I love the headcanons that are like ‘the eridians already figured out how to replicate earth’s atmosphere, temperature, food, light, the ocean for the human. ofc they found a way to extend grace’s life expectancy’ bc talk about my exact brand of cope. but I also think another motivating factor could have been no one wanting to deal w 400 years of rocky in a bad mood

Comfrey making Torse his golden heart to help place a barrier between him and the Queen’s control, and in doing so numbing the grief and rage that he’s felt for so long in being the last of his kind

Torse being so relieved to not have to feel so much.

But in doing so, he didn’t realise that the iron heart wasn’t ‘bad’, just A Lot. The raw emotions. No barrier. No filter.

The iron heart was only ever utilized when he felt he needed to unleash his anger in combat.

He thought that the gold heart made him gentle, but actually, the gold heart made him less.

Marya bringing him back with the beautiful inscription, validating his love and his rage and allowing that to be okay. To be worthy.

(Then everything else happened. But that wasn’t the iron heart. That was the Queen’s control.)

He could have had a new gold heart. Any one of the tinkerers could have made him one from the engine if they thought he needed it.

But the golden heart went to Ludmilla. Someone who is raw with guilt and rage.

The golden heart in a human could help her recover from the millennia of hatred. And then maybe when she’s ready, she might find that she also wants to feel it all.

Do you think part of Pappy’s discomfort with Maxwell taking charge and stifling his whimsy/disguises in Ramansu, causing him to lash out and call it the ‘Gotch Show’, was that the Wind Rider Society and all its players and parts did the same back in the day?

Comfrey made the joke about it being ‘the Gotch Show’ at Maxwell in Zern, which could canonically mean that she also came up with that…or she was referencing something (although we know that it was Brennan just making a callback…stay with me here…)

When they were married, did Daisuke call Comfrey’s need to play nice with elites and socialites ‘the Gotch Show’ because it was often headed by Cadswitch, and the whole situation put him on edge?

Was that also something that shut him down and made him feel unwelcome and uncomfortable because he didn’t see himself fitting into that world?

So both him and Comfrey jumping to ‘The Gotch Show’ when Maxwell was pissing them off, when that could have easily been part of the argument that lead to their divorce makes me a little insane.
