Welp it looks like I will be playing Dragon Age next. This is the only game on the list I have really no prior experience with and I am going in (pretty much) totally blind. I’m really excited to give this game a shot though because I’ve heard so many great things about it. I know I said I’d wait until Friday to start but I’m just so excited I will probably start tonight. Hopefully this time I can upload more videos of my gameplay for you guys or maybe even stream a little.

Attention Guardians

Hello everyone! Sorry It’s been a few days since I last posted. I’d like to say I was off doing exciting things but really I was just laying around and being a bum most of the time. ANYWAYS. Bungie is giving everyone who plays Destiny between 01/07/16 through 01/10/16 a thank you present! (Unfortunately your girl here forgot to make a post about this so you only have a few hours left. SORRY. I will do better next time. I promise)

All you have to do to receive your FREE 15 Motes of light and 15 strange coins is log in and head to the postmaster where your gifts will be waiting. Also if you complete anything in the game (a storyline mission, a crucible match, a strike, etc.) You will receive and exclusive emblem starting 01/12/16. That being said as soon as I tire of Black Ops (which I’m almost there) I plan on posting a ton of Destiny stuff for you guys.

I have to admit the multiplayer is growing on me now that I don’t totally suck. Hopefully I’ll have more stuff for you guys tomorrow, but for tonight here is a video of me sniping someone from half way across the map. It’s not as impressive as 99% of the things you can find on youtube but it’s the most impressive thing I’ve done in a long time so I had to share.

Black Ops 3 Campaign Review (spoiler free)

Like most relationships, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 started off with the promise of new and fun adventures but as you dove in it began showing it’s true colors- it is crazy just like the rest. As I stated in a previous post I truly believe that the beginning of this game was fantastic. The concept was interesting and the first couple of missions really suck the player in. However, after that i pretty much did a 180 on my opinion. Shortly after these missions, when you get to the meat and potatoes of the game, it takes a strange philosophical change. Call of Duty games have been very linear in the past: they give you an objective and you accomplish it. However this time things change and you don’t really realize what is exactly going on until the very last line of the game is muttered from your characters lips. However this is not very different for faithful Black Ops fans who can see the parallels to the first game in the series when it is reveled that things weren’t exactly as Mason remembered. Undoubtably Activision and Treyarch have paved the path for the next generation Black Ops game. That being said Black Ops 3′s campaign was still everything you have come to expect from this first person juggernaut: interesting characters, lots of explosions, lot of blood, and all together lots of fun and frustration.  Something I wish I would have spent more time with on this game was the weapon creator. You get to basically build your ideal gun with all the best parts AND you can give it a unique paint job to match your personality (something the art major in me can really identify with). 

OVERALL IMPRESSION: 3/5

Well guys I struggled (and believe me when I say struggled) through the Black Ops storyline yesterday and today and finally completed it. I will be posting my  review of the game’s campaign tomorrow for you guys! That being said I’m off to try out the multiplayer!

Black Ops Playthrough: Day One (spoiler free)

I’ll be the first to admit that I truly had no idea what this game was about when I bought it. I’ve played several of the Call of Duty games including the first Black Ops several years ago and I got about half way through the second but never finished it. I purchased this game solely on the fact it was part of the same franchise and I had enjoyed when I was younger. Plus let’s be honest, I can say I bought this to play the campaign but everyone knows you play COD for one of two things: Multiplayer or Zombies. 

That being said I have decided to play through the storyline first before I do any of the other activities.  So far I honestly believe this storyline is the most interesting thing that Activision and Treyarch have come up with. The developers have taken the question of “what can technology do next?” and let their minds run wild in this future based society. The DNI abilities allow the player to do things that are unprecedented in FPS games. For instance, while going through the tutorial on of the DNI power you possess is one called “firefly”. This ability allows you to send off these moth swarms to attack your enemies and catch them on fire. My description does not do this justice for how cool it is- or for any of the powers for that matter. I don’t know how many times I’ve already caught myself thinking “Oh my gooooood. That would be so cool if I could do this in real life”. Also the moment Commander John Taylor appeared on screen I had to fan girl out a little as he looks almost identical to his voice actor Christopher Meloni from Law and Order: SVU. I didn’t get that far into it tonight but hopefully I can get a good chunk of it done for you tomorrow and upload some screenshots for you guys!

Well folks it looks like the first game I will be sharing with you all is Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. For this first play through I will be playing on the “hardened” difficulty. So stick around for my personal thoughts, tricks and tips, screen shots and maybe even some videos of my first play through over the next few days.
