Welcome. I'm a mom now, so some (blog) things have changed. Mommy-like things happen to me. I step on Legos and get peanut butter in my hair. My house is a better place because my son was born. Under every turn. Inside every cupboard. Around every corner. Tiny little reminders of my son lay exactly where he wanted them to be. Why? I've no idea. What I do know, I can walk into a room feeling a little sour, down or exhausted and turn or look down to see that my son has left a little piece of himself. Then I smile. I have no idea why Fred needed to be inside Dad's drawer in the bathroom or why this Lego car must rest its wheels next to the toilet paper, but that's how he wanted it and that is how it shall be. He likes it that way, and truth be told, I actually do too. I never know what I will find, but it makes me laugh and it makes my day a little better, even if it wasn't bad to begin with. In my son's world that's how it should be. So, I will clean around it, at least until they turn into his dirty underwear. Then my post will read a bit differently.

It's raining. I can't get out of my pajamas. I'm feeling very unmotivated. I look down and see this dollar-bin-dinosaur is either on to me or he is mocking me. Well, he is either screaming, "Coffee. Please. Get. Me. Coffee." OR "SAVEEEE ME!" (And then I imagine my son hovering over him, drool running from his mouth, reaching down to grab the dino only to shove him in his wet, drooling, teething little mouth.) I can't decide. Often, the random placement of toys seem to find a funny, ironic or odd place around this house and because I was honored to experience Toy Story at a young enough age, I tend to stop and look at the "situation" a bit differently. I can't be the only mom who takes an extra second to find the humor in it, can I? Perhaps after posting I'll pick him up and save him from his A.) Rainy Day or B.) Attack from my Son. Then again, maybe I'll give him a front row seat on the mantle and make him watch me while I clean the house. Pick your battles buddy.

Nap FAIL.

Jett did not make it from the rocker to his nap spot on the floor. He woke up. I'm hungry. A little dizzy from lack of food and too much coffee. I really need to use the bathroom and I'm pretty sure Jett is rocking a number two. Damn nap poops. I also have no idea where the remote is so I am stuck watching the news. Power on. Hold it in. Rock on and get him back to sleep. You got this. Every good mom pees herself.
