about:
This is a sideblog, and I follow back from my main @grimmusings. Please direct IMs there, since it's easier for me to keep all my messages on one blog. It's also easier to start interactions with me there, where I regularly post open starters and meme prompts. For a full list of rules, see my main. Honesty hour questions will largely be answered IC and treated as anonymous unless signed by a muse.
This is a multimuse blog for canon characters from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Their portrayals are pulled from a variety of films and hugely influenced by personal headcanons, so please be sure to read the verse information below before interacting. That said, I'm always happy to tweak my verses to include Sawyer/Hewitt family muses from any of the films or video games, and I'll do my best to adapt them to your lore. (I've read up on the video game but haven't played it, so bear with me on that. I'm happy to wing it, but you may have to walk me through anything detailed.) All details vary based on verse, and I'm happy to write them into crossovers or AUs.
And now, some warnings! Many of these characters are villains, and I will be writing them as such. This blog will explore themes of murder, cannibalism, torture, body horror, captivity, abusive households, and toxic relationships, among others. If you’re not comfortable with those, that’s perfectly fine, but this isn’t the blog for you. I will check with you before anything major so we can better plot things out. Likewise, if you prefer to plot their death or capture, I’m happy to work with you on that. Being a villain has consequences, but communication is key. I'm also happy to ship them, but any ships are going to be problematic af, so keep that in mind.

verses:
canon (+/-): This verse follows the Leatherface (2017) plotline where Jedidiah Sawyer is raised in a family of cannibals and resists it as a child. He's reluctant to kill and tries to help their victims. When all the Sawyer and Hewitt children are taken to state and foster homes, he continues to try to look out for the other kids. He's working as an orderly when some of the inmates attack and escape, and he's reluctantly pulled along. A horrific accident causes the brain damage and facial disfigurement that leads to Jed becoming Leatherface. (fc: Sam Strike)
horror!verse: This verse follows the previous and picks up the plotlines of Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013), where Jedidiah Sawyer is one of the last remaining survivors of the Sawyer/Hewitt families. Though he largely lives in hiding to stay off the town's radar, he's very dedicated to protecting whatever family he has left. Jed is extremely suggestible and largely follows his family's lead at this point. Also includes any events that take place before the town burns the Sawyer family farm (and events/muses from the other films/game as needed.)
the beginning: This is Thomas Hewitt's verse, based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006). The Hewitts adopted him as a baby, and he was bullied growing up because of a facial deformity. When the town died, Charles Hewitt encouraged the family to turn to murder and cannibalism to survive. The child Erin escapes with is his nephew, Jedidiah Sawyer, who's returned home and grows up to follow in his uncle's footsteps, where the above verses pick up.
