I like to imagine, in times gone by, that Rendain would’ve attended all of the official events of the Eternal Flame. He would’ve been a symbol of Jennerit strength, second only to that of Empress Lenore. He would have danced at the ball. He would’ve generally attempted to be personable, even if the citizens of the empire feared him. He’d totally be at the refreshment table saying, “And do try the macaroons. They’re to die for.”

I also imagine that as time went on, the strain between Lenore and he would’ve shown. Larger gaps between where they stood together. Glancing away during speeches. No longer sharing the camaraderie that they previously had. The solstice before he seized control and darkened Jennar, I would imagine that he and the Empress would not have even exchanged words with one another, retreating to opposite places at the end of the respective events.

It would’ve been difficult for the people to see their beloved and worshiped leaders at odds with one another. That, and the growing sense of dread at what would happen when their tempers finally boiled over. Needless to say, being around Rendain probably wouldn’t have been pleasant then.

Just the fact that you choose to play a villain - and explain his motivations so humanely - make your portrayal awesome!

Tell Me What You Like || Always Accepting

Thank you very much kind person! I do really like Rendain for that reason. He doesn’t, on the surface, seem to be a terribly bad person. But he is incredibly racist, classist, and does terrible things like explode people’s planets and steal their stars. It makes for some really interesting interactions with the community, though! I love rping him. c:
