Dragon Ball Episodes 44-46

Episode 44

Goku meets up with Bulma and her father. Bulma is pretty priveleged. Bulma shows off her new invention that makes her smaller.I guess it can be useful. She uses it and sits in Goku's shirt to fly around and travel. It's a funny visual I have to admit. Hasky is a new villain who teamed up with the Red Ribbon army to help them get the Dragonballs so she's lurking while all this is going on. Goku and Bulma meet up with Yamcha ,Puar, and Oolong. Bulma and Yamcha are having relationship problems, but they are cordial enough to go to a theme park as a group.

Episode 45

The group enters the amusement park. Goku while there meets a fortune teller. The Fortune teller is Hasky in disguise. Hasky wants the Dragon Balls and it gets weird. Hasky says she sees a vision of 2 balls ,so Goku flashes her it's weird and stupid humor. I frowned at that. Yamcha is holding the DragonBalls she swipes them and plants a bomb.Goku disarms it, and Bulma and Yamcha officially calls it quits. They had a good run.

Episode 46

The humor is this show is weird. Sometimes I get it and stuff is generally funny other time I'm like why? For example Bulma only has one Dyno cap left from her dad, and what's in it? Porno mags. Like that's the joke. I get it, but eh it's not a joke for me. Goku goes diving to look for a Dragonball. While all this is going on Bulma is getting shot at by the Red Ribbon army pilots. Honestly I cant wait to move on from the Red Ribbon army. Goku saves her on to Master Roshi's.

Despite my gripes I am enjoying the show, The Journey continues.

Dragon Ball Movie 1 – Curse Of The Blood Rubies

Movie review, This is the first Dragonball movie. It's a retelling of the early Dragonball adventures with a new villain named King Gurumes. King Gurumes is this big guy who wants the Dragonballs to stop his curse of being a big purple monster. He has an army and crew that wants to get them all since they already have 5 they are halfway there. Goku is an orphan who meets Bulma,Yamcha and Pilaf,Oolong,and a girl named Pansy. They have to meet Master Roshi to learn the special arts of Kung Fu. This is a very Wizard of Oz type retelling,but its very well done. Its a nice 40-50 minute watch.

Dragonball Episodes 42 and 43

Episode 42

We are back at Snow's place.This episode had a few reveals. One of them being that Eighter had the Dragonball. I admit I snickered at this.They go to Dr Flappe who removes the bomb inside of 8 (Its also revealed he created 8). Murasaki also is somehow still alive until he is defeated by Goku. Overall a Good episode.

Episode 43

Goku leaves on Nimbus to West city in search of Bulma. There are some fun moments of Goku in the city.I like episodes where Goku can be weird with people.Love the fish out of water stuff.A policeman is helpful and takes Goku to Bulma's house and away we go.

Dragonball Episodes 36 - 38 (Re-Review)

(Was accidently deleted with no backup so this is a re-review)

Episode 36

This Episode Goku starts his journey at Muscle Tower. Its a Game of Death style homage with multiple floors and fights.We start with a great fight against Major Metallitron a robot that has a cool design,It ends with his batteries dying it was a good episode overall. Goku is a beast

Episode 37

 The next floor is floor 4 with Ninja Murasaki.Its a good fight, but its also very cartoony,very Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. I enjoy the comedy of Dragonball.

Episode 38

This episode the Ninja splits himself into 8 and its revealed that they are multiple people and not really one man. Quintuplets. Its an interesting twist, but I dig it. It feels sort of like another Bruce Lee Enter the Dragon Homage with the mirrors. I like the twist to it.

Dragonball Episodes 39-41

Episode 39

Android 8 is finally free ,and is sent to fight Goku. Plot twist they dont fight.There is an interesting Maze aspect in this episode.It's a solid episode overall.

Episode 40

Buyon is a monster sicced on Goju and Android no 8. Buyon is a weird looking pink blob of a monster.Goku and Android kick his ass and moves on. I really like the team and Friendshp of Goku and Android 08. I also like Android 8 eventhough he is obviously a rip on Frankenstien's monster.

