it’s been approximately 5 hours since jennie ran away from you into the forest. after you broke the news about your heart problem and the surgery. she got emotional and thought you trusted her. which you did. but when you’re with her you feel like there’s nothing wrong with you.
so you just blatantly forget about your heart and focused on her the whole time. you guys don’t exchange alot of words. she was the one who always done the talking.
you're usually uncomfortable around strangers but she seems to pull you out of your comfort zone and actually do fun stuff. like sleeping under the stars which your mother would never let you do. she has always been strict on you. you know she loves you a lot. she loves you so much that she still work extra shifts to support your surgery. which you're grateful for. but she just doesn't let you have any freedom and you rarely see her. that's why you're at your grandma's.
the wind was blowing through your curtains. a piece of the night ray glowing in your room. the whole day you didn't talk to jennie nor have you seen her. after she ran away you couldn’t find her.
but tonight with the sudden feeling of adventurousness. you decided you should probably try to find her. incase she’s in danger or something. you got up from your bed and went to your window.
your eyes stalked over the tree. thinking about where she might be. you hoped she wasn’t in the woods because as much as you like to believe it you’re not that brave like what jennie said.
but instead you got the courage to grab a flashlight from your bedside table and headed straight down and into the woods. it was eerie. the sound of the twigs under your feet. and the sound of the wind blowing the wind.
you walked through the trees that was once pretty but now petrifying. then you’ve finally arrived at the lake. the moonlight cascading on to the shallow water. making it look like the lake was glowing.
for a second you forgot why you were there as you gazed was on the glistening water. until you looked around the lake. then there it was.
a house. it was a normal suburban house. the house was partly barricaded. it was all across the lake you had to take a long walk to get to it.
-
upon arriving at the old rickety house. you studied it. the paint was peeling off, the stairs into the house was missing some steps, half if the roof was gone. but what caught your eye the most was a window. it had a ladybug sticker on it.
you didn’t know what got into you but you had a tingly feeling that jennie is somewhere in the house. your eyes was on the window as you walk into the house.
once you got passed the entrance, a wave of smell took over. it smelt like rotting. you scowled and put your free hand up to your nose to block the horrid smell out.
you looked around. there was some broken glass on the floor. the whole placed reek of alcohol and the smell was noisome. you almost gagged as you went inside further.
you looked around with the flashlight. there was some water dripping from. it was most probably the lavatory.
after scouting the first floor. you found nothing. just more alcoholic smell in the kitchen and glass bottles almost everywhere. “what the hell happened.”
now you were infront the stairs that led to the upper half of the house. as you made it to the top. the moonlight shone down on the hallway considering of the half torned off roof.
you made your way down the carpeted hallway right beside the stairs. there were 2 rooms. you arrived infront of the first one. the handle was rusty. you wrapped your hand around it, you were digusted. it was slimy, you had a hard time twisting it.
you pushed the wooden door open. it was hard to push open but you managed. it made a loud creek throughout the whole house. 'how long has this place been abandoned for?' a billion questions ran through your mind. you held up your flashlight to to get a better look of the room.the wallpaper was worn out and the roof has leaks too.
you moved the flashlight to the floor to see clothes scattered on the floor from the closet, glass shards from the window and random items. 'it looks like someone was in a hurry' you thought hard on what would have happened here. you took another look in the dark room with your flashlight.
something caught your eye. the glass shards had some dark maroon colour. then you realized it was blood. then there was more it was a trail. you displayed the light on it and it led to another room down the hall. you stood there by the door frame scared.
you brace yourself as you decide to follow the blood trail. you needed to find jennie and apologize to her. she was your everything. she helped you alot. the further you went down the hallway, the amount of blood increase, and so does the horrid smell.
another batch of questions was running through your head and some of the questions you didn't want answers too. your finally face to face with the wooden door . it had the letter 'j' imprinted on it. and there was some princess stickers on it.
there was trails of dried blood drops under the door. you’re frightened, scared, shaking too, you were deciding if this was the right thing to do or not as you stare at the steel door handle that has dried blood smeared around it.
you took a deep breathe with your eyes closed and remember why you're doing this, for jennie. your hand slowly reach the door handle and twist it slowly. the door also had the same loud creak as the last one but what more concerned is the stench that struck through your nose was stronger than it was a second ago, you couldn’t identify the smell before but now, you were sure, was a rotten smell.
you had to cover your nose, the atmosphere in the room felt so.. off, it was pitch black, not even the slightest bit of moon light were in the room, your mind is a mess at this moment you gain courage to use your flashlight again, you lightened the dried up blood trail that you were following into the room, the amount of blood increased, you stopped when you saw a quite big amount of blood on the floor, with more alcohol glass shards that were covered in blood, whats with this house and alcohol glass shards?
