okay random rant about skins pure and skins in general. I’ve seen a lot of the opinions about it be that it shouldn’t have been made or that’s it the worst one of s7. Tbh I loved pure the most. I feel like people want to see the characters live happy lives with good situations, but the lives of the characters in skins have situations that people deal with, the theme of the show is kind of teaching that things don’t always end with a happy ending. The characters don’t get what they want, but what they need or deserve. They have to deal with their consequences to their actions. The reason why I love pure so much is because, honestly Cassies life is not that bad, maybe it’s not ideal but it’s not unbearable. Cassies character has overcame mental illness, maybe she still kind of deals with it, but it shows that life goes on and that kind of gives me hope in a way, that a character with a rocky start still got through life. Cassie also got through it by herself in a way, she had people around her but she didn’t necessarily depend on people, she was alone and maybe lonely but didn’t let that loneliness destroy her. Maybe the story isn’t realistic because it’s literally a tv show but the living conditions and her life is still something I love. She is 23 and has a place where she lives and has a job and has people who care about her. Maybe it’s not as lavish but it’s still something. As a person who has no idea what the fuck I want to do with my life, it just is comforting that in a way if I had those type of living conditions, I think I would be okay with it. It’s comforting seeing a character that was struggling so much still lived and didn’t give up and got through so many hardships.
