josephine irving was born and raised in richmond, virginia, to two very loving parents, mark and cristina irving. mark is the breadwinner in the family; he owns an auto shop. cristina was a stay-at-home mom in the first few years of josie’s childhood, but when there seemed to be finance issues, cristina decided to go back to work as a medical receptionist. mind you, the irvings were always struggling when it came to money. but of course, as a child, josie had no idea until she got a little older.
josie’s first summer at a camp was when she was in second grade and it was hosted by her church. it had kind of a vacation bible study vibe to it and tbh josie wasn’t having it.. she saw the lindsay lohan version of the parent trap and begged her parents to let her go to one of those camps. unfortunately, mark and cristina didn’t have the funds for her to go to a nice camp like that.
on the bright side, they did some digging and discovered that there was a scholarship for low income families such as the irvings. they immediately signed up and received the scholarship almost instantly.
josie’s first year of camp evergreen in virginia was just before fourth grade began, and it was nice for the parents because virginia was only a state away from them.
most of middle and high school was pretty average at best-- she was, of course, apart of some extracurriculars such as the environmental club and took care of the school’s garden, but her favorite parts of the year were always when she was at camp.
once josie graduated from high school, she decided to take a gap year and instead work full time at camp evergreen as a program director. for the next four years, she was in charge of all the outdoor events that occurred at the camp. she quite enjoyed it, especially because she practically grew up with all of the people she worked with.
besides that, josie’s gap year turned into gap FIVE years. she still doesn’t know what she wants to study in college-- her backup plan if her parents force her to go is to get a business degree so she can open up her own camp one day. but for now, she is currently a program director at camp evergreen.

as far as her personality goes, she is down to do whatever. she’s a bit of a daredevil and loves to go adventuring, seeks thrill constantly, especially loves horror flicks. she’s on the stubborn side though, and if she has a strong opinion on something, good luck getting her to change her mind. josie is pretty tomboy-ish. catch her in an oversized “life is good” t-shirt with a backpack on at almost all times, and of course her chacos fit her perfectly. she’s pretty independent, but has a few close people that she can trust in her life.
as far as her instagram account goes, she has no idea how she even gained so many followers. tbh, i’m thinking it was probably from the mutual friends she has who have big accounts as well.

I did not want to think about people. I wanted the trees, the scents and colours, the shifting shadows of the wood, which spoke a language I understood.
