Designed this to go with a friend’s Kyubey hat. Probably won’t make it for real but it was fun to draw.

I could've sworn someone has already designed and possibly produced a beret like this but I want to make one anyway for practice. Lol.

Hemmed a pre-made costume with @kuleah for their Tachinaba Hotaru cosplay from Aoharu X Kikanjuu. Changed it from long sleeve to short sleeve and made it a bit of a crop top. They still have to change the number of stripes on the fuku collar but they'll do it later. Will be putting together a Yukimura cosplay so stay tuned!

I finished the main Evangelion series and was pleased but depressed. I identify a lot with Shinji. In other news I haven't drawn chibis in ages and I'm not very good.

Finally finished inking this. I was gonna color but I just kind of gave up. Need to establish some more basics I guess? Also very obviously gave up on her shirt/suspenders.

Proud of my handstitching on this zipper (the end of the saga is that I've been too tired to clean my room so I can get out the sewing machine so I just did this in a couple hours at work instead as I have to be conscious at work anyway). I wonder if it's supposed to ripple a bit like that? Maybe when I press it, it'll go away. But proud of it anyway. Next: waistband (sewing in the flaps and belt loops with it)

Hey! Saw your picture of your Hamura diamonds, looks cool! Are those applique type things or something? Just wondering cause I'm making a Batman Beyond suit, and I'm new to sewing but I want to make the bat logo a seperate piece that maybe has hemmed edges or something instead of an applique

I think what you are describing is an applique? I could be wrong here, but that’s the same difference. 

What I did with the Homura diamonds is this: 

added 1/4″ on each side to the diamond shape I wanted

cut them out

folded over and ironed the 1/4″ over

fused wonder under (double sided fusible interfacing) to the underside of the diamonds, overtop that 1/4″ foldover

and they need fused like that to the pants but I never did do that. =P After that they’re to be handstitched down because fusing is not as permanent as it should be. 

That’s basically what an applique is, a separate piece sewn or fused onto your base piece. this is just how I’m doing mine; there are whole books about applique you can get from the library. :D

Homura diamonds....

The Sayaka skirt adventures (with saphirenote and background assistance from wanderingfate) finally are progressing. It's sure taken long enough. This is the result of about 5 hours of pleating and repleating. After we put the zipper in, then we will cut the bottom edge on an angle (and add the white bias tape edging). I’m hopeful that this was the worst part.  

The fabric is a $1.50/yd poly cotton I got from the fabric district in LA. If it holds up well I'm going to get more for more skirts. I need some schoolgirl skirts of my own and they absolutely have to go faster the more experience I have doing them.

Put on hold until I come back from sister's wedding because we won't have another day to work on it until then. In the meantime I'm working on the diamonds for the male!Homura pants. Eyeballing the hem is harder than it looks with a big iron. Need to invest in a mini.
