my personal family tree (and some headcanons) for my own story

Rum Tug Tugger is Old Deuteronomy's biological child. Munkustrap is found in adolescence as a stray cat, a little too young to be on his own, adopted by Old Deuteronomy as his son, but is older than Tugger. Macavity is similar, but didn't really consider himself family, breaks off pretty early, before Munkustrap and Tugger are adult cats. So technically, Old Deut brothers but the two were not particularly connected to Macavity in a familiar sense. Rum and Munkustrap have a close 'you are soooo annoying but I love you' bond.

Jemima is Demeter's kid. By Macavity? Demeter knows but no one pressures her to confirm or deny.

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer are the niece and nephew of Skimbleshanks. Mungojerrie is intersex in my personal headcanon. Not twins. Mungojerrie is the younger sibling.

Jellylorum and Jennyanydots are not biological sisters but instead those really close friends who are like "the world couldn't handle us as sisters so it made us friends instead <3". Jellylorum is Gus the Theatre Cats granddaughter. Jennyanydots is owned since kittenhood, by an older lady who she watches sewing, crochet, and sing. Gus is literally a cat who lived in a threatre. Jennyanydots is fixed.

Victoria is Bustopher Jones daughter from an unknown mother. Bustopher Jones is owned by a former military officer.

Jellylorum is the mother of Bombalurina.

Some background stuff I haven't given much thought to. I see the tribe as a safe space for lost or otherwise orphaned cats and kittens, which is why there's not a TON of family relationships. Personally I think Tugger, while referenced to have a human family in his song, is often just kind of...abducted by a human family who thinks they own this stray cat which is why he's so difficult to them lol and why he is better groomed than most. Munkustrap's collar is a former collar of Tugger’s, given to Munkustrap as a cute brotherly gift.

Ships? Idk!!! I insert my OCs into the world so they are included in it. Mistoffelees and RTT obviously. Bombalurina and Demeter are casual girlfriends. Alonzo and Victoria are courting each other, Plato is interested in them both. Munkustrap has a crush on Skimbleshanks. Jennyanydots likes Bustopher but he's aloof to it, not uninterested, but literally just doesn't think of it lol, probably be interested if he was told. Jemima and Cettie are bumbling lesbians to me.

Munkustrap I ship with my OC, Velveteen, a mystical cat who can see memories who is welcomed into the Jellicle tribe after it becomes known she was a kitten mill cat adopted by her owners to become a backyard breeder, she also has a side romance with Rumpleteazer. Coricopat and Tantomile are twins, and Velveteen is an unofficial sibling since they can often combine thier "powers". Velveteen was a Jellicle cat who was reborn, hence why she found her way back to the tribe after ascending.

On that note, I think the cats with powers are cats who have been reborn after going to the heaviside layer so Mistoffelees, Coricopat and Tantomile and my Velveteen.
