Closed RP | Crossing Social Borders| Jean and Mikasa |Background Story Element
Mikasa raised her eyebrow, not expecting the boy in the front of her to be much more timid then he had seemed. She sighed, cocking her hip to the side in a sassy position. “I don’t just give names to random people who come up and talk to me.” There was a significant blush spreading across his cheeks, and Mikasa ignored it. It had to be some sort of act, she knew that he would laugh and try to flirt with her. Her boot tapped onto the ground, and she hoped that the subtle warning would prove helpful. One of her eyebrows rose up, and she shook her head.
Why in the world was he complimenting her? She unconsciously untied her scarf, then retied it again once more. Had he been watching her for weeks on end? Was he one of the bait teenagers, the ones that lured other teenagers into slavery? Or was he a stalker, his prime suspect…her? What a creep! She didn’t let her conflicting feelings effect her expression, and she kept her stone face, still tapping her boot on the floor. Could he have been watching Eren too? She gave a mental note to warn Eren to watch his back, for fear that the boy would go after him too. There was a knife hidden in her boot, and she tightened her grip on her basket.
"So, spill. What else have you been doing to find me here?" There could be no way that he knew she was here, unless he had been watching her for some time. "And thanks for the compliment." Her tone was dry, sarcastic. "What do you want?"
"N-nothing, i just..." He looked down at hear and furrowed his brow slightly. "Hey. There's no need to treat me like dirt. I was only paying you a compliment and asking your name." He muttered softly and crossed his arms in front of his chest with a small huff. He tried to soften his expression a bit after that, reminding himself that he was to keep his temper down.
He wondered why she was being so defensive. He didn't plan to hurt her. Did he look hostile or something? He wondered silently and gave his appearance a slight look-over to see if he appeared dangerous in any way. He didn't see anything of a threatening disposition, but dusted himself off anyway. God, why did things like this always happen to him? His kindness always came off as strange, and perhaps a bit unneeded. It was a rarity for him to give someone a polite introduction.
"Alright, you wanna know the truth?" He asked with a gravely tone, placing his hands slacked on his hips. "I just thought you looked different, and I sorta admired that." A slightly friendly smile found its way to his lips. He tilted his chin up slightly and continued speaking. "It's not every day you see a girl from a noble class that would rather appear simplistic. Its nice. Refreshing even. It shows people in my class that perhaps not all of you people are terrible and drunk on your power and wealth." He chuckles slightly. "That's all. I haven't been stalking you, just taking note of places that I see you. I mean no harm, honestly." He gave her a look that confirmed the truth behind his words.

It had been a good day for the rich today, Mikasa mused. Her hands were filled with various foods, and yet her money sack hadn’t lost much to truly endanger their funds. The courtyard was empty as it usually was, and she sighed in relief. She didn’t know what she would do if anyone was there, perhaps she would just awkwardly walk out and pretend she hadn’t meant to be there in the first place. But then again, it was her place…well, a place that always felt like hers. There was a skinny tree in the center of the courtyard, and she often remembered it always being the same height, not growing much anymore, but the roots firmly grounded. She stepped towards the tree, and saw the faint marks of a knife that she had marked with Eren to keep track of their heights. It had taken a little while for him to grow, but when he did, he towered over her considerably. My little brother. He might have been a stepbrother, but it didn’t matter much. It was just like they had the same blood, and she somehow knew that it had to be true. She knew when he was feeling angry (which was almost a lot of the time), and he knew what past buttons that he shouldn’t push when he was with her. Mikasa remembered when one of the girls with such bright red rouge on her lips had pointed at her, calling her strange, and Eren weird for hanging around a girl who was what they called ‘Oriental.’ She vaguely remembered being mad, and for once, she didn’t keep it in, and she yelled at the girl and called her strange, strange for having such bright makeup that could never disguise her spiteful nature.
She twiddled with the scarf around her throat, the soft material distinct and comfortable on her skin. It gave her color that her monochrome clothing and skin often sapped away, and not to mention the significance that it represented to her. She sighed, sitting down onto the cold courtyard floor, waiting for something that she couldn’t know.