“is this the cause of the smell?” you wondered, with a slight hope it is you moved your flashlight further to see a smeared blood trail leading somewhere, you're swallowed your saliva as you were nervous to even see more. the smeared blood trail leads to the side of the bed, a bed?
you move your flashlight on the bed, there's something under the cover of the bed which made you curious “is this where the smell's coming from” your brain was screaming to not come any closer but your heart resist as you slowly step closer, the smell got stronger and the “something happen to look” long as if, its a.. person.
you were stunned by your conclusion, everything become more scarier than it is. you thought to yourself maybe this was a bad idea, you should get out of here. just as you turn away, you could hear her calling you, a gentle low familiar voice, that has been the one to always calm you down calling your name.
'jennie?' you thought to yourself in shock making you turn yourself back to the bed “jennie” you said just under a whisper as the feeling of missing her overcame you. approaching closer, you reach for the cover that was painted with blood and slowly pull it down. the moon light suddenly found its way into the room, the light caressed her face lightly as you cover your mouth in disbelief, tears formed in your widening eyes.
the full moon was companied by the bright stars that light up the sky that night. the fireflies came out to play above the high, shrubbery grass as they lightened the view. The footsteps of the child running in the grass could be heard by the nearby trees. your sobbing could be heard by the moon. your breathing became messy as you are gasping for air after all the running and crying.
this won’t be good for your heart, but you don’t care. everyone dies anyway. all you knew was to run. the footsteps stopped, you stood in front of the tree. “Our Tree” you thought. Your breath become shaky from the run. you tried to hold in your cry causing you to sob. there she is on the branch.
like REALLY jealous jennie and some bratty smut(if ur comfortable with it) or just her generally being bratty pls i would love to see it😭

“wake up y/n”
you woke up with a hand waving around over your face. you slowly opened your eyes and immediately closed it again after seeing the bright sun. you groaned.
“what are you doing here. you slept here all night. alone”
said yehan. you’re currently beneath the tree you climbed last night. you remembered climbing down after the meteor shower ended. you sat on the same spot with jennie talking about the moon and stars.
jennie isn’t here beside you anymore. she must’ve got up early. “what do you mean? i was with jennie” yehan gave you a curious look. “jennie?” she asked for confirmation and you just nodded. she looked at you for a moment and shook her head.
“let’s get you inside the shower. you smell” she critiqued you. you furrowed your eyebrows and chased her in the house.
-
“your heart seems to be ready”
you gulped at the thought. this could either be life or death. you could either live like a normal child and run around with people or you die.
miss jung saw your nervousness and patted your head. “you’ll be alright sweetie.” miss jung has been with you ever since you had arrythmia. which was a very long time ago.
she was your family’s doctor she’s been there for you ever since. “you haven’t been feeling dizzy or anything right” you shook your head. “you’ll be alright. you won’t even realised i sliced your chest open.” she reassured you in a threatening way.
you whined and smack her arm “dont say that!” she let out a laugh and opened the door for you. you saw your grandma there.
-
turns out your grandma came home after a long trip to prepare you before the surgery that’ll change your life. she came back to spoil you basically.
you arrived home with a handful off bags and stowed away everything upstairs. you immediately came down to play outside. you found rocks and decided to stack them.
you looked around for a certain girl in a white dress. you sighted when she was no where to be found. you kept on stacking the rocks until.
“pfft that’s boring.”
you heard the familiar high pitched voice from behind you. you quickly turned around and was met by her. “hey jennie” you started. she smiled and greeted you back, grabbing your hand.
“c’mon let’s go”
then she dragged you into the woods like last time. she let go of your hands as you guys arrived at the lake. she walked around a little and indulged the sight with her hands intertwined behind her back.
she went closer to the lake and just stared at it. you crouched down beside her. there was little fishes in the water. they were moving around while you two are in complete silence.
the awkwardness took over you two. so, you decided to break it by saying. “you know i used to have 2 goldfishes.” still looking at the waters moving lightly.
she whipped her head around, thin strands of hair lightly slapping her face looking at you. she had a soft smile on her face. “oh yeah? i had to take care of a cat in secret once. it was injured but my parents never really allowed me to take care of anything because they think im not capable of it. so i kept it for a few days without them knowing. then one day coming home from school i found the cat dead in front of the house with shards of glasses in the wounds”
you gulped “why was there uh- glass” you asked jennie.she paused before answering. you could see the conflict in her eyes as she watched the waters “my dad was an alcoholic.” then she ended it there. you looked back at the lake. directing your attention back to the fishes. “i- uh im sorry to hear that” she just hummed while her attention stayed on the water.
