Hiw do ypu become successful As a entrepreneur in graphic design what kind of people do you have to meet to be successful. Ps I'm am trying tk grow to be a graphic designer my self
Sign up to a top Creative Agency in your area and get them to represent you. Most of the top tier employers go through them and that’s how you’ll land the big jobs. They do the screening process so the top tier employers don’t have to so you’d actually be meeting the middle men first. That’s how I got into NBC, Universal Studios, Disney, FOX, MGM, A&E, etc.
do you have a scrapbook or journal of all the countries you've been to?
I have boxes and boxes of hotel keys, boarding passes, maps, etc — but I’ve yet to put any of it into a scrap book.
Yo. Can you spare a couple tips about how to get cheap flights. Looking to travel, but wallet got different ideas :p
TravelPirates.com & Skyscanner.com are the best in my opinion. You’ll get better rates if you’re flexible.
Would you ever come to scotland with Tom and snap some photos, I'm 100% sure you'd love the place to pieces, friendliest people on earth, and incredible scenery! Do you Think that could be your next destination?
Would I? Yea. Will I? I don’t know. Tom and I are both busy people with our own individual lives. If an opportunity presented itself and it made sense, we probably would. Will it be our next destination? Probably not. I’ve been to Glasgow before when I was on tour with Ne-Yo back in 2013 & I had a lot of fun there. Cool little place!
which country failed to inspire you?
I can’t say that I’ve been to a country that’s failed to inspire me. I’m pretty open minded when I travel so there’s something to take away and learn from every place you go in my opinion. It really comes down to your expectations and I try not to have any when I travel. I take it as it comes & live in the moment.
What's your favorite food from a different country ?
Out of all the places I’ve been, there are 3 memorable meals/places that really stand out to me. 1. Florence, Italy, I ate at a place called Trattoria Gargani — which was the best food I had in all of Italy. 2. Wafi Gourmet in Dubai, it’s a little Lebanese spot with shisa right next to the World’s Tallest Building and the World’s Largest Fountain — which is also right outside the World’s Largest Mall. 3. Positano, Italy — Fly Lounge Bar. That place is NUTS. The sushi was good, the drinks were amazing and the views were insane. Restaurants number 2 & 3 had great locations and restaurant 2 had great authentic atmosphere. My 3 favorite things in life are food, travel and views. That’s probably why these stand out the most.
When can we expect merchandise?
I’m hoping to launch some this week. Anything specific you’d like to see?
How do you get funding and the money to be able to travel so much ?
I was an Art Director / Graphic Designer way before I was a photographer so I’m fortunate to have a skill set that applies to almost every business, whether it’s for client work or for myself. I don’t really do client work anymore because that’s a job to me. I’d rather do what I want to do and figure out how to make money with it rather than do something I don’t want to do and be a slave to the dollar. My freedom is very important to me. I’ve created some internet based income streams that allow me to have freedom, be location independent and generate income without paying too much attention to it. No matter how many incomes I have or how much I make, I put it right back into travel. I travel for work and work to travel.
How many places have you traveled to? And which was your favorite besides Canada?
As of right now, 24 countries, 5 continents and 47 states 5x. My Top 5: British Columbia (Canada), New Zealand, Italy, Dubai and Hawaii.
what was your favourite bit about NZ
New Zealand was an overall great trip. One of the best ever simply because it’s scenery is unmatched. I had the chance to see the entire country from top to bottom, travel through all 4 seasons along the way and experience it with great people. However, I will say that when I decided to stay 2 days longer than everyone else and had the chance to experience New Zealand by myself, that’s when everything kicked in. Often times when you travel with other people you just take where you’re from with you and apply it to where you’re at. When you’re by yourself you don’t do that. At least I don’t. Having the RV to myself for those 2 days and driving down to Milford Sound (the 8th Wonder of the World) was incredible. I was surrounded by 10,000+ ft mountains that were lit up by only the moon. No cars on the road for 90+ minutes. Not 1. Not 1 car, not one house. It was just me and total darkness and total quiet. At one point I pulled over and just listened to the sound of it all, and all you can hear was the rivers raging, but you couldn’t see any of it because of how dark it was. The ride down there at night was really special. And then to wake up in Milford Sound the next morning and seeing it for the first time was even better. I took a picture along the way.