A prickle of something pulled through her back, and she looked up from her musings, seeing a boy walking towards her with even, steady steps. He had coarse, two-toned hair, and an almost arrogant look filled his eyes. God, he wasn’t going to ask for a courting, or for her to join him to go somewhere, would he? His face was almost like….a horse. Chiding herself for being rude, and without much good judgement, she sat there for a few minutes, waiting for the inevitable meeting that would happen, whether she liked it or not. Just to be safe though, she stood, dusting off her dress with ease, adjusting the basket in her arms. He wouldn’t be trying anything funny if she couldn’t help it.
Jean slowed himself slightly as he approached her. His body jittered with nervousness as his feet brought him closer to the girl. He drew in a concentrated breath and stopped a few feet away from her. He froze and looked off to the side for a moment before opening his mouth and meeting her dark eyes. "I-I like your scarf." He spoke in a practiced tone, the noise of his voice cutting through the silence of the courtyard.
He felt like an idiot. What was he doing here? Why did he get himself into this? From the way the girl appeared, he was sure she thought he meant her harm, when in fact it was the complete polar opposite. He wouldn't cause anyone harm without good reason, although he would admit, he was guilty of picking a few fights over stupid things. But what could you expect from someone like himself? He was aggressive and easily angered and irritated. He couldn't help it if people pissed him off. Plus, he had a right to using defense mechanisms. Being of a poor class meant others around you were more desperate, and would go to lengths such as attacking you for your possessions.
Jeans face turned red as he continued to speak. "I don't know if you've seen me around, but I'm Jean." He mentioned and moved one of his hands to scratch the back of his head tensely. "W-Would you mind if I asked your name?"

Roma's rigid social class structure made every day difficult for those who were of lower classes. Jean, for example, had to keep his eyes peeled for merchants that would sell their supplies to that of his class. Usually, they would shoo you from their stands if they saw you were of a lower class than them. And in the regard of interactions with the hierarchy was unspokenly forbidden. It was unnatural for a street runner like Jean to have friends within the nobility classes, yet that's exactly what he wanted. He'd had his eyes on someone for a while now, a girl from an upper-class nobility. He'd had yet to learn her name, but something about her seemed extremely interesting. She never dressed like the other girls in the upper classes. As a matter of fact, she could pass off as a lower class. Most girls from nobilities wore elegant and complex dresses, decked out in makeup. But this girl wore dresses of less exquisite materials, simplistic ones, and a red scarf was always wrapped around her neck. Her black hair was straight and unflawed, and her face had a natural beauty to it. Jean had admired her for months, keeping a distance. He admired the way that she didn't fit in with the others, and had the ability to stick out a bit. He'd heard she was fifteen, same as him.
Months of thought had lead to this moment. He'd made the conscious decision to go find this girl and at least learn her name. He'd seen that she also had a brother. Eren, he recalled his name was. An attractive brunette boy with shocking jade eyes. Jean supposed he'd found an interest in him as well.
Jean's shoes hit hard against the pavement of the alleyways that lined the neighborhoods of the wealthy. He'd remembered that the girl was usually found outside in the courtyard of an array of mansions across the area. He was headed for that courtyard and had hoped to perhaps accidentally make her acquaintance. He hid against the corner of a building across from the courtyard and caught sight of a red scarf bellowing behind the figure of the girl he'd come to this very place to meet. He slowed his pace and held his breath, hoping his clothing wouldn't give away his poor background to the public eye. He fixed his choppy hair with his hands as his even steps brought him closer to her. He could all but hope she wouldn't find it strange that he just wanted the simplistic pleasure of knowing her name.

Hearing how he spoke to him. The words he used to describe him. It all seemed too good to be true. Their bodies grew closer together as he continued to speak. His mouth was for once completely stunned by the words of affection that Jean had provided. He felt like mush as he was drawn into Jean’s hold.