“it’s okay it doesn’t bother me that much anymore.” she rubbed it off. you nodded. the silence took over after awhile.
“you can have it when you come over to my house. “ you were confused. have what? she turned to you with a gracious smile on her face as she pointed to her ladybug bracelet. you smiled along with her and blurted. “i doubt i’ll be going to your house” you said as you chuckled.
her face turned into confusion. “what do you mean?” her showing genuine interest. “well i-“ you hesitated. “i haven’t been very honest with you jennie” she her eyebrows quirked up.
“i have a heart condition” you licked your lips out of nervousness. while jennie looked at you with anticipation. “i have arrythmia and u-uh i have to go through surgery to cure it. so it’s either i die or live a life with a happy heart. that’s why im at my grandma. she’s taking care of me before the surgery.”
you turned to jennie waiting for her to say something since she’s been quiet ever since. “when are you going for surgery?” she asked looking deeply in your eyes.
you couldn’t do anything. it was a curse you thought. all these years you’ve been through you’ve been waiting for this day. but what’s stopping you? what if you don’t want to get better. what if you wanted to stay this way. she was a miracle. that should’ve happened a long time ago.

that afternoon you've gained enough information to finally call jennie your friend. you've come to known that she likes ladybugs alot. but she's not the kind to flaunt them. she just has tiny accessories of them. while you guys were by the lake you talked about your parents and she said her parents wasn't really nice to her. you were concerned of course but she immediately dismissed it which you found weird.
you couldn't sleep. the owls were hooting and you could hear the whistle of the wind in the silence. you were sure yehan was asleep. she usually sleep at 11. you took a glance at the clock on your wallpapered wall.
12:52 am
you sighted. today was a boring day. it was disappointing to you. the whole day you were out with yehan. she took you to the doctors for a check up. then she took you to buy some new clothes.
you guys spent the whole day in the mall. yehan recommended clothes while you just mindlessly nod to her as she dragged you across the building and when you came back the sun was already setting. so basically today you didn’t have the chance to meet jennie.
you were looking out the window that was beside your bed. it was a full moon tonight. the light reflected from the sun made your room light up a little. you sighted and got out of bed.
you decided to go downstairs and have a little midnight snacks. you made your way to the door opening it slowly as it creeks open. you looked left and right not wanting to wake yehan up. then you tipteod down the stairs.
arriving in the kitchen you got some milk from the fridge and took some cookies out. you dipped the cookies in the milk while you sat down and looked outside in the backyard.
the moon was shining down on the tree. your eyes slowly stalked over the tree. from the trunk to the very top. and there she was watching the moon.
she was sat on a tree branch that poked out the tree, convenient to gaze the moon. you seemed to be trapped in a daze. i mean how could you not. the way she looked with the wind caressing her hair back and the moonlight shining on her face. she was the epitome of beauty.
since you haven’t seen her the whole day, you thought why not pop by and have a chat.
you went out to the garden and immediately shoved your hands in your pocket. it was freezing. you walked towards the tree.
you looked up at the branch, she was still watching the moon. “hey!” you called. she looked down and squinted a bit trying to identify who it was. she lights up when she realised who you were.
she patted the hard wood beside her “ come on up!” you looked up at her quizzically. “i-i- umm- i don’t think i can do that.” you rubbed your hand on your nape. she shrugged at you then looks back at the moon.
you sighted and decided to climb up. you only live once. you grunted as you finally got to the top next to her. you patted yourself off, the climb up was not easy.
after finishing cleaning yourself up and making yourself look presentable. you sensed someone was observing you. you looked at jennie and she immediately smiled at you, showing her gums.
one of your eyebrows quirked up. “what are you doing up here anyways. this is pretty high up” you said as you looked down and observed the height. she chuckled “are you scareeddd” she teased.
you scoffed as response and denied. “well i just thought you’d-“ you got cut off with her fingers on your lips as she held your shoulders close to her. like she was shutting you up. “look” she starred at the sky.
it was a streak in the night sky and you realized it was a meteor shower. you couldn’t comprehend how close you two were. she held your face close to hers. your cheeks were practically touching as she held a hand over your mouth and an arm over your shoulder.
you held her hand down and away from your mouth. you gazed at the moon with her hand in yours.
as the night turns into an abyss, only a single outline remains under the moonlight.
you couldn’t do anything. it was a curse you thought. all these years you’ve been through you’ve been waiting for this day. but what’s stopping you? what if you don’t want to get better. what if you wanted to stay this way. she was a miracle. that should’ve happened a long time ago.

