Rara woke up extra early today to make sure that my first “happy birthday” of the day came from a real person instead of a video game character (like it has the past several years) and anyway I’m crying

Today on Things That I Assume are Normal in the Splatlands: someone left a microwave on a bench near Ammo Knights in Splatsville and I keep seeing people taking pictures with it and leaving small items around and inside it as “tribute.”

My friends and family should count themselves lucky I never watched The Nightmare Before Squidmas as a kid because I guarantee you I’d be even more insufferable about Splatoween than I already am

Okay but you people don’t understand how real this is. You know that one family in Shelltarune that lives in a Squidmas-themed McMansion? I’ve had to both fiscally and physically restrain Rara from turning our apartment into a miniature Splatoween version of that multiple times this month.

Lemon and Rara have begun to kill, cook, and eat the Super Sea Snails (which, as a reminder, were aspiring to take over the world). I can’t say I completely approve, but I must admit the innards are rather tasty when deep-fried! Rara and Lemon prefer theirs roasted and salted, but that just means more greasy fried goodness for me~

Hello! Is anyone in need of some Super Sea Snails? Once Lemon came back from its time with Cam and Gabe, a bunch of them appeared in Rara’s and my apartment and they don’t seem to want to leave.

Actually, they’ve been blocking the door for a few hours making weird noises and staring at us if we get close. We have enough food to last us a while, but………