He could feel Jean’s lips began to explore his neck with uncertain passion meddled in. Uncertain? No. He was wrong about that. It was a longing sense in each kiss upon his skin. A kiss full of wonder and excitement.
He wrapped his legs around Jean’s waist as he could fell the steady throb of his heart. Hands gripped the folds of Jean’s shirt by his shoulders in any tempt to stay straight. He would become mush if Jean kept doing this to him.
"J-J..Jean." Eren mumbled transfixed by his precious love. The words hit home to Eren as he snuggled closer to Jean. His lips traveled to Jean’s neck as well. One kiss near the nape, one near his jugular, and up and up he went to his cheek and then finally to his lips. He kissed them with no hesitation in any of his thoughts.
"Damn I’m getting hot already." Eren managed to say through gasps of air. He chuckled though as he suddenly got up out of Jean’s lap. His fingers drifted to the rest of his buttoned up shirt. He had a plan though.
He looked at Jean with puppy dog eyes seeming to wash right his other thoughts out. “I can’t get the buttons undone. Dear c-can you help me?” Of course it was just a lazy excuse but he liked it when Jean’s hands and fingers delicately touched him. Like he was some fine piece of china. Not to be broken. Handled carefully.
Jean smirked and met Eren's gaze. He was always pulling some trick like that. Jean damn well knew he could get those buttons undone by himself, but Eren would rather feel Jean's hands graze his body. Jean gave off a soft giggle. "Of course, sweetheart." His fingertips felt for the first button, and he moved forward to kiss him with a slight hotness lining his lips. His tongue moved slowly across his lower lip as he began to slowly and precisely undo the buttons, making his shirt looser as more of his perfect skin was exposed.
Jean let his hands stray from the trail of buttons from time to time in order to feel Eren's chest. God, it even /felt/ heavenly. His lips parted a bit more, and he kissed him deeper, letting his tongue wander past the boundary of Eren's lips. He released a gentle moan into the other's mouth as he removed his fully unbuttoned shirt. He let his teeth join in the hotness of the kiss, nibbling gently at Eren's tongue, which was slightly hotter than his own, due to his body heat.
If only that moment could go on forever. Just like that. Eren's skin against Jean's nimble hands, connecting the two of them with a serene and perfect kiss. But Jean knew Eren had needs, and he was obligated to fulfill those.
Jean pulled away from the kiss just long enough to strip himself of his shirt, then reconnected their lips as he stood, holding Eren's body close to him. He carried him from the kitchen to his bedroom, never straying from the kiss. He closed the door with his heel and lay Eren on the bed, keeping himself above him throughout the hot mixture of their saliva being exchanged.
Eren chuckled as he heard Jean’s words. “Getting sauced up? I think that is my goal. I have something else in mind. Let me get more numbed.” he mumbled through already lazy lips. Jean’s voice was very comforting. Comforting in a sexual way too. He was definitely getting turned on. He could see Jean staring at him. Those amber eyes pouring into his soul. He liked it. He enjoyed being looked at.
A gentle squeeze of the hand as he took another draught of wine. Eyes blinked up to Jean’s. He smirked as he felt Jean’s leg press up against his shin. He wanted him to beg. He stopped for a second. What was he saying about any of this? It was definitely the wine grabbing ahold of his consciousness and twisting it.
"You want me?" Eren mumbled as he suddenly stood up staring straight at Jean’s face. The gentle curve of his cheeks and the already pressuring blush coming onto his cheeks. He stuck his neck up high to look definitive. "I think getting me drunk is probably the only way I’m going to let you. However…I’m not quiet ready yet. Give me a second."
He broke eye contact with Jean and instantly jumped towards him until he was standing right in front of him.
"Do you really love me, Jean?" Eren whispered letting his lover’s name slur on his tongue. He could taste his name. Fingers collapsed over his shirt as he began to slowly unbutton the frail fabric. His collar was loosened exposing a little bit of his chest to his lover. He swung his head to look at him straight in the eyes. "Tell me why you love me Jean. Tell me all the ways you do."