you looked outside the window of the dining area which had the whole view of the garden. it really captured the garden’s beauty. everything was perfect. it was a windy day. so you hoped you wouldn’t be sweating again if you meet that girl yesterday.
your face redden at the thought. god im a narcissist. but you crossed your fingers so you’d meet her again today.
after finishing the meal you took a walk outside the house and ran some errands in this small town. you met mr bae and he was just exquisite. he’s the owner of the convenience store that yehan usually goes to. so after hearing that yehan was your caretaker. he didn’t hesitate to say “if you need any help just come to me”
you also met mrs choi who’s the owner of the bakery you drove past yesterday when you arrived. the interior of the place really captured your attention.
walking down the thin lane where only one car can go through. you thought about your itinerary for today.
1. get home
2. help yehan put the groceries away
3. go outside (to see the girl again)
there’s something about the girl. your so hooked on her. come to think of it “i don’t even know her name” you cam to a stop with your mouth agape. you blink twice and put a pin to ask her what her name was when you get home. if she was there again.
-
upon arriving, yehan greeted you and you offered to help her. she denied once again "yehan .. groceries doesn't irregulate my heartbeat. don't worry to much" you held her hand that was going for the plastic and looked at her with sincerity. she let out a breath that was laced with worry. "fine.."
you maneuvered around the kitchen swiftly, figuring out where each food belongs and remembering them so you could come back at night and have a snack. you glance outside to catch a glimpse of the girl. she wasn't there. your mood went sour after that. you didn't want to go outside anymore. but you went anyway cause stress isn't good for your heart.
the wind of the warm day instantly makes your mood less sour. you took a walk around the garden, walking through the flower field, avoiding the tree for some reason. 'the tulips were a nice addition to the garden' you thought. then something caught your eye. it was a red ball. you furrowed your eyebrows. 'why would this be here?'
you grabbed it and smiled softly. you pulled it out the field. it looked like a dodge ball from gym class. you've never really had fun with it since you didn't have the ability to play dodgeball . . . yet. you set it down for a while not knowing what to do with it.
“kick it”
you heard from behind. you turned around. it was the girl from yesterday. your forehead crinkled with curiosity so you did what she told you to. you kicked it as hard as you can. the ball went rolling near the entrance to the backyard.
you had fun kicking the ball around. until “y/n don’t play with the ball. your heart rate!” you heard yehan yelled where she stood in the door frame. she had her hands out with an irritated face on.
you lowered your head and sighed. you walked towards her and handed her the ball. she ruffled your hair making it a bit messier. “you know why im taking it from you right?” she questions as you only nodded and walked away.
you walked back to the tree and slumped down on the trunk of the wood. looking slumped. you heard the sound of a stomp on the grass. like some landed on it “gee that was harsh”
you looked up and it was the girl again. “hey” you said lowly with your head still down. she hopped over your leg and crouched down. with instinct looked up and saw her smiling softly down at you. she moved a strand of hair away from your face. the gesture made your heart melt with the way she did it so softly.
"c'mon" she said as she tucked your hair behind your ear and held out a hand for you. you took it and stood up. she looked back and you with a gummy grin. "follow me" she pulled you to the leaf wall that serves as a fence. there was a small gap between the different bushes. she squeeze between the bushes and you could see her face through all the leaves. she had an encouraging smile "c'mon!" she urged you.
you quickly squirmed through the bushes and she quickly grabbed your hand again and dragged you through the woods, trusting her with where she was going and you just let your legs follow her. while she was dragging you, you looked around and appreciated the beauty of nature. the rays off light breaking through the tree branches. you saw birds soaring over the trees in the blue sky.
looking around made you unaware of where she was taking you. she suddenly came to a stop and you tripped over and fell to your face on the cold hard ground. you heard a gasp coming from the girl. you could also hear her chuckle a little. she helped you up "im sorry about that." you got up a little loopsy by the hit to the head.
you looked up to see her face turn from a grin to a worried look. "why" you said as you wipped your face to avoid from being embarrassed by how your dirty face would look after the fall. then, you suddenly felt a sting on your cheekbone. you hissed and the girl pulled your hand away from it. she planted a kiss over the cut.