Episode 41

General White has been causing so many issues and it feels good to see him get his comeuppance. Of course 8 doesnt get involved since he's a pacifist . I find that interesting. They leave muscle tower and the funniest section to me is when they meet up with Snow again,and Goku runs towards Snow with bread,and completely say fuck Snow I want bread haha. Im enjoying this show.

Dragonball episodes 33-35

Episode 33

One thing I love about this is we get a nice backstory on the Dragonballs. How they came to be and how they split, along with their purpose.I love origins stories told in flashback.It gives previous stories and future ones more weight.Most of the present involves Goku and the Red Ribbon's army chasing over the Dragonballs. Along with a monkey stealing the ball.

Episode 34

Goku gets a new Robot helping him out, and flying him around. If Im being honest. This Red Ribbon Army story isnt as interesting as the previous arc. Goku really works best with interesting characters to play off, and the Red Ribbon army isnt that interesting.

Episode 35

This girl named Snow rescues Goku after he and robot crashes into the snow,and they have a chat. Snow and her mother basically save Goku.More about the Dragonballs is explored and info is given to Snow and her mother by Goku. Such as Oolong wishing for panties with the 7 Dragonballs (This show needs to relax.). Goku is then back on the road more Red Ribbon army shenanigans.The Journey continues.

DragonBall Episodes 30-32

Episode 30

This is the beginning of the Red Ribbon arc. After missing for a bit Pilaf and his crew are back in the mix. I kinda missed them in some capacity, but not really. Maybe they will grow on me this arc. Everyone is looking for the 4 star ball, and it leads them to this antique store guy who is selling fake Dragonballs. The Red Ribbon Army are a new threat looking for the DBs and they don't fall for the scam. The real ball is stolen by a bird. nice twist.

Episode 31

This episode had some fun comedy bits. Chi Chi and her dad Emperor Ox are back in the mix. Chi Chi wants to marry Goku. They are like 12, She needs to be out playing with dolls or something. Trying to get married is wild. Well the story gets kinda funny cause Pilaf finds out the Six Star Ball might be in Ox's vicinity so Pilaf has his sidekick Shu wear a Goku mask. Which follows is a series a event that are comedic in nature. They have a dinner and all the above in prep. That all is foiled by the Red Ribbon Army.The Red Ribbon Army leads waste to the village. Kinda ill villains.Pilaf and Shu escape with the real Dragonball. Shit is happening.

Episode 32

The Red Ribbon army are still causing drama. The Real Goku and ChiChi rescue Ox,and fend off the Red Ribbon Army. There are some really cool action set-pieces in the episode.Colonel Silver is a badass villain. The Red Ribbon army ending getting the ball from Pilaf and co. Its an adventure.

Dragonball episodes 27-29

Episode 27

The fight between Jackie and Goku continues.Jackie hypnotizes Goku. Jackie hits Goku with a lightning blast,but its a fool moon. Great Ape Goku is back,but to stop him Jackie releases the hardest Kamekameha.Everyone thinks Goku is dead. Good episode. They are really dragging this on tho.

Episode 28

Goku is still alive. Its revealed that Jackie shot at the moon and not Goku, so Goku is back to him normal self and the fight can continue.This fight is very dramatic.Its been multiple episodes on one fight, but its good. After a dramatic Double KO and restart "Jackie" wins. Roshi de-transforms from Jackie and takes the prize money to spend on the whole crew on a dinner. Its a fun ending to a good arc.