Jean blushed crimson and gazed up at Eren. God, he was such a tease. His lips parted slightly, giving his composure a bit of a pleased yet shocked look. "O-of course I love you, Eren. With every bit of my being. " He replied truthfully. How could he /not/ love him? Everything about the man was exquisite. His eyes followed Eren's fingers as they unbuttoned his shirt and smirked as his collar was loosened. And finally, he caught a glimpse of that perfect chest. He bit his lip softly, then met the jade eyes of his lover.
"I love you because you're exceptional in every aspect of your being, Eren. Every damn aspect. Internal and external." He spoke gently, light like a feather. He reached a hand up and rested it and rested it softly against his cheek. He stroked his thumb along his cheekbone slowly as he continued to speak. "Honey, if I told you every way that I loved you, it would take me an eternity to finish." A smile appeared on his soft lips and he whispered "Lets just say that I would give my world for you, I would wreck myself down into nothing if that's what would make you happy." His eyes gave an honest confirmation that what he said was true.
Every bit of himself. That's what he would give for Eren. Everything he had, everything he was, everything he would ever amount to be. Anything and everything, because he was worth that much. Perhaps even more. If Jean could have taken the moon from the sky and brought it down for him, he would do it in a heartbeat. Eren had helped him reach new highs in his life, and helped him out of the lowest lows he'd hit. So if Eren wanted anything, all he had to do was ask Jean, and it would be done. Anything, anything at all. He was the sole reason that Jean breathed. Why he kept pushing on. Why he would never give up or surrender.
Jean pulled Eren down into his lap, having him face him. He fixated his lips against the side of Eren's neck and kissed it softly, his lips being as gentle as a breeze. Hands moved to Eren's slender hips and gripped at them softly, then pulled him just a bit closer, so that his abdomen was pressed against Jean's. Jean continued to softly kiss and occasionally nip his teeth at the nape of his neck with a sly smirk. Eren deserved to feel good. He whispered soft compliments as he went along. "Your eyes are like stars, Eren." he murmured, then layed another kiss against his neck. "Absolutely flawless, that's what you are."
He sipped the crimson liquid again. The pleasant aura coming from the liquid sent him wanting it more. It. Did he mean the strange liquid or Jean? Eyes slowly peeled away from his crystal glass and into the amber orbs of Jean Kirschtein. The man he had seen so many years ago as just someone else in the world. Now he saw him differently. Someone filled with such compassion.
He licked his lips as they began to get tangy. They desired the burning sensation of Jean more than ever.
"Forewarning I’m going to get rid of these thoughts in my brain. I’m getting drunk. Care to join me?" Eren said grabbing his wine and taking a giant swig. It tasted really good. "Or unless you can help stop these dark memories haunting me?"
Eren stuck a finger in his mouth as he stared at Jean’s eyes of desire. They really were. Those everlasting orbs of amber seemed to glow with rich gold. The hold that Jean had given him for his hand. It seemed to burn into his flesh. The desire to be with Jean only seemed to worsen.
In a sigh he grabbed the jug of wine and took a giant swig from the bottle. Already he felt loopsy and out of his thinking process. He chuckled letting the wine soak into his body. The memories were already disappearing.
Jean smirked. "I'd love to join you." He replied, toasting his wine glass to Eren as he downed the rest of it and refilled it, taking lengthy sips from his glass. A sudden rush pulled through Jean's body, and his skin became slightly warmer along with the feeling in the back of his head, accompanying the blissful drowning of his tattered up dark thoughts. His mind pulled from everything having to do with the creed and all that was left was Eren. Just him. The gorgeous, alluring figure before him.
"Did you only say yes to the wine because you wanted me all sauced up like this~?" He asks, leaning against the table and locking gazes with Eren as he bit his lip just slightly. He moved his leg under the table and rubbed it up against Eren's with a smirk. He took another sip of his wine, polishing off his fourth glass.
