hey y'all! sarah nikehime here with a bit of a rule change/nagging speech. i know phi came down a bit a few days ago on the ship hate and how it was taking over chat, and i'd like to explain/expand on that a bit. basically, the more negativity there is in chat the less fun it is for everyone involved. we TOTALLY get not liking ships and we're not saying we disagree with your statements/reasoning, but this is not the place for ship hate, character hate, or hate of ANY KIND. before posting in chat making fun of shit, please take 10 seconds to consider if it might hurt the feelings of anyone else in chat, PLEASE. if you want to complain about that stuff, post it on your blogs or twitter, not in JEARMIN chat. this is a chat about JEARMIN. and it feels like some of you don't care or barely post about jearmin at all. phi and i try to come up with fun jearmin stuff to post in chat, but it's hard when it feels like nobody cares or is listening and when hardly anyone else contributes. people talk more about haikyuu, free!, etc. more than jearmin or snk in this chat and it's ridiculous. basically what we're saying is, any more prolonged chats about things that aren't snk/jearmin related and we'll start banning people. no more spams. no more prolonged off-topic chats. i LOVE talking about the new free! episodes and stuff, but jearmin chat is not the place for it, and i need to be better about that. we all do. we're not saying you're not allowed to go off topic ever at all, but we'd really appreciate it if you limited it to stuff like "hey anyone watch the latest episode of ____" and start a PRIVATE chat if you want to discuss. or post it on your blogs since that's what they're there for. additionally, i want to say, i'm glad you all are having a fun time, and it's cool some of you already know each other really well, but when i come back to 300 messages that are basically a back and forth between two or three people that isn't about jearmin or snk at all, it kind of upsets and annoys me. this kind of stuff can be done over private chats. if any of y'all wanna start other group chats with people in network for other stuff that's not jearmin related or has to do with stuff not everyone's involved in, go ahead! maybe i'm rambling, so i'll just say the gist of it all: this post is to reinforce/expand on the ALREADY STATED RULE that this chat should be limited to SNK and JEARMIN. talking about other ships is fine too, but we really want to stress that this is an SNK-RELATED CHAT. and again, PLEASE avoid discussing triggering things. THIS MEANS ALCOHOL AND DRUGS. people have stated MULTIPLE TIMES that they are uncomfortable with alcohol/drug talk, mostly with drugs, and people keep discussing it and asking if anyone's uncomfortable after the fact. phi and i've decided to basically put alcohol and drugs under the 18+ category, we don't care what country you're from. stuff like "drunk at a party" can be okay stuff like "drunk armin headcanons!" or "stoner armin headcanons!" are not. there are people in chat with alcohol issues in their family, including myself, who are made uncomfortable by some of this. this applies to all triggers as well, not just the ones stated. if you think it might make people uncomfortable, it probably will. we'd prefer if you all would ask "is anyone going to be uncomfortable if i talk about ___ in relation to jearmin/snk?" rather than just going (trigger warning: _____) and starting discussion, but some of you don't even do that. there's also a lot of negativity going on, and i realize a lot of you are dealing with really heavy stuff, and everyone in chat is here to love and support you, but excessive negativity makes other people uncomfortable, especially those of us that have our own problems and want to come to jearmin chat to feel more positive. there are plenty of people in chat willing to help you over private chat if you need someone to talk to, phi and i included. obviously, these rules only work if everyone agrees with them. we're not saying you can't post stuff about how your day is going or what's going on in your life, just use common sense! that's all! talking about a class you like: cool! super heavy stuff that might make people uncomfortable: probably not okay unless you ask. just use your best judgement and don't spam, and you won't be breaking rules. phi and i want you all to have a good time, we're not here to be mean, but we'll start being mean if we keep getting complaints. if you have questons or complaints that are relevant to the whole chat, post them in main chat and phi and i will try and answer them. if they're more personal, feel free to privately message us! and if any of you want to leave jearmin chat, privately message us as well. we won't make a big deal out of it or say anything about it to anyone if you wish. if any of you want us to be doing something we're not doing, please tell us as well. we're not perfect, and we especially won't know if you're uncomfortable with something if you don't tell us. we're happy to keep your anonymity if you wish. anyway. sorry to be a buzzkill but we've been getting complaints for a while and phi and i have our own frustrations with the whole situation. we're not trying to call out anyone in particular with this, everyone is equally guilty, so i hope everyone will try and be better participants in jearmin network chat. this message is long enough as it is, but i'd also like to introduce lea agendereren as a new admin/mod. they'll be answering questions as well. they have all the power phi and i do, and we're really excited to be working with them!