Episode 29

This episode kind of works as a epilogue from the arc. Goku is taking a break from training to look for the 4 star ball. Also its a Nam episode!!! Nam is one of the most interesting characters in this show to me. Its a shame that he's not a main character. Nam shows up with the water Roshi gave him to help his village. Their river is completely drained, but they have water now.Its only temporary solution. That water is not gonna last forever.Goku and Nam find out Giran his other Dino's are blocking the river with a Dam. Goku and Giran have a scuffle. Goku shoots a Kamekameha through the Dam, breaking it up.The water flows out ,but is dried up by a sandstorm,and The next arc begins

Dragonball Episodes 24-26

Episode 24

This episode has a great gag where "Jackie Chun" and Krillin are fighting and the announcer asked them to slow it down and they reenact what they just did so the announcer can see. Its so absurd but hilarious.There are alot of great gags in this show.It slows down the action, but keeps the show rolling along. Not in an MCU way of start and stop, but its something that adds to the show (I don't hate the MCU btw) .Then we get Krillin distracting "Chun" with panties and Chun almost loses. This man is not beating the Roshi allegations.

Episode 25

Nam continues to be a character I wish had more screentime. He doesnt win his fight with Goku, but has a good fight. Nam cares about his people and helping out the place he's from.Nam is the first person to be told by Chun that he's Roshi. Roshi hooks him up with a water capsule to help his village. In exchange of posing as him as Roshi to get Yamucha off his back. Its a poignant moment where Roshi admits he wants to defeat Goku so he wont be to cocky and be the best. Good arc for Nam.

Episode 26

Jackie Chun vs Goku is the main event. Its pretty epic. Master vs Student, but the student has no idea. Also Goku with his tail back has people worried over the last few episodes. Specifically Bulma,Oolong,and Yamucha. The fight is going great. Its a solid battle of 2 titans. Goku is tougher than Chun thought. Chun uses the Kamehameha,and almost exposes himself as Roshi, but saves by saying he's Roshi's cousin. The episode ends on a cliffhanger that Im ready to see the end on. The saga continues.

Dragonball Episodes 21-23

Episode 21

Bactarian is the grossest shit I've ever seen. He fight Krillin and Krillin wins, but I am forever haunted by the visuals of this episode.

Episode 22

Next episode of the Tournament story is Master Chun (Who is obviously Roshi) vs Yamucha. "Chun" is a formidable fighter. Yamucha figures out who he is due to his Roshi like horniness. Which is a funny way to figure that out. Then there's a fight between Nam an Indian fighter and Ranfan a beautiful woman. Nam is an interesting character that I wish was explored more. Nam is a weird character who just uses her sex appeal and the fact that she's a girl,and you cant hit girls.I hate the way that most female characters are written in this show. Nam won due to shenanigans.

Episode 23

Goku of course gets the best fight and episode to me.He fights Giran a dragon like dude. Its really cinematic full of special powers. Goku even gets to use his Nimbus cloud. Goku wins after Giran forfeits. Goku's tail also grows back. Interesting

Despite some gripes I have with the show Dragonball remains exciting. The Journey continues.

Episodes 18 -20

Episode 18

The training arc continues. Roshi has Goku and Krillim working at a construction site, Its wacky fun episode. All the training episodes are high hijinks.

Episode 19

Roshi wont teach them a lick of Martial arts moves until they finish each goals, but he keeps moving the goalposts. Roshi wants them to sign up to the Tenatachi tourney with no moves taught. We see the Bulma/Yamucha crew again as the stories finally merge. with Yamucha,Krillin,and Goku joining. it sets up my fav episode...

Episode 20

This is pure Martial arts fun. They are all in the tournament which they make it far with the skills Roshi have taight them. Its really well done entertaining and has me locked in.Excited to see the next phase. The journey continues.

Dragonball Episodes 16 and 17

Episode 16

Most people would say this is filler, but I like the Looney Tunes vibes of this. Its very Tex Avery in some of the best ways. They move to a new island, and Krillin and Goku are sent on a rock hunt. Its fun, also Roshi is still horny. Someone please stop this man.

Episode 17

More training and sorta has similar vibes as the episode before. The milk delivery as training for the tournament is really cool. We also get a look at what Yamcha and Bulma and co. are doing. Which is nice. They dont have as much screen time as prevously, but the rare glimpses are good to see. We will probably see more of them as the show goes on and the storylines merge.

