Queer Zine Archival Project (QZAP)

With all the chaos that is currently happening in the US (I'm not American), I feel that it's important to not lose hope in what we are still fighting for and to continue to express our experiences and desires when it comes to being/supporting the LGBTQ+ as a whole.

Because unfortunately, America has a very strong influence on the rest of the world.

The very least I can do is share and encourage going through the QZAP website since zines played a major role within LGBTQ history. The website has very much helped me learn the experiences of what people have been going at that time, and I believe much of it can be applied now.

But I also encourage people to create zines of their own so that we continue to stay strong remind others that our existence will not be going away.

There is a motion going through UK parliament now (5th June 2026) to disapprove the EHRC Code of Practice. If passed, the Code of Practise will limit trans rights and legal protections, and give institutions greater power to segregate us.

This tool lets you find your MP and send them an email just by putting in your postcode and details.

Asking your MP to join this and support us gives us a chance at walking this back.

It takes less than 5 minutes. The email is pre-written, but you can add you own experiences and concerns.

Made a zine to distribute with info and a link/QR code to the tool. It is aimed primarily at people who aren't trans or trans allies (including latent transphobes).

Please feel free to print this off & distribute it in your area. It can be printed on A4 paper, or you can access versions that have 2 smaller copies to an A4 page here. (smaller copies saves paper, makes them easier to pocket. my distribution technique is finding tactical places in public to leave them; public transport, on tables in cafes, near other leaflets. you can hand them out directly at Prides etc if you feel confident with that).

Do test prints and folds before you print a ton of them. You can print it black and white, the red just pops if you've got the ink for it.

Got the full sized test print back from mixam (no pics as I never got round to taking them)

Final version'll be A4 landscape instead of A5 (unless I change my mind again) , for some reason they can't print that format on recycled silk without using a different type of printer & it being massively expensive, so I've had to change it to non-recycled silk. It should be the same thickness but somehow the A4 test zine is thicker than both the A5 version & the last zine I had printed with them (I'm guessing they accidentally printed the a5 test prints with 115gsm instead of 130gsm or something) Mixam saw my post about the A5 version on insta & are interested in featuring it on their account, which is pretty cool cool as fuck. I've added extra pages with info about my other zines & that means I've got a spare page for adverts if anyone's interested.

Go Outside Yo graffiti photo zine, mini test print

While working on the other idea for a graffiti photo zine, realised some of the photos would work better in a landscape format. Created a whole zine then discovered it was too expensive to get a single test print from mixam for the paper I wanted to use, so resized the layouts & pics and got an A5 landscape test print.

Ordered one & mixam sent me four, two had visible white edges where they were poorly trimmed.

I'm keeping one, sent one to Zine Pavilion, sold one on ebay & the other is available via either ko-fi or etsy. Final zine is probably going to be larger (A4 landscape), have slightly different wording on cover & extra pages with info on my other zines + adverts maybe.
