We so often look at kings and see a title of power. So little do we understand that without a queen, the kingdom isn't whole and won't run the same. It was a great weekend celebrating UMC's 10 year anniversary with past and present brothers that are changing the future! Was a powerful weekend of growth and movement. This organization and members were a big part of my growth throughout college. A brotherhood is an important thing to have when becoming a man, and reaching back continues that process. It's crazy how much goes unnoticed when you're strong. We see strong people and yet we don't understand that they're stronger than we even notice bc you may not always understand what they go through. Yes this was a walk for breast cancer, but to others dealing with other things, sometimes it's much more. My super woman who not only made us keep a faster pace but also ran/jogged most of the race. She deals with pain most will never know or see bc she doesn't know how to let life keep her down. This race and this pic speaks volumes of her character and to why I'm so proud to be her son. Saying I'm blessed to be her child is an understatement. I know some strong women, and for that I can only be grateful. It's the little things in life.

My grandma would kill me if she knew I posted this but it's a perfect #tbt (#throwbackthursday and #trulyblessedthursday) since its a throwback but also because #raceforthecure is this weekend. My grandma beating breast cancer and still going strong is truly a blessing! She was nervous about losing her hair, then one day called me and said to go over to shave it for her. It really meant a lot to be able to do that for her and to be surrounded by loved ones while doing it. This woman means so much to me, and her strength is truly great! She is back to having long hair to put her curlers back in and to working in her garden.