"there i kissed it better" she said with a grin
you hummed and looked down while you take form into being a tomato. "i like how you look" you perked your head up. "the scar just makes you look brave and courageous" you chuckled at her statement. you were far from brave evermore courageous. you've spent half of your life afraid of everything and anything because in every situation there's a slight chance of you dying.
"come here." she patted beside her. she was sitting under a tree. you finally realized you were right in front of a lake. you took a seat beside her. the sound of the water mingling with each other filled the silence between you two. you suddenly remembered the question that has been bugging you all day. "um hey what's your name? i dont mean to be rude but when we met you didn't-"
"jennie" she cut your rambling off.
"jennie" you tried saying it. trying to get the feel of how it rolls off your tongue. you smiled and leaned your head on the tree bark. this is one of the most exciting days you've ever had in your life. "this is where i go when i need to calm down." you looked at jennie while she looked over the lake. her hand was fidgeting with a bracelet with a ladybug on it. you didn't notice the bracelet on her before.
"you like ladybugs?" she looked at your for awhile before looking down at her bracelet. "alot actually" she said with a giggle at the end of her sentence. "i had a small plushy her name was lily. she was the luckiest ladybug there was. we had great adventures together. she got hurt once on a mission together. her left antenna got ripped off on a tree branch. that's the reason why she's the most special. cause no matter what life throws at you. you'll still have to get back on your feet. alone. sadly, i left her." she said smiling at the start then she frowned. "where did you left her?"
you couldn’t do anything. it was a curse you thought. all these years you’ve been through you’ve been waiting for this day. but what’s stopping you? what if you don’t want to get better. what if you wanted to stay this way. she was a miracle. that should’ve happened a long time ago.

you heard yehan shouted from down the stairs. her voice ringing trough the wooden walls with worn out paint on it. “no need yehan!” you shouted back out of the small crack of the door that you made. you closed it after you heard light footsteps scattering to the kitchen.
sighing while closing your eyes. i hope i wont die of boredom. you thought. there’s nothing much to do here it’s a typical suburban house in a small village. you could find it anywhere.
you sat down on the bed and wrote a letter to mother. saying that you’ve arrived safely at grandmas. but a little disappointed that she wasn’t here to greet you. you didn’t mind. that was the least she could do after taking you in before the surgery. you thanked her for keeping you in great hands.
you took a good look around the room. yehan said this was mother’s old room. the room was filled with books and old posters of some band. the walls having some barbie stickers and old photos with friends. the runned down colour of the sage green paint on the walls. you couldn’t believe your mom was into trendy stuff back then. she always seemed like a nerd who would always stay cooped up in her room with her head in a book.
the roomed looked neatly cleaned and you couldn’t complained. the sun rays through the sheer curtain gained your attention. you made your way to the window and your eyes were met with a tree. the bark has a camouflage pattern comprised of gray-brown outer bark.
‘a nice place to have a picnic’
-
the sun rays beamed through your sheet curtains. the morning breeze passed through it. you woke up to the sound of vacuum cleaning the downstair.
rubbing your eyes slowly you took a whiff of that fresh morning air in the village. your first night here wasn’t that rough. you were pretty comfortable to be honest. you wouldn’t mind staying her forever.
your feet touched the heated wooden floor with a creek as you got up to go to the toilet and brush your teeth before breakfast. as you made your way downstairs you admired the photos that was hung on the wall. there was photos of grandma and grandpa. one with mother when she was younger, and many more.
