect his friend and instead, he managed to allow her into harms way. Not something that was supposed to happen. “Is this why you’ve been so MIA?” He asked finally. “You haven’t been here in a while. I mean, besides the whole past six months thing.”

As she grinned at him, he chuckled. “Well, I can’t say a return from the dead was something I had in mind but you know... I’m finding it’s not as fun as the movies make it out to be. Of course there’s no biting into people, eating flesh, or walking into other dead people so we’re already ten steps better than the regular zombie movies. Or maybe we just haven’t really had a good run of being back yet. Who knows.” Shrugging, he looked back to the ocean. “But then again I’m not doing 100% so... I guess I could be a little better.”

From before probably meaning the meeting. Jared raised his brows and shrugged. “Thought I was doing everyone a solid by taking eyes off the rest of the people. Trust me, that wasn’t done for fun.” He murmured. Nodding, he looked back out at the water. “I’m tired. I know I am. But I just can’t seem to get any rest.” He explained. Like he was continuously running on empty. “I wish I could explain that, but... I got nothing to explain it with.”

‘Half of them can’t be trusted’ automatically made Jared not trust her. But that was neither here nor there. Standing up, he turned so he was properly facing the other being, red eyes automatically sending a small wave of disgust through his bones. He never really did like the real blood drinkers because that meant people were getting hurt to satiate a diet. “High places, huh? What’s high places want with a guy like me?”

“don’t take this the wrong way,”   jer said as he approached,  “but you look pretty down in the dumps.”  he wasn’t sure, maybe it was his own series of unrelenting trauma that allowed him to be so cavalier in this moment.  “i can’t imagine why.  it’s not like half the town just vanished into thin air for months like we were in some sci-fi movie.”  he added, trying to remove any sense of malice from the comment.  it was dumb, he probably shouldn’t have said anything anyway.  he felt for the guy, and he was sure whatever jared was going through blew just as much as anything he’d experienced.  

Jared knew Jeremy, just barely but enough. “I was part of that dumb sci-fi movie.” He murmured as the other spoke to him. Looking back to Jer he shrugged his shoulders. “I can’t sleep. Everytime I sleep I have flashbacks to a shit show I wasn’t really around for. I have nightmares about all of the people I care about and then some. And I also can’t keep my head on straight during the day because I’m not sleeping.”

Annalisa had been out on a morning hike, a habit she developed during the past six months of living on the reservation.  Coming out from the forest edge, she paused for a moment, taking in all she was seeing before moving to sit next to him, writing as she walked so when she sat the book plopped into his lap.  ‘if you are thinking about jumping, I’m gonna have to kill you.’

As the book dropped on his lap, he looked up with a brow raised. “Really?” He made sure she was looking at him, his sign language still a little rough around the edges as he shook his head. “I’d like to think we both know that I’m just a bit too vain for the whole ending my own life thing.” He explained as he made room for her. “No, just having trouble sleeping is all.”

He could always tell when someone was being friendly with him, and when someone was being rude on their own terms. So he bristled ever so slightly at the tone in her voice. “Something tells me you only listen when its convenient for you.” He murmured. “I’ve got enough undead friends, I’m not entirely sure I need one more.”

━━━     ˊ     *     ♡       ◟    𝑒𝓈𝓂𝑒 𝒸𝓊𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓃      ┆       IT  WAS  FAIRLY  EASY  to  figure  out  what  she’d  been  up  to  prior  to  falling  into  the  space  with  the  shifter  .  the  color  of  her  eyes  now  golden  ,  swirling  pools  of  thick  honey  &  maybe  with  hem  of  her  shirt  was  splattered  with  an  animals  life  ,  she  wasn’t  a  messy  eater  by  far  ,  but  burying  the  body  was  always  a  messy  ordeal  .  but  she  was  alone  ,  having  chosen  to  hunt  on  her  own  ,  taking  a  leisurely  stroll  back  towards  her  home  ,  it  was  how  she  stumbled  upon  the  young  shifter  ,  she  could  almost  taste  his  emotions  in  the  air  ,  though  she  was  no  empath  .   she  held  no  ill  will  against  the  packs  of  la  push  ,  despite  the  smell  .  she  couldn’t  truly  bring  herself  to  wish  anything  but  good  fortune  on  them  ,  after  all  she  was  apart  of  the  reason  as  to  why  they  were  what  they  were  ,  she  knew  .    ❝              it  doesn’t  work  .   ❞   she  cannot  begin  to  know  what  he’s  thinking  but  if  it  was  anything  like  what  she  had  experienced  all  those  years  ago  ,  sitting  on  a  cliff  (  read:  throwing  yourself  off  of  it  )  doesn’t  truly  work  .  

Out of all of them, Esme was the one he didn’t understand. But he didn’t have to. Jacob had once told him how warm she was, and how kind. Jacob wasn’t a liar, even if he was much gooier with the Cullen’s. He moved his eyes from the water to her before he nodded his head. “Yeah the whole gloomy brooding thing doesn’t really help anyone, but it sure gives you time to sort your mind.” He offered. “No worries. Even if I jumped I’d survive. I’ve been diving off these cliffs since I was a puppy. No pun intended.”

               angela had never understood emmett & edward when they warned her about her friendship with jared , how she wouldn’t be able to handle his scent. the word scent through her off , she wasn’t even able to understand what they were talking about until she was in the arms of one of her best friends & all she could smell was wet dog when she buried her face into his shoulder. ‘‘ yeah —- you don’t smell the best either , ’’ she muttered against his shoulder with a small laugh , making sure her grip was loose around him , not wanting to hurt him with her newborn strength. ‘‘ i hope so — i don’t want this to ruin our friendship , i’m still angela. i’m still —- the same. ’’

Letting her go after a moment, he looked down at her. “... I know.” It messed with his mentaility to admit that perhaps being a vampire wasn’t an end all be all sort of deal. Because he couldn’t. Ang meant way too much to him. He touched her cheek, hating the cold skin under his hand. But not the person the skin was home to. “You better be. I’d hate to have to show you how fluffy I can get.” The joke lingered on his lips followed by a broad smile. “Ang... I’m sorry.”