His eyes moved to Eren's lips. God, how badly he wanted to kiss them. He wanted to kiss him rough and hard, and pull him into his room and lock the door behind them. He gave Eren's hand a squeeze and murmured softly "Eren, do you have any idea how badly I want you?" he questioned ad he slowly moved his leg up the side of Eren's shin. Closeness. He wanted it now. He wanted to be pressed all up against that boy, and he wanted no room to breathe. But he had to contain himself. Wait until Eren was ready.
In reluctance, he poured another glass and began in on it, keeping his amber eyes on his, the occasional smirk finding its way to his lips as he drank, drowning deeper and deeper into thoughts and desires for Eren.
He smiled and gave his hands a light squeeze “Y-you mean it?” He spoke with a certain happy tone to his voice. Jean never wanted to be apart from Eren, simply because he was his world. And having him back in his arms every day would absolutely work wonders for himself, but he was sure it would work wonders for Eren as well.
Amber eyes glowed in the dim light of the room, brightened only by the luminescence of the jade eyes before him. Those eyes he had seen as majestic, perhaps even magical. His eyelids came down slightly, giving himself a softened appearance. An appearance that showed that he was so immersed in his feelings for Eren.
"You are so perfect." He murmured, simply taken away by the whole entirety of the situation. Eren was going to move back in. They were going to let their lives together begin. And things would be so much better. Jean couldn’t wait. "I’ll help you move in as soon as you’re ready, sweetie. There’s no rush." He smiled softly and leaned over the table to give Eren a soft kiss.
He released his hands with a gentle smile, and took another sip of his wine. The heat of the alcohol down his throat soothed him, and relaxed him slightly, leaving a nice buzz near the back of his head. His intention wasn’t to get drunk, but he would only drink as much as Eren did.
Eren saw him content. A content-fullness that he enjoyed to stare at. That look of complete happiness splash over Jean’s face was it. He was grateful to be loved by such a kind and loving person such as Jean. “I mean every word…Every bit of it. I would never lie to someone I care about so much.”
The glow in his eyes only increased as he looked at him. His heart seemed to snap with the look that he gave him. His lips tingled with anticipation. It might’ve been the sweetness of the wine he drank to avoid the gaze that Jean gave him.
"You are so perfect."
Eren’s heart fluttered with those words. He wanted to hear those words. He loved this feeling of being accepted. Lips formed some kind of word but was stopped with more words of Jean.
"Okay!" Eren blurted out as his cheeks blushed. His heart even still fluttered lightly under the thin shirt. He got his answer. The kiss he wanted. It was only brief but that had sealed it. That kiss sealed his fate with Jean forever.
He took another gulp of wine with shaky fingers. Already he could feel the buzz coming from the wine. It wasn’t that strong but he would have to drink a lot.
He fumbled around for the glass as he took another swig. The burning sweet sensation drifting down his throat. “Can..I tell you something Jean?” Eren mumbled through numbed lips. “Do you want to…tonight…in celebration…” He couldn’t look at him in the eyes. To be honest, Eren had never before asked if they could fuck. Tonight was different. They would be together. The would love together. It was a night of celebration.
Jean's eyes shot over to Eren's, glimmering with a sudden dust of seduction as he took another sip of his wine. A smirk rose to the corner of his lips as he spoke his next words. "That's completely up to you. I wont stop it if it happens~" He let out a gentle chuckle and moved one of his hands across the table, placing it on top of Eren's.
He reached behind him and took up the bottle of wine in his hand, then poured some more into their glasses and set the bottle down on the table. Eren's mention of wanting to have sex made Jean blush slightly, due to thoughts that rimmed his mind. Often, he had thoughts of Eren's body, but having Eren in front of him only increased his thoughts and desires.