“good morning! what are you going to do today hmm?”
yehan greeted cheerfully as she placed a plate of eggs and bacon. you thanked her before setting your agenda for today. “well i just want to walk around and be familiar with the place, you know?” she nodded in understandment before smiling and going outside to water the plants.
after you finished your scrumptious breakfast you went outside and saw her trimming the bushed over the windows. “do you need help?” you offered. she paused and looked back at you, declining your offer.
you nodded and took a walk around the garden. the fences had overgrown bushes over them for privacy. there was some flower gardens here and there. peculiarly there was a single sycamore tree amidst it all.
your mouth twitched, turning into a small smile as you studied the tree. the light green maple like leaves danggling as the wind blows them. some falling off, some holding onto dear life.
a thought popped into your head as you were admiring the trees’ beauty. ‘i should grab a book and read it under the tree and do something productive for once’ you thought as you scurried back inside excitedly. atleast do something before you pass on.
you made your way to the tree with a small smile on your face. the wind grazes amongst your locks as you sat down in the big roots that over grown the ground.
after settling yourself, you got to page 4 until someone interrupted your chances of being productive. “what you readin”a soft voice said coming from a branch above you.
you looked up in shock and sat up straight “oh well you know the great gatsby” you said sheepishly with a shrug and motioning to your book. she smiled down at you and scoffed “booringg” she said while rolling the g’s.
“well what would you read then” your eyebrows furrowed as you challenged her. her brown locks and cat eyes really grasped your attention. her white and georgette dress dangling down to her legs makes her more cunning.
“i wouldn’t ... and you’re a kid go have fun. play with other kids or something.” she motioned around the garden. you looked back to where she was motioning and said “im- well i-im not interested in those stuff” with a hand on your nape and a shrug once again.
she doesn’t question tour stuttering “huh” she answered shortly after, while looking of at the garden field before asking “what are you doing here anyway. i haven’t seen you around.” you froze for a moment. why should u talk to a stranger about your business here. a really really pretty stranger. you could either tell the truth and lie. you went with the latter
“im here to visit my grandma” she hums in understanding before jumping of the branch and landing right beside you. she sat on the tree trunk beside yours and grins. her gummy smile showing making you flustered.
she gasps and yours eyerbows furrowed “don’t move” she says as the cupped your cheeks. by now you’re already panicking. was this how it’s going to happen. under a tree in your grandma’s garden with a pretty stranger. your first kiss here?
you felt her finger slowly glide across your eyebags. you held a breath as she retreats her hands back, without her doing anything you were implying she would do. you opened your eyes slowly as if a ghost will come right at you. only to find her grinning while looking down at her pinkie finger.
“this little guy was on your face.” she said with an ear to ear smile as she showed you the small ladybug. you looked down at it and was flustered. she looked up at you and a worried look takes over her face. “are you okay? your face is red.” yes it’s red from embarrassment. i couldn’t believe i actually thought you were going to kiss me. i feel so ashamed. you thought.
you looked away and waved her off trying to calm down. “no no im fine” you looked back at her with a small smile. there was a small pause before a thunderous sound broke the silence.
you looked up and the sky was all gray with small droplets trickling down from it. you looked back at the girl. she was about to say something before "y/n get back inside it's going to rain!" yehan called out of worry for you.

"good morning!" you said while smilling cheerfully at the cashier. "hello y/n" lisa smiled at you and leaned over the counter, resting her head on her palm. "what can i get you today?" you pursed your lips out and took off your headphones. you swore you heard a small giggle. but you decided to ignore it.
you took a good look around the small overgrown flower shop. the walls were filled covered with the colour mint and overgrown flowers. it's a pretty pleasant sight. you could stay here for hours just looking around at the exterior. but you have to deliver your daily flowers to roseanne. you can't wait to see her face again when she opens her locker and smells the flowers looking so etheral. you don't even know how she does it. but you're happy you're her source of happiness. "today i want something different again"
you looked up at lisa with a big smile showing of your newly flossed teeth. lisa looks at you and cooed. "it's for the same person?" she said while going over to the tulips. her hands scheme over the flowers. "well..." you weren't ready to tell her that you didn't know what roseanne liked. it's so pathetic. "i don't really know what she likes" you said embarrassingly while scratching your nape.
lisa turned around and laughed while you huffed out a breath off annoyance. "you're such a lovesick fool it's amusing" you rolled your eyes, popping your earphones back in your ear and started heading to the counter. after a good 2 minutes she came back with a bouquet of lillies. you gasped when the flowers came into your sight. you've always loved lillies. everything about it was so graceful. it was just an all rounded flower. you opened your wallet and payed the usual amount for a bouquet. after bidding lisa goodbye you made your way to school. going through the heavy doors of the school you went straight to roseanne's locker to drop off her flowers. you smiled as you admired the patterns on the flower. it got cut off quick when you heard her laughter. you looked back at the metal doors and saw her laughing with her friends. in a hurry you ran to your locker which wasn't that far away from her so she wouldn't be suspicious on why you were at her locker looking at the flowers. you peeked your head out to look at her. you smiled as she smelled the flowers and reading your note. it was just a simple compliment. you hoped it would be enough for her to reciprocate the feelings you have for her.

