Katie let him speak because for him to come to her was big especially if he had something huge to say to her. She listened to him speak. Wondering what was going through his mind right now and what was going on.
Katie was surprised when she heard Hilario voice the way he was talking. This was taking her by surprised. “You past? Did something happen?” She asked him, a little bit worried about what he was going to say to her next. She shook her head with a smile as she tried to make a joke. Hilarie? Why now? Katie was asking herself these questions.
“Okay. What are these two things Jeffrey?” Katie said, pushing her laptop to the side. To look at him more and watching his body language and his expressions to see what he was going to say. “I want to say yes it does make sense” Katie giggled, trying to understand what this moment is right now. “You scared? So this must be something big then. What’s going on Jeffrey?” She asked him, now she was curious to know what was going on or what was going to happen right now. Rolling her eyes at his comment. Looking at him, grabbing his hands. “Yes.” She said, not knowing what else to say to him. Not knowing what she was saying yes to but she was going to trust him. @jefdeanmorgan
Jeffrey was actually glad she was letting him talk, let it all out at once because he was not really the person who would open up like this, it was rare, random and fast as hell when it happened.
When Katie spoke, his eyes looked up and met hers, a soft sigh escaped his lips as his mind went back to those days, the mistakes, things he couldn’t take back now but hopefully one day he was going to be able to forgive himself for what he did. “Yeah” he replied. “Well, not right now, but in the past” he explained a little. It must have been a surprise for Katie hearing Hilarie’s name coming out of his mouth, especially after all this time.
“I have to share the first one so I can move to the next subject” Jeffrey told her before clearing his throat. He had no idea how he was going to share those things, nobody knew, not even his close friends - not even Norman. “Yeah, sharing something like that makes me wanna piss my fucking pants, not gonna fucking lie” he tried to crack a joke noticing how much he was curning right now which meant he was either nervous or pure confident and in that case the right one was the first option. The man took her hand on his and held it, feeling a tiny bit better but he hadn’t even start yet. That was going to be a long ride - he thought to himself. “Well” he paused taking a breath. “You know, Hilarie and I used to live together before the engagement all that shit” he started speaking. “I was crazy, madly in love with her” his eyes looked in front of him as he travelled to the past with his thoughts. “She was my world and I fucking know actions prove that I’m bullshiting you right now but I am not” he said. “Because she truly was and I think what I’m about to share is going to make me look like a bigger asshole” he sighed. “While I was with her, I had an affair” he admitted to her, feeling actually very ashamed of himself right now. “With her best friend” he said. “I continued being with Hilarie while that was happening and then I asked her to marry me. I start to believe that, that’s what pushed me away from going to the marriage” he admitted to Katie. “I stopped seeing the other woman when I left” he coninued; “So...” he turned to look at her “Yeah” he cleared his throat. “There is a lot fucking more but I’m going to press pause here for now”.