It made him think back to the first time they'd fucked. It was here, in this very house. They'd been in love for months, but nothing has gone beyond kissing and holding hands. Jean had offered Eren to stay the night at his house, considering they'd spent the day together and it was getting late, and he didn't want Eren walking all the way home in the dark alone. Jean remembered how thick the tension in the air was at first, and how Eren must have felt that too, because he pounced on him and kissed him with such a deep passion that it nearly knocked the breath out of him, and things just escalated from there. Clothes landed wherever they were thrown, and he remembered how fucking gorgeous Eren looked in the moonlight shining in from the window. His lean, muscular body arching and squirming beneath Jean as he gave him what he begged for, his facial features turning more euphoric with each thrust. God, that night was unforgettable.
Jean subconsciously bit his lip as he remembered the burlesque scene and blushed, looking down at Eren's hand beneath his own. He took another sip of wine in order to restrain himself from taking Eren right then and there.
A shocked noise came out of Eren’s mouth as Jean mentioned he had never drank either. He felt glad though. He wouldn’t be completely embarrassed if he got drunk. He wouldn’t mind it though. the numbing idea of his memories suddenly disappearing all seemed alluring to him.
A glass soon perched in his fingers as he took a delicate sip. It tasted sweet and tangy with the strong hint of alcohol. He coughed loudly as it burned his esophagus. “Sorry.” He blushed slightly as he downed his soup. He had eaten his own recipes all the time and he didn’t seem to think of the taste. He never judged his own cooking. If it was food he would eat it.
"I’m glad you like it!" Eren said through a mouthful of the hot soup. The wine with the delicate taste of the soup all seemed to make it extra tasty.
Jean’s voice stopped him from raising another spoonful of soup to his mouth. “M-Move in? That would be fantastic!”
The first time he had tried to move in it was a hassle. People got questions as it was too obvious of their relationship. They had to stop seeing each other at their house. Occasionally they went to Eren’s house. He hated going to his house though. Too many memories. He never really went there after missions. He always went to Jean’s. Now that their relationship was secretive again he planned too with all his heart.
"Let’s move in Jean. Then we’ll never be apart again." He grabbed Jean’s hands with a pleasant smile creasing his face.
He smiled and gave his hands a light squeeze "Y-you mean it?" He spoke with a certain happy tone to his voice.
Jean couldn't wait. "I'll help you move in as soon as you're ready, sweetie. There's no rush." He smiled softly and leaned over the table to give Eren a soft kiss.
He released his hands with a gentle smile, and took another sip of his wine. The heat of the alcohol down his throat soothed him, and relaxed him slightly, leaving a nice buzz near the back of his head. His intention wasn't to get drunk, but he would only drink as much as Eren did.
Jean’s eyes met Eren’s and a smile rose from the corners of his lips. “This love will never cease to exist, Eren… One this great could never shatter… I promise you that.” He said reassuringly as he let his hand travel up to Eren’s hair, lightly stroking at it. “You’re always going to have me. I’ll never ever hurt you, and I swear that.” He sighed softly and pulled him in for a gentle kiss. “You are precious to me.” He mumbled as he pulled his lips away. A small smirk began to form. “Now, come on. Lets eat before we both starve to death. Its been a long day, and that soup smells absolutely brilliant.” He smiled.
Jean released Eren and walked to the cupboard, removing two bowls from the contents of it. He grabbed two spoons on his way over to the small wooden table, just big enough for the two of them. Jean never saw the need for a bigger table, considering it just took up more space and he was the only one that really ever ate there, save for Eren on special occasions.
Come to think of it, Eren was the only reason Jean had even put a second chair at that table. And he’d never admit it, but every night at supper, Jean would set out an extra place for Eren, just in case he ever decided to come in some night and join him.
Jean sat the bowls down in front of the chairs and carefully layed the spoons next to them. He looked over at Eren with a smile. “Does having you here for dinner count as a special occasion? Cause if so, I think its time I open that bottle of wine you gave me a few years ago.” He chuckles. “I’ve been waiting for some time to share it with you.”
Eren felt like he was floating with all the words that Jean had mumbled into his air. All the words that touched his heart. He loved it. How he meant all of his words. He really did mean it. The softness of his lips met once again and he shivered under his impact. He let go. That feeling he wanted to last forever. The feeling of being wanted.