after a few weeks of visiting the flower shop. today will be the last time you ever go there. today was a special day. you've finally gotten the courage to confess to roseanne. the flowers that you've gotten her always seemed to made her smile. so you expect her to fall inlove with your romantic doings.
"good morning lisa!" you said cheerfully. she was shocked by your sudden entrance. you've never walked in the shop like this. you were always calm and weren't the one to make a scene. so she was astonished to say the least. she greeted you back and ignored your happy state. thinking you woke up on the right side of the bed.
"today i want roses" you said leaning over the counter. lisa hummed and walked over to the pile of roses that was at the corner of the shop. "that seems oddly specific." she said in curiosity. you chuckled nervously and hesitated for a bit. "im going to confess today" you said. lisa's reaction caught you off guard. she was squealing while hitting you and jumping up and down. "finally! you've wasted so much in this shop. im getting sick of it." you chuckled at her words. you love lisa so much. she managed to calm you from your nerves and think about something else.
after paying and her giving you way too much encouragement. you started to make your way through the school gates.

"no. sorry"
your heart shattered. you're so confused. what have you done wrong? she seemed to like all your givings. so why was she denying you now? your cheeks starts to blush in embarrassment and your arms went limp. the roses looking dead as ever.
"oh okay then."
you accepted your defeat and walked away. dragging your feet in sadness. after your first heartbreak. you decided not to comeback to the flower shop because it reminds you of how dumb and naive you were. being near the shop always reminded you of the tragedy. so you'd always walk on the other side of the road when you walk pass that street eventhough walking near the flower shop takes less time then crossing the road just to avoid it.
----
"fuck sorry" you apologised while still trying to grab your bus card. once you got a hold of it you started picking up the flowers that you knocked over from the other person. you handed it to them and noticed that they were wearing the worned out white nike airforces that you knew to well. before you could make a run for it. "hey y/n!" you sighed and greeted her back and started walking off. "are you okay?" she pulled you back with worry in her eyes. you just gave her a sheepish smile. she frowned at that but you could see her eyes light up.
"it didn't work out?" she asked and you just nodded. she patted your back and gave you a rose. you were stunned. she wouldn't normally do this. if this was her she would've raised the price for you. you looked up to tell her that you're in a hurry and can't accept this. but she was already at the counter dealing with a customer. you shrugged and rushed your way over to the bus stop.
once you've settled down on the bus, you decided to take this relaxing time and sniffed the rose that Lisa gave. the smell felt so nostalgic. you were gazing at the rose when you noticed a small note tied up to it. how could i miss that? you thought. I'm really out of it this morning. the note was folded into.
' why have you been avoiding the shop? i don't know what are your reasons but everyday when you would walk pass the shop across the street, you look so sluggish and very grumpy. so my hypothesis is you got heartbroken. lol. i feel bad for the girl. she lost a romantic. if what im hypothesising is true, we could go on a date on friday 8pm at the flower shop just fixing up the flowers and adding some oil. how does that sound? you might be thinking that this is a way for me to avoid working and you are absolutely right. but keeping the flowers in check is fun. and it's really romantic and cheap. so why not come? i'll be waiting '
you chuckled at her note. you didn't notice the smile that was forming on your face. of course you're going. you've always loved flowers so why not spend an evening with a cute girl surrounded by flowers? sounds like heaven.
----
on friday night you got ready and just wore a simple tshirt with long wide black pants. you were estatic to see the lisa, you would be lying if you didn't had a thing for her. everything would be so different if you met lisa first and falling for her rather than roseanne. it would deffinitely spare you from a heartbrake since she likes you back.
upon arriving the small bell on too of the entrance rang. signalling someone has entered. you took a good look around the flower shop that you haven’t been to for months. nothing changed really. except for the flowers on the wall behind the counter had overgrown and the lady behind it looking stunning as ever.
she was fixing some of the flowers that was hanging from the ceiling. her apron was covered in dirt. it made you chuckle. you made your way behind her.
you were about to ask her what was she doing when she turned around and bumped into you. the bump was strong enough to make you both topple over. you landed on your back with lisa in your arms and you’re pretty sure it’ll be sore in the morning. you both exchanged looks and started bursting out in laughter. this was the night that you would surely move on.