DragonBall Episode 14 and 15.

Episode 14

More horny Master Roshi Shenanigans. Roshi will only train Goku if he brings him a girlfriend. Its very weird and a bit funny. Might have to arrest Roshi tho man is weird.Krillin is also introduced and helps with this search. This whole plot is insane. Yamcha,Bulma,Puar,and Oolong are in the jungle in desert lost af.

Episode 15

Krillin and Goku are still searching for a girl for Roshi. There's a girl named Launch who changes personalities when she sneezes. Its an interesting idea for a character. She's a fugitive so of course she is the girl they bring back to Roshi. They all dress up as maids. They say its her uniform. idk Its all weird. It's show is still good tho. The Journey continues.

Dragonball Episodes 11-13

The end of season one. Probably the strongest of the show so far.

Episode 11

The crew are in basically Pilaf's Jungle. Very high adventure. Dungeon crawling at its finest.Pilar suceeds at getting all 7 Dragonballs and we got the first appearnace of Shenron and its a dazzling sequence.

Episode 12

Another strong follow up where the Oolong has his own moment. The crew in general are working together well. Goku tranform into a Great Ape. It gets awesome.

Episode 13

Goku's Great Ape moment is straight outta King King. Its peak so far. The 3 episodes really round out the show well.A great Journey so far. An Odyssey of sorts, I look forward to see what comes next. Season 1 in the books.

DragonBall Episodes 9 and 10

Episode 9 was interesting because Bulma got turned into a carrot by a Giant Bunny who runs a Rabbit type gang. It was weird wacky filler,but it's my favorite episode so far.Hopefully we get more wacky episodes like this as the show goes on.

Episode 10 was more of a story focused episode. Pilaf has most of the Dragonballs, but not the 4 one. There are some cool mech and Robot designs in this anime. I have to give them props for that. I think the show is hooking me in. I'm ready for more of this Adventure

DragonBall episodes 6-8

I figure Bulk reviews are the best and easiest way to do this so from here on out Bulk updates are what's gonna happen. Master Roshi is a very interesting character ruined by the fact that he's very perverted.Honestly starting to feel bad for Bulma with the BS she's going through. Its kinda weird. Almost everyone is very pervy.

ChiChi is added to the story she really wants to be Goku's future wife. She's not too interesting so far just there.She is the daughter of the Ox King. This Giant guy. He has a cool design.Everyone in this anime has cool designs.

Yamucha is sorta on the journey, but is also going his own way. He's sort of helpful yet is in the way. Yamucha is cool. The most interesting development so far is Goku learning to Kamekameha from Roshi. The kid is evolving quick. The story is getting more interesting as each episode goes by. Hopefully it keeps me interested and continues it upward mobility and gets less pervy. The Journey continues.

DragonBall episodes 1-5.

Im doing these ones in bulk because I wasn't planning on doing reviews when I embarked on this journey so bare with me. Full disclosure Im watching these on Hulu and m watching fully subbed. The first couple of episodes really get you ready for the journey ahead. Goku is this kid trained in Martial arts and is supposed to be 14. He meets Bulma a 16 year old girl that's looking for the Dragonballs.

Bulma is pretty much the smartest character in the show so far. Mostly everyone else is aloof or honestly kinda creepy.I was taken aback by Goku just randomly patting the crotches of female characters to check if they were boys or not. Also there are alot of weird panties humor.

So Far Goku and Bulma are going on a Journey looking for the magical Dragonballs. The Fantasy elements are really well done. The show is obviously based on Journey to the West. I dont know much about Journey to the West. (I should look more into it). So Far they have added shape shifter pig Oolong and martial artist Yamucha. Despite some of the weird creepy parts Im enjoying the show. The comedy can be jarring, but thats just an anime thing. This should be a ride.