"Uh…Oh y-yeah let’s eat." He got up abruptly so he couldn’t see him blushing. In a matter of seconds he had his bowl filled with the delicious aroma of the food. Settling down at the rickety wooden table felt good. Almost homey and welcoming. All the meals he had eaten here with Jean. The memories they had made.
"Wine? Sure!" Eren hadn’t drank wine before even with Jean. He wouldn’t mind drinking as it was a celebration. They hadn’t seen each other in so long anyway. A celebration it would be indeed. "I haven’t drank before…" He mumbled quickly avoiding any gaze that Jean would give him.
Jean nodded and returned to the cupboard, removing the bottle of wine and two wine glasses. "Thats okay, I've only drank a few times, myself." He chimed, settling the glasses at the table and opening the bottle. He'd only drank when he wanted to forget. And even then, it barely worked. He poured the dark crimson liquid into the glasses and set the bottle on the counter, then took a seat at the chair across from Eren.
He took a bite of the soup and groaned at the mouth watering flavors all mingling together within the mixture. "It tastes even better than it smells!" He exclaimed, taking another bite. Eren was good at cooking, but this was just plain phenomenal. He paused to take a sip of his wine, savoring the flavors.
His eyes met Eren's and he smiled softly It was truly amazing to have him there again. "H-hey, Eren.... If we ever get the chance, would you want to maybe try to move in again...?" He questioned with a slightly worried look. He knew it would be difficult, but Jean thought that they could definitely make it work. After all, they /were/ getting married.
The ink flowed along the paper quickly, Jean’s hand moving hastily to finish his work. He hummed softly as he wrote down everything he knew about his target’s death and how it had happened. He felt the stare of Eren’s eyes on him from across the room, and smiled gently. He loved when Eren would regard him so fondly. It reminded him that he wasn’t just an assassin, but a person that had a life. A history. A lover. The best lover.
God, Eren was just exquisite. Every little bit of him spoke to Jean in a way unconveyable to someone other than himself. His features left him breathless. Such elegance and ruggedness and serenity all combined into a beautiful package, that was Eren. Jean bit his lip softly. Just imagining his beautiful little fiance was enough to make him crave him. Even in the same exact room that he stood. Close was never close enough.
The room filled with the pristine aroma of the stew, and Jean’s stomach grumbled. He lifted himself from his desk, being finished with his work and made his way over to Eren. He walked behind him and wrapped his arms around the brunette’s waist, resting his jaw on his shoulder. “It smells absolutely great, sweetie.” He commented, giving his waist a light squeeze. He turned his head a bit and kissed Eren’s cheek with a soft giggle.
He buried his face against Eren’s neck and drew in a deep breath, wrapping his arms around Eren’s chest. And for the first time in a while, Jean felt content. Just being there, holding him, smelling his scent, feeling his olive toned skin, and just indulging in the simple moment.
Eren watched him enter back into the kitchen. A smile tugging his lips as he entered the small room. The smell of the soup wafted around the cramped little house but it didn’t seem to make the house lonely anymore which seemed more like a goal in Eren’s mind eye.
He long arms of Jean wrapped around him. Eren fell into them with delight and pleasure. “You think?” Eren said gloating with pride. “I added a lot of vegetables. I know you like carrots so I added a bit more just in case.” Eren’s spirits soared when he kissed him on the cheek.
"Jean…You are so warm." He mumbled with a slight chuckle. "Even though I have this beast inside me I feel cold all the time. I think that winter is coming. If you ever get sick I’ll come make you feel better in anyway that I can. I care about you Jean…a lot more than anyone else. Even Mikasa. She’s my sister and a guardian while you…" Eren paused as he twisted around. He placed one hand onto the gently beating heart of Jean with such gentleness and care. "You protect me with love. I’m so glad that we are getting married soon because, I don’t want this love to ever end. The first time we made love was the last thought about never leaving you again. I never am. I want you to know that."
