I saw A Monster Calls about a week or so ago and it’s still on my mind. It’s such a brilliant movie with gorgeous animation, design, and story. I love it so much! Such an inspiring movie!

The adaptation showed up just after midnight. As they do. And I was waiting when it came, because I’ve been ready for this book to be made into a film since I first read it in 2012, five year…

It's here! My special edition of AMC arrived and I've spent the last half hour or so going through all of the making-of details about the movie. If I have time tonight or this week, I'll probably post some thoughts about it! (And perhaps share an image or two of the concept art, which is amazing as always.)

Quartet Records, Back Lot Music, Universal Pictures and Focus Features present the soundtrack album of the eagerly anticipated new collaboration between director J.A. Bayona and composer

I don’t know if you all have discovered this yet, but if you go to this site you can listen to previews of tracks from the score for the A Monster Calls movie, which is composed by Fernando Velazquez! Of the tracks available for preview, my favorite is “The Truth,” mostly because I’m a sucker for melancholy piano and choirs. (Although, the end credits, unsurprisingly, are gorgeous, too.)
