February 22nd, 2019 There were moments when I thought this day might never come. I’m in tears. I set out with a vision nearly 8 years ago, to translate the “universe” that was in my head, to record. It was like watching a black & white movie without sound. I wanted to color and conduct how I saw the film that was “my life in my twenties”. This album taught me about love, heartbreak, patience, integrity, friendship, fear, and perseverance. It took me to places within myself that made me who I am today. I am so blessed to have worked with so many incredible people who, allowed me to be myself and trusted me through the process. To my co-producer, @michaelhaziza_ , who is one of my best friend’s and such an incredible talent, I could not have done this without you. To @antoinekatzbass , @randy_runyon , @jakeshermanwooo , @benmarino , @ethanapollosgouldbourne , @russelevado, @jamespoyser, @danajhawkins , @zachmullings , @kellybartley, @masteredbystef , @sarloson , I am so honored to have had you on this project. Playing “dress-up” and writing narratives for characters is something I’ve been doing since I was 6 years old. My mom would take my sisters and I to the Berkeley flea market every weekend to look for costumes. We had a giant bag of vintage clothes that we would play in and full on gowns we would try to convince my mom to let us wear to the grocery store. When we were shooting for #CBTC, a sense of nostalgia and familiarity swept over me. I remembered that this who I’ve always been. A story teller. #whoisjennahbell

Thank you for listening, sharing, tweeting, and covering my EP. Nothing gives me more joy than to be able to share these creations with you, and to know that it may bring some kind of peace to your day. My EP "Anatomy" was always intended to be a limb of a bigger body of work that I'd be releasing. I'm excited to share that this new song, "Can't Be Too Careful," is from my forthcoming full-length record, scheduled to release this fall/winter. As a young twenty-something in NYC, with dreamy aspirations and stars in my eyes, fell in love (against my better logic). I always prayed to be the kind of person who could measure the distance of "the fall" with their eyes first, and then decide if the moments of weightlessness would be worth the possibility of being brokenhearted. Needless to say, I jumped, I bruised– and then I wrote. "Can't Be Too Careful" draws from the 70's era, the Rock & Roll anthems you might hear blaring through the speakers of a muscle car cruising down a Los Angeles’ freeway, sweat gathering at the back of your knees from the unrelenting summer heat. Dear New York, next Tuesday I will be playing at Three's Brewing in BK for Ms. Julia Easterlin's residency for her new project "Hite". This will be my last show in NYC for a while as I will be moving to Los Angeles next month. I would love to sing to to you, see you, love you before I go.
