How I revise maths (At AS level) 1. Useful websites/ resources •SnapRevise - You can buy a package for each year, for £30 specific for your specification. I usually find this useful for topics I don’t understand at all. As it contains videos breaking down each topic for you. At the end of each video, they do an exam - style question which really helps put the topic in perspective of how it will be in the exam. •Kerboodle - The kerboodle textbooks are extremely good resources for practice questions. At the end of each topic I work through the questions. I do this to gain more practice on the topic. 2. Creating my own revision resources • As shown in the picture, I write notes about each topic and underneath I do an exam style question to understand how it will be in the exam. To create these notes; I usually combine my class notes, kerboodle textbook and the snap revise videos. So my notes contain a wide range of different resources. •I then use my notes to condense them into revision cards. So then if I have a test I can use my flash cards to understand it. Or use my notes if I really struggle with the topic. On one side of the index card, I will write everything about the sub topic. Then on the flip side I have an exam style question. 3. Past paper questions •It’s extremely useful to do past papers to get used to how exam style questions are. Even if there isn’t many past papers available for your specification use old ones as the content will be the same. To really challenge yourself, after completing them all try other exam board papers. •Doing last papers allows you to really understand what topics you need to focus on. They also give a good indication to what you are good at too. •Marking them also allows you to see exactly, how the examiner wants the question answered or in what kind of form. That’s my 3 main tips hope it helps, feel free to ask any questions or even give your own tips to others.