synopsis : you thought you’d move on this time. but no she still lingered in your mind ruining everything. it doesn’t help that jennie has been cheating on you for months now
5 week anniversary of how all this mess happened. sometimes you wondered how much bad luck you had in this world. you must be the most unluckiest person in the world. you thought you’d be happy this time. but as the cycle goes it happened again.
you knew jennie was cheating on you. she’s been tricking you for 2 years now. you first got suspicious when she kept on going on business trips and getting random calls. you were in denial really. without her you don’t know how to handle with all that’s going on. it wasn’t jennie who lived in your mind rent free, it was her. you thought you’ve moved on from her when in reality you haven’t. after you’ve found out about jennie cheating all the memories came back again.
are you really not capable of being loved? what’s so wrong with you that you can’t even make them stay? you always blame her but it wasn’t her fault. it was all yours. your fault that you fell inlove with her. your fault she fell inlove with you. your fault you weren’t there for her. your fault she left. you’ve always thought of it this way. always blaming her for everything. when in reality it was yours. you should’ve stayed that night. you shouldn’t have left her alone in the apartment. it was all your fault that she committed.
when you got back home that night horrified seeing her body. panic started seeping through your veins. tears immediately fell screaming her name hoping she hadn’t left yet. screaming her name for her to just say this was all a joke. screaming for her to say that she’s still here with you. screaming her name until the neighbours heard and called the ambulance.
you were still on your knees. tears dried up on your face. looking into the hard wood floor covered in her dripping blood. they were removing her body from the ceiling fan and rushed past you. you didn’t have the energy anymore. you just wanted to kiss her one last time. hug her one last time. say that you love her one last time. talk about what would happen in the future one last time. you just wanted to see her one last time. but not her in the living room right now. hanging from the ceiling fan. looking so peaceful than she had ever looked before.
you felt happy that she got what she wanted and also betrayed that she left without saying goodbye.
after they finished discarding her body from the ceiling fan. one of the paramedics came to your side and tapped my shoulder. you didn’t look up. you were terrified. you kept your gaze on the wooden floor. she handed a note to to you. you gulped the lump in your throat and opened the folded note and reading the contents.
‘hey y/n !! if you’re seeing this im so sorry.i just couldn’t handle it anymore. it’s so hard. i know i should’ve came to you and talk about it but i don’t want to burden you. i know you’ve been stressed with work lately and i understand. but it just hurts so much and i want you to remember that it isn’t your fault. believe me. everything that leads to this point could never be your fault. in fact, you were the exact opposite. you were the one who’d make me smile whenever i see you. you make me so much more happier when i know im yours and you’re mine. you were the one who lit up my life. you’ve meant so much to me and i know i was in your heart somewhere. please don’t keep grieving upon my death. i don’t like seeing you sad :(. i want you to live your life to the fullest for me.always remember that i love you so much. so so much. you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. i want you to move on and go forward without me holding you back. i want you to live a life without regret. remember i love you!! till we meet next time my love.
your mouth immediately went to your mouth, covering it. the new set of tears started blurring your vision. you feel like punch everything. especially yourself. how could you be so selfish and let this happen? she was your everything. why did you let this happen. everything you did was wrong and led her to where she is now.
you shook yourself awake. you were drenched in sweat. you look to the side, hands searching for the familiar body that had been gone for weeks. and as expected she wasn’t there. jennie was out doing her ‘night shift’ again. you started tearing up remembering her. the stained tears on your cheeks got wetted. you sat on the bed, back against the headboard and knees to your chest. “im so exhausted rosie” you said shakily. “why did you leave” you whispered looking up at the ceiling. “what did i do wrong” you sobbed out.
your hand immediately went to your mouth. trying not to be loud. even though no one else was in the apartment. you could still feel her. you wanted more.
you got up and took your keys and left the house. not even thinking about putting on a jacket. you knew rosie was gonna be upset, but you had to see her now.
after a few minutes driving through the empty roads with blurry vision. you’ve arrived. stroking the rough texture of the stone. smiling. “hey baby” you heard her voice. you whimpered when you felt a hand on your back. you clucthed the grass that had grown over her resting place. you let your head hang down while the tears made it’s way down to your chin and dangled there. “i miss you” the same beautiful voice that you’ve missed so much piped up. you bit your lip to suppress the sob you were about to let out.
“i miss you too” you said looking up at her silhouette of when she left. her neck bloodied and scarred with the rope. hair in a messy bun. all of this with the same smile that never changes when you come to visit.
