I honestly needed this.
Fun fact my mammalogy teacher told me- the crest that baby cheetahs develop is thought to help disguise the cubs as hyenas or honey badgers! These are two large, fierce animals that most other animals don’t want to mess with. So cheetah cubs might be less likely to be attacked and killed by another predator.
Out of all the galaxies, constellation of stars, billions of people, and our paths collide. Don’t you ever realize how magical it is?

In celebration of National Bird Day, let’s talk about Hoatzins: they are the only living representatives of one of the most ancient lineages of birds, with origins about 64 million years ago. Young hoatzin have two claws on the bones that support their flight feathers, and if a chick falls from the nest, it can claw its way back to safety. Found in swamps around South America, Hoatzins are also commonly known as “stinkbirds.“ This species exclusively feeds on leaves, which are difficult to digest.
