Din Djarin is so underrated as a pilot. He's recognized for his abilities as a bounty hunter, a mandalorian, etc (well deserved), but not often for his piloting skills. He moves the Crest in ways that are nothing short of incredible.

I stopped counting how many times he'd be dead without the helmet. Din can't walk both ways, he'd immediately become disfigured or dead without it at this point.

If he's not bonking people and creatures, then his head is getting chomped, squished or exploded on any given day...

sorry i just finished young sherlock (SPOILERS!!!!!!!) moriarty just being around for all the holmes family drama is so funny to me. people will be screaming their heads off and he's just :) in the background. nobody once said "hey this guy isn't a part of this, he has no business here". he's just part of the family now. both sherlock's mother and father took one look at him and went "oh cool sherlock has a boyfriend good for him" and just ran with it.

Din Djarin finding the strength to smash a huge rock over a droid's head moments before he loses consciousness, after essentially being fatally bitten by a huge poisonous water worm, is like the most On Brand thing imaginable for his character... even on the verge of death he'll never pass up an opportunity to be a droid hater

The writing style of this is gorgeous. Deep introspection. Din does gets hurt (it follows the end of season 1) and Grogu is his own, deep character.

“Hard Lessons Learned” by DragonXKS

Din and Grogu get badly injured in a bounty gone wrong and have to help patch each other up. Very cute, heartfelt and endearing scene in the end. Goes heavy on the hurt and the comfort, this one

“Out of Time” by Ginipig

Everything’s going south and Din has to act quick to save Grogu. Great whump but also good reconciliation and comfort in the end.

“You’re Not in This Alone” by itsagoodthing

Din’s dealing with the aftermath of multiple injuries and it’s suddenly getting worse. But he still has to stay on the run and take care of Grogu (who is adorable in this one). Paz comes along just in time to help.

That trek through Tatooine on foot in early s2. Man. The writing of this.

Set after the end of season 1. Din’s kinda ignoring how bad his injury was (and that bacta can’t fix everything). Grogu helps.

You might like my fic series “Lift a Sail.” It’s a fix it where Grogu doesn’t go with Luke in the end of s2. Managed to pack quite a few father and son moments in; definitely some hurt, but definitely comfort.

No whump here (although I suggest checking out @autumnwoodsdreamer 's recs!) but if you're looking for the comfort part - I have a number of gentle, sometimes silly tales about Din and Grogu where things turn out ok.

I think my stories are pretty well tagged for what's in them, so you can decide if you want to read any. Just maybe watch out for "End"-- even though it's really about love and family, I'm told it makes people cry.
