This AU takes place in 1953 Detroit. Connor is an ordinary detective at the Detroit Main Department. During one of his investigations, he has an accident that lands him in the hospital. Kara, a nurse, worked there and cared for him until his discharge. He tried to get to know her all this time, but his attempts were unsuccessful. After he was discharged, he met a girl by chance at a regular grocery store. It was there that she finally gave in and gave him her phone number to get to know him better.
