Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ll update this soon - in the meantime you can get the the latest on my Instagram (@jeffreycustoms).
The Ironhead is still at my local shop - we all spent ages trying to track down an electrical problem. Turns out it was a faulty (brand new) electronic ignition module - this is why I hate new parts...
I took the Elsinore on the highway to test out the top speed for the new gearing. 106 km/h is definitely the top speed - I know this because the engine seized when I hit it! The rear wheel locked up but I managed to keep it upright.
This photo was taken when I was waiting by the side of the highway for the engine to cool down.
More progress on the front spoiler...
I’ve been working on the second version of the front spoiler - 1968 Camaro spoiler modified to fit the Mustang R-model valence and cut to incorporate brake cooling ducts.
I took the car to an event in Calgary today - met a nice Mustang fan.
I went to the store to pick up some hardware for the dash - when I came back a vintage Ford Ranchero had parked next to my Mustang. Very cool.
I modified a stock radio bezel to mount the kill switch and fire suppression release.
Today Jason finished spraying the door trim and jambs in flat black - I installed the aluminium door panels and vintage Cal Custom door handles.
Made a couple of brackets to secure the lexan rear window.
Jason Provenzano, who did all of the bodywork and paint on the Mustang, came by today to help me with the interior paint. The door panels were stripped to bare metal with a wire wheel to preserve the stamped grain and then sprayed satin black. The door jambs, sills and dash will be sanded and painted flat black.
These are the last areas of the car still in the original Sunlit Gold colour - you can see the original colour on the steering column. The new paint is a very similar shade of gold with slightly more metallic.
Very cool to have my MT250 Elsinore featured on the Honda Canada Facebook and Instagram feed.
