His boyfriend is…something else.
Keith’s thumb caress aimlessly Lance’s shoulder blade as he listens to the team’s conversation. He swears that he tried to pay attention to the topic, but he got lost after Hunk brought up the accident with the peanut butter that turned out to be Coran’s pet plant.
Save to say, Coran was heartbroken and Pidge was disturbed.
He could have tried to bring himself back into the conversation, but then Lance started making noise.
Not his usual noise; loud and notorious. No, this time it was soft and whiny, like he doesn’t want to be heard, which it’s…weird to say the least.
“Hmm,” Lance grunts, yet again, bumping his forehead against Keith’s side, tightening his hold around his boyfriend’s waist, “Hmm, Keith.”
“Lance?” Keith mumbles quietly, an amused eyebrow arched up in his face as he slightly turns and looks down at his boyfriend, chuckling softly when Lance limits himself to snuggle closer to his chest, “Babe.”
Well, the soft and whiny grunts from before have turned loud and super whiny now.
Lance grunts once again, shamelessly being as loud as he can. Keith hums then, looking at Lance’s face curiously. His boyfriend’s eyes are closed but his eyebrows are furrowed together as if in frustration along with a small pout on his lips.
Endearing as hell, but it’s not like Keith’s gonna tell him that.
“What? I didn’t hear you, Lance.” Keith teases, lips grazing Lance’s forehead, “You gotta speak louder.”
Okay, grunting louder was not quite what Keith meant, but bonus points to his boyfriend for trying.
“Keeeith.” Lance whines, nuzzling his face against Keith’s chest.
“Alright, alright.” Keith mumbles softly, eyes turning fond as he reaches out and gently lifts Lance’s face by his chin to meet him halfway, “Well, aren’t you a whiny baby?”
He loves his boyfriend, but damn, does he make it easy to tease him. The raging warm blush that decorates Lance’s cheeks is always a good bonus.
“Oof – Keith, come on.” Lance sighs, eyebrows finally easing up as soon as Keith’s lips ghost over his own, “Babe.”
And Keith’s officially sold.
Keith hums on the back of his throat as Lance’s instantly melts against him when their lips touch. He feels himself smiling against his will during the kiss, laughing softly when Lance playfully smacks him on the stomach for it.
As cliché as it sounds, Keith’s world around him disappears when he’s kissing Lance. How could he concentrate in anything else but Lance’s warm hands on his neck, thumb grazing the edge of his chin every few kisses in between? How could he when Lance sighs contently against their kiss every few seconds only making him to steal more and more of his breath.
Still, that doesn’t make him miss the soft happy mumble from his boyfriend nor the playful teasing of the team when they catch up with the event.
