Hiking to the base of Ozone Falls, Grace and I stopped for a cell phone picture of her along the trail. The falls were almost in view. Once she saw the water, it would be an intruption in her attention to stop for anything other than just look at the falls.
It was Saturday after Thanksgiving. The rest of the family wanted to watch the UT Football game. Grace wanted to go take pictures. We watched a video I made from my outting to Ozone Falls last summer. That was her choice. Here she is.

Grammy volunteered us to take care of Sophia and Raven for a weekend when Coit was away with the Army and Danielle had to work. Saturday, about noon, we headed for Miss Lilly's for lunch, followed by the Cades Cove Loop Road.
Early Morning at Spirit Lake
The lady at Fat Cat Cafe told us the legion of Spirit, which was the Indian name for Grand Lake. It had to do with the Indian women and children of a village dying while taking refuge on the lake. After that the early morning fog over the lake was attributed to the spirits of those women and children.
Ozone Falls and Community
Bucket List Event - (Click Image for Video) For many years, I have thought I wanted to see Ozone Falls from a perspective other than watching the stream go over the edge. When I was in high school, the woman closest to my age in the bank where I worked talked about seeing it with her husband. Quite a few times I stopped there without climbing down the trail for all kinds of reasons. On this Saturday, I finally went there specifically for another perspective of the waterfall and accomplished it. Being under this cliff reminded me of Anasazi dwellings under cliffs of the Southwest. The Native Americans here probably lived under this cliff as well. Afterward, I explored the Crab Orchard and Crossville communities, including a walk through the Crossville Flea Market.
This has been on my bucket list way too long. Checked it off today.

To the Volunteer Health Program Team - I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to be with you. It is extremely rare that an amateur photographer gets a chance for a real photojournalism project like this. You helped me fulfill a vision I have carried many years – to capture the work of people on a mission trip for the purpose of bringing more resources to a worthy cause.
Father's Day Weekend 2012 - On the third day, we were out early, leaving the hotel just after sunrise and on the beach at Currituck before 7:30 AM – no breakfast yet. The storm was gone. The morning was beautiful. And, the wild horses seemed to be everywhere.