Jean's eyes met Eren's and a smile rose from the corners of his lips. "This love will never cease to exist, Eren... One this great could never shatter... I promise you that." He said reassuringly as he let his hand travel up to Eren's hair, lightly stroking at it. "You're always going to have me. I'll never ever hurt you, and I swear that." He sighed softly and pulled him in for a gentle kiss. "You are precious to me." He mumbled as he pulled his lips away. A small smirk began to form. "Now, come on. Lets eat before we both starve to death. Its been a long day, and that soup smells absolutely brilliant." He smiled.
And he'd never admit it, but every night at supper, Jean would set out an extra place for Eren, just in case he ever decided to come in some night and join him.
Jean sat the bowls down in front of the chairs and carefully layed the spoons next to them. He looked over at Eren with a smile. "Does having you here for dinner count as a special occasion? Cause if so, I think its time I open that bottle of wine you gave me a few years ago." He chuckles. "I've been waiting for some time to share it with you."
"Nothing in particular." He answered. He released Eren reluctantly and moved across the room to an oil lamp, lighting it and filling the room with a normal amount of light. "Just make whatever you’d like, sweetheart. You’re a good chef, I trust you wont poison me." He jokes. It was true, Eren’s cooking was exceptional, and had no contest to Jean’s cooking, which was almost always burnt.
He wouldn’t lie, he was honestly looking forward to the rest of the night with Eren. It seemed like forever since they’d spent time together. Hell, even though Jean had just held him a mere few minutes beforehand, even that seemed like an eternity. His thirst for Eren’s touch was unbearable at times. And the past few weeks without him had been hell.
But he didn’t have to think about that anymore. He was here now. And he wasn’t leaving until word reached him of his next mission. That meant he was all Jeans until then. And he could hold him as much as he’d like, and the best part was that they got to have another night next to each other.
Jean removed his outerwear and set it by the door, leaving him in his shirt and pants. He wandered back to his desk. “I just have to make a few notes, don’t mind me” He states. “You still remember where everything is, right?”
Eren shuffled his feet slightly as Jean mentioned about poisoning him. He had poisoned someone before and he never wanted to recall that memory. Even through the mask he smiled back at Jean. “Okay. I’ll get started!” He dashed behind the counter to get supper in tow. “Of course I remember where everything is!”
Pans clattered together as he tried to force that memory out of his mind. It sorta worked. He chopped some vegetables into a cauldron, added some water, spices, and chunks of meat into the already slightly bubbling stew. The fire heated the house up. Sweat dripped from his face as he stirred the soup.
Often times his eyes would stray and he would look ahead of him to stare at Jean, hard at work with some of his field work. He liked it when he wasn’t looking. He showed more of himself like that. The gentle curve of his neck, the harsh outlines of his cheekbones. The peaceful look on his lips. Eren smiled as he quickly looked away with a blush.
Fingers rose to touch his lips. The lips that Jean had kissed so lovingly. Just over in the next room was where they spent countless nights in each other’s arms. He blushed again hiding his face. His heavy voice in his ear, the blankets sticking to his arms, and the firey touch of him.
Another quick look. Jade orbs quickly turned to see him in anticipation.
The ink flowed along the paper quickly, Jean's hand moving hastily to finish his work. He hummed softly as he wrote down everything he knew about his target's death and how it had happened. He felt the stare of Eren's eyes on him from across the room, and smiled gently. He loved when Eren would regard him so fondly. It reminded him that he wasn't just an assassin, but a person that had a life. A history.
The room filled with the pristine aroma of the stew, and Jean's stomach grumbled. He lifted himself from his desk, being finished with his work and made his way over to Eren. He walked behind him and wrapped his arms around the brunette's waist, resting his jaw on his shoulder. "It smells absolutely great, sweetie." He commented, giving his waist a light squeeze. He turned his head a bit and kissed Eren's cheek with a soft giggle.
He buried his face against Eren's neck and drew in a deep breath, wrapping his arms around Eren's chest. And for the first time in a while, Jean felt content. Just being there, holding him, smelling his scent, feeling his olive toned skin, and just indulging in the simple moment.
